About this property

River-front Cabin is affordable retreat after hiking or skiing! Pet friendly!

Welcome to beautiful Flathead Valley, Big Mountain, and Glacier Park! We know you will have a wonderful experience and create lasting memories when you visit this lovely cabin located on the Flathead River where you can watch the deer, eagles, bears, coyotes….. and maybe the wolf or elk along the River! We’re a short drive to Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and downtown Kalispell. Rainbow’s End Vacation Cabin is the ideal location for a restful retreat or home base for adventures and exploring. You are welcome to fish from the shores of the river in front of the cabin and explore the 20 acres on which it is built!

Bring nothing but your clothes and choice of foods to eat, as everything else if provided! Rainbow’s End is designed for a family up to six, with one king bed in the master loft, and on the main floor, a queen in one bedroom, and a full with trundle in the other. Though only 8 miles from the very heart of Kalispell, this cabin feels like you are near the wilderness with ‘end of the road’ privacy.

The Cabin: The views from the cabin are simply stunning; guests love the sight of serene Flathead River, the majestic Swan Mountain Range, and the ever present wildlife. You are guaranteed to see deer, eagles, turkeys, and the occasional bear. The entire east side of the cabin is windows - a sliding glass door leads to a beautiful deck for hosting outdoor dinners in the summer and year-round stargazing . An open kitchen, dining and living area is perfect for entertaining and gatherings with loved ones. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to craft the perfect meal – cookware, small appliances, plating for 8, and much more. The comfortable living area is the ideal for getting cozy with a book, playing board games, or merely soaking in the view. A large master bedroom encompasses the loft with a king bed, a sitting area nook, and water closet. Two cozy bedrooms located on the main floor provide a queen bed, and full captain's bed with trundle. The main bathroom contains a walk-in shower and is stocked with plush towels and a hair dryer. A utility room, also on the main floor, contains a washer, dryer, ironing board, and iron. This lovely cabin was constructed in early 2014 therefore the amenities are fresh, new, and ready for you to use.

The Property: A one mile drive on a gravel road through the country will lead you to the cabin. The river boarders the east of the property, and we’ve kept the river side of our property open with a few tall trees for shade. Our property is kept natural and is not overly manicured – we love our connection with nature! The remainder of the property has a couple outbuildings for storage, and is covered with tall spruce and cottonwood trees. Guests are welcome to fish along certain sections of the riverbank or use property as a put-in or take out location for river float and fishing trips. Our location is an unspoiled place to retreat and relax to after a fun day of exploring all the region has to offer.

Recreation: Nearby recreational opportunities are endless! Guests have close and easy access to hiking, skiing (all forms), fly fishing, sport fishing, mountain biking, cycling, rock climbing, sight-seeing, bird watching, boating, whitewater rafting, and the list goes on and on. The cabin is fully stocked with games, movies, and books. A fire pit for story-telling, marshmallow roasting and stargazing is available nearly year round. The river is wild, cold, and unpredictable therefore swimming is never encouraged or recommended.

This place is wonderful! A hidden gem! Our host was delightful, helpful & knows the area well. It is about 40 minute drive into the west entrance of Glacier National Park. We were able to visit the park daily. We would love to stay here again!

Simply stunning scenery right at your doorstep!

It's a struggle to leave the front deck or stop looking out the windows! We watched turkeys, ducks, geese, watched the deer cross the river everyday and listened the coyotes call in the night. My husband enjoyed fishing right out the front door also. This is the cleanest VRBO we've ever stayed in, fully stocked with EVERYTHING you need. The owner lives next door but don't let that scare away. They are fabulous and make you not want to leave! Have a conversation with them. You won't regret it😊 if you like the outdoors and enjoy wildlife, this is the place for you. I hope to make it back one day.

Perfect cozy cabin

My family of 4 spent the end of August in this cozy cabin by the river. We've been vacationing out west for years and this by far was the nicest place we've stayed. It was incredibly clean and well stocked. The drinking water was pristine. Location wise it was a great base camp for us to explore Glacier and Montana. The cabin itself is a great retreat. The river and wildlife are amazing. Loved drinking morning coffee on the beautiful deck. My sons used their kayaks and tried some fishing. Host Glenda is amazing and so knowledgeable about the area. Hoping to be back some time soon.

Blissful Holiday

If you need a quiet place to recharge your family battery, look no further than here. Tucked away on a magnificent piece of property right on the river will have you recharged and ready to face the day. This perfect cabin and the host made us feel at home and like family. 10/10 would recommend. We are already planning our next trip back.

For Water Lovers

The cabin itself is beautifully constructed, with a view of the bend in the river that was glorious. My husband fished at the bend, and I enjoyed the ever-changing, clear, dancing water. The bed and furniture were comfortable, kitchen well-equipped, and best of all--delicious tap water--a true rarity these days. Thanks to Glenda for sharing this property!

Amazing property and Glenda makes everything easy.

