About this property

The Red Cabin at Luna's Trail

This property is part of the 350 acre Luna's Trail Resort but maintains privacy and is closest to the pond. We offer meals at the nearby Lodge on weekends.
This beautiful 3 bedroom property gives its renters access to miles of hiking, a pond, creek, stand up paddle/pedal boards, canoe, kayak, excellent views of Pilot, Sauratown, and Hanging Rock Mountains. Great for viewing wildlife and perfect for bird watching! Also enjoy looking at various farm animals as available. This cabin has three private suites, each with their own bathroom and shower. Our largest room sleeps up to 5 guests and has a king bed, small sitting area, and 2 twin beds with 1 trundle. The second bedroom has a queen bed with excellent views of the lake, and the third bedroom offers a king sized bed with views of the surrounding meadow and lake. Each bedroom has satellite television. Facility has heat and air conditioning, as well as wireless internet access. A common area upstairs offers a place for guests to enjoy coffee, eat, watch television, or sit on the rockers on either the front porch (overlooking the lake) or screened in back porch (overlooking the woods). The kitchenette includes a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, sink, basic cooking utensils including silverware and dishware. The cabin does not have a dishwasher or ice maker (trays are present). There is a land line telephone available for guests since cell reception in this particular location (can use wi-fi). A washer and dryer are also provided. There is an outdoor grill, and corn hole game for guest use.

If the cabin is not rented the night prior to your stay, then you can check in early. Also, if the cabin is not rented after your stay, then you can stay later.

There is a separate wedding venue on the property (in site of this cabin, 300 yards away), so you may inquire if there is an event during your stay.

There is a restaurant on The Luna's Trail Property with meals available for purchase on the weekends!

Beautiful Family Escape

Wonderful cabin and land. Beautiful location, complete with hiking trails, farm animals and quiet! Close bough to Pilot Mountain and Mt Airy. My teenage boys visited three Armfield Ctr in Pilot and paid per day to use the facility. - 10 minutes away - weight room, basketball courts plus more. The dining room and chef ere so nice and accommodating. We rented the Red Cabin and we will definitely return for more family gatherings! With some in NC and some in TN, this was the perfect location. AND our dog enjoyed it too!!! Thank you to the Wilsons!!!

Lovely Property and Fun Pond

We had a great, relaxing vacation at the Red Cabin. Loved getting to enjoy the variety of watercraft they had for floating around the pond and fishing. We loved the balconies and sitting out there in the mornings/evenings to watch storms roll in and a variety of wildlife including a fawn, opossum, fox, etc. The restaurant food was delicious and very handy.

Nice rural getaway

Cabin was more than spacious for four adults and 2 children and very clean, with plenty of towels. Having the kitchen was very helpful for being able to cook for the little ones. Kids enjoyed fishing and boating in the pond, and able to get to Pilot Mountain and Mount Airy in less than 20 minutes, or so. Can't beat getting away from 'the city', or suburbs, and into rural America. I would recommend this property.

Beautiful Cabin for Family and Relaxing.

Beautiful property with great views and piece and quiet. Very comfortable relaxing cabin with a ton of space. Daniel and Ann were available if anything was needed. Kids had a great time walking the trails, visiting the cows and fishing on the pond. Thanks for a great family vacation.

Mountain air!

This was an amazing cabin to stay! It had everything- restaurant, trails, farm animals, lake, creek and it was perfect for a mountain getaway. We went to hanging rock state park, pilot mountain, and Mayberry aka mount airy!

The Red Cabin was ideal for a quick getaway. It is as advertised. The seclusion of the property is a winner. The food from the Lodge was good as well. Owner is very accommodating and informative.

Great farm cabin

Spent a long weekend at the Red Cabin. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 4 kids. Beautiful location. Plenty of nature to explore. Met two ponies, two goats, and one dog. Great restaurant on site too! Would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful and Comfortable

We needed a place to stay for two nights on our way back to VA, found this property last minute. The owner was very quick to get back to me and confirm availability. We needed a place for our dog that had some space for him to run. This place was it, he loved it - lots of room to chase the tennis ball and not to worry about anyone being around. The house was very clean, well equipped and just as beautiful as the listing showed. We loved all the porches and decks, front porch has a nice view of the hills and pond. With it being so hot and humid, the only thing we thought was needed was a better fan on the outdoor screened porch. We also loved playing corn hole. We will definitely keep this property in mind for future getaways. Thanks again for such a wonderful stay.

Quiet getaway near pilot mountain and hanging rock

Beautiful and private

Really a beautiful home with everything you could need! We were in town for a business trip and house gave us more than enough space for us and our employees. Loved that everyone had their owe bathrooms. We love to visit again when I have more time to spend at the property.

Best vacation in years!

Very quiet and peaceful environment! The kids could ride their bikes and wander on the 200+ acre farm. Pictures really don’t do the property justice. It was a great getaway and we will definitely be back. I did not want to leave. Convenient area to Mt. Airy and Pilot Mountain.

Incredible Get Away!

The lodging was perfect with each bedroom having it's own bath.The owner's made sure to take care of the little details. It was my sister's birthday and the owner even baked chocolate chip cookies and brought them to her. The farm fresh eggs were the best we've ever eaten in our lives! It was awesome to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I highly recommend this property for the ultimate relaxing vacation. You won't find a nicer place to stay. The owners are so nice and will do anything to make your stay more comfortable!

Luna's Trail Farm

A little piece of heaven in N.C. The lodging was perfect and the owner's could not have been nicer or more accomodating. She even baked cookies from my sister's birthday and gave us the best eggs we ever tasted. A must stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Nice secluded cabin - great owners

This is a very nice cabin.. the three bedrooms are large and each with a nice bathroom. The owners live nearby and were very responsive to any needs! Ann even brought us a dozen fresh farm eggs! It is a very quite location with a large pond nearby but is also close enough to the Yatkin Valley wineries for easy day trips. The kitchen has been updated to include a range/oven that is not mentioned in the property description/pics on VRBO.
