We came to the cabin for my birthday with my husband, our 3 year old and my parents! We really enjoyed the house-the game room was a hit. The location is great! We did the Hawksnest snow tubing and highly recommend! We will definitely be coming back.

My thoughts

The building was very nice and in a good location. The cleanliness needs improved, there was a lot of dust on the ceiling fixtures. There was also only enough dishwasher detergeant for one load of dishes. Overall, it was a good experience and we are thankful for our stay.

Great weekend getaway

We arrived and found the property as detailed in the ad. It was spacious and offered plenty of room for the group. We spent our downtime in the basement playing pool, air hockey, and board games! We enjoyed the stay and wish it could have been longer.

Weekend getaway to visit area and snow tubing

Nice cabin. Amenities are good. Access to shops, restaurants and attractions is great. We visited Hawksnest Snow Tubing. Some of the furniture and game tables are really wobbley and unstable. There is also a significant tree limb hanging over the property's mailbox and part of the driveway. I saw a couple of german cockroaches in the kitchen in the morning hours.

Great Location Log Cabin

We came up here specifically to go skiing at Sugar Mountain. Ended up with plenty of snow and cold weather. Was a bit intimidated with driving to and from the cabin with the weather, but the roads all the way to the cabin was plowed and salted frequently so no issues at all.Location and view was spectacular, even better then the images, with views and plenty of deer to watch. The cabin itself was very spacious, we are a family of 5 with a golden retriever. Plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen was stocked with spices, sugar, flour, oil, etc. Much better than most cabins. Can't wait to go back!

We loved our stay at Alpine Cabin. The property description and information is accurate. The home is well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The house was decorated for the holidays. The view from the back deck is absolutely stunning. We had a few days with snow and the roads were well taken care of. We will be back soon!

Awesome home

Our stay was at the end of August. Booking was easy. Communication with the owners was simple and they are very responsive and informative. The home is very, very nice. Well kept. Hard to think of an amenity that is not already taken care of. Tons of information at the home to make our stay relaxing. Location is close to everything. We would absolutely stay here again.

About the host

Hosted by Carole and Forrest Byron, Owners - Alpine Log Cabin

Host profile image
Forrest and I have always been part of the entertainment and vacation industry. Before buying Alpine Log Cabin we owned and operated a Yogi Bear's Camp Resort providing family fun for kids of all ages. Giving you that same type of vacation experience seemed a natural fit. We love our renters and strive to make sure they have the ultimate vacation experience at an affordable price. We are detail oriented which will be obvious when you come to the cabin and see all of the literature, brochures and restaurant menus we have collected to make your stay both inviting and easy.

Why they chose this property

We came up to the Boone on a vacation and absolutely fell in love with the area. There was so much to do within a 15 mile radius. We bought the cabin so we could share our love of the area with others. We looked at many cabins before buying Alpine Log Cabin. When we first arrived at the property we realized that while close to LOTS of activities, it still provided the peace and serenity that many of our renters are looking for.

What makes this property unique

We were wanting to buy a cabin that reminded us of the cabins we had built at Yogi Bear's Camp Resort. We realized that the Cabin and the surrounding area provided a variety of things to see and do. We are close to Linville Caverns, a top North Carolina pick for attractions. Tweetsie Railroad is definitely another attraction that draws people into the area. The cabin was completely modern but still had that rustic "cabiny" vibe. However, if kicking back is what you are looking for, Alpine Log Cabin has that too, You have a fully stocked recreation room, three TV'S, Netflix and amazing views without ever leaving the property. You might even see one of the deer that roam the area!