Whatever description given doesn’t do this property justice. Stunning views, peaceful location and a very well kept and stocked cabin. The loft bedroom with king bed has great morning light breaking through. We had excellent wi-fi coverage the entirety of our visit so if that’s a worry before booking, take heed that we had no hiccups. The only problem was I didn’t book a long enough visit and Glenda did try and work with us to see if we could stay an extra couple days but it wasn’t in the cards this time. True gem.

Glacier hiking trip

My husband and I came out to Montana to hike in Glacier. The location was perfect for us, about a half hour from the going-to-the-sun road west entrance and close to both kalispell and whitefish for restaurants. The house was beautiful and well kept and coming back after hiking to have the river right there felt like an extension of the park. Glenda had bear spray and bug spray on hand that we could use, which was very convenient. We didn’t bring our kids with us but if we had she even had a couple dolls and trucks and books they could have played with. If we’re able to come back to Montana we will be checking to see if this property is available first!

A little slice of heaven

We had such a wonderful time at this property. The view and river were absolutely stunning. We saw deer, turkey, hummingbirds, squirrels, heard a pack of wolves the second night. Rainbows on our second night I believe and also a double rainbow our last evening there. We grilled out, we had a campfire. Went to Glacier National Park, went to the local rodeo. Just such a wonderful experience. The owners are very knowledgeable, and helpful and genuine people. We cannot wait to visit again next year ❤️🌈🌈

A little slice of heaven

My husband and I stayed at Rainbow’s End for a weekend away and it was just what we needed! The check in process couldn’t have been easier and the cabin was nice, clean and super cozy. We felt so relaxed from the moment we turned into the driveway. Coffee on the deck by the river every morning was such a dream. I loved waking up to the sunrise over the mountains every morning. Glenda had everything we could have ever needed at the cabin and we felt so refreshed when we checked out. Book this place…we will definitely stay here again!

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is even more beautiful in person. Perfect for a serene get away but not far from town at all. They have good games and movies to chose from, as well as wood for the wood burning stove. Highly recommended.

Perfect getaway

My partner and I had a wonderful stay. Glenda is just one of the kindest persons I’ve ever met. She went above and beyond and out of her way to accommodate us. The cabin is secluded except for another house but I felt so much privacy. The location is beautiful, stunning riverfront. The drive in was amazing in itself. Saw deer in the backroad leading in, drove around the riverbed, across a cute bridge, and into peace and tranquility. One of the best weekend trip experiences I’ve ever had. Thanks Glenda!

Beautiful and secluded!!

The location and cabin itself were amazing! So secluded yet close to town and all the sites to see at GNP West entrance (closest). Glenda and Robert were very hospitable and have everything you need in the cabin. If not, all you have to do is ask. They have a vast selection of informational books and brochures for Kalispell and surrounding communities. The view of the mountains, river, and wildlife outside the cabin is stunning. We enjoyed a wonderful two week stay. We highly recommend this property if heading to GNP!

Rainbow's End is a slice of heaven, located right on the Flathead River. The owners are welcoming, the property is beautiful and peaceful. The home is clean, well-stocked and beautifully maintained. Glenda and Robert also stock helpful guidebooks to the area. While we came primarily for Glacier National Park, there were many areas to explore in addition to the park. We would love to return and highly recommend.

Perfect Little Cabin on the River

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rainbow's End. Glenda was very accommodating and hospitable. I loved sitting on the back deck in the evening hours watching the moonrise and the deer on the island across the river. The only issue we had was the lack of internet accessibility (which is not wholly a bad thing); once you get to the road out front, data works. The cabin is equipped with everything you need from spices to camp chairs. Glenda suggested a great restaurant that was delicious, but we spent most of our week exploring Glacier National Park for the first time. It's amazing! (I recommend visiting during the evening hours from Logan Pass to St Mary. We saw a ton of wildlife: bears, mountain goats, bighorn sheep.) Thank you, Glenda, for a truly memorable vacation! Robert and I have lived here on the Flathead River for 33 years in the A-frame built in the '70's. I grew up in the Valley, attending Evergreen Elementary till 8th grade, and Robert is a transplant from southern Idaho. We both attended FVCC, and he graduated valedictorian in the first class of land surveyors, and is still surveying here in the Valley after a 12 year hiatus in Alaska. My family has been here in the Valley since the 1920's, with each generation moving away (or being moved away!) and coming back, irresistibly drawn by the unforgettable loveliness of this Valley. I am excited to meet the people who want to experience our Valley and enjoy it's riches! You are welcome here.

Why they chose this property

We just finished building this Amish cabin 200 feet from our 'A Frame' home, to share the lovely serenity of this place with travelers. When we bought this property, the realtor kept saying, 'They don't make places like this any more...!' and he was right. This is a unique property for your complete rest and relaxation, combined with as much adventure as you want to pack into your time here! The owners nearby give you the opportunity for fast answers to questions about things to do, places to go, ... or complete privacy, as you choose!

What makes this property unique

'Wilderness' eight miles from two city centers is a huge benefit I enjoy about this property. I used to drive 45 miles into the 'Swan' to visit friends, and I have the same feel here, so close to town. Privacy combined with close proximity to all the attractions make this a special place. (Owner's property is 200 ft. away, screened by trees.)
