About this property

Peaceful village house with large roof top terrace in Provence

House in the heart of Bedarrides, a traditional quiet small village between Avignon and Orange, close to vineyards of Southern Rhone and Chateau Neuf du Papes. Ideal base for exploring Provence. The top of the house has been converted into a very sunny large roof terrace. It has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a sitting room and shaded balcony overlooking a quiet square in the heart of the village. It sleeps 5 people (plus a cot). As it is an old house built in the traditional stone of the area, it keeps cool in the summer. There is a garage & bicycles. The village has wonderful bakeries and pastries, as well as other small shops for daily requirements. There is a children's playground near the Church a few minutes away. A river runs through the village. It has the advantage of being in a typically Provençal village which is quiet & yet has many nearby attractions including the Avignon festival and lots of children's activities from riding to adventure playground

Bedarrides is a living French town, with local shops, many bakeries and patisserie. There is one restaurant/hotel. It is on the river Ouveze. There is a weekly market by the river and there are boat trips in the summer.
The house has been recently renovated with a new roof terrace and bathroom.

great location in a very quiet & friendly village
The house is in a great location, a small, quiet village close to Avignon and within short driving distances to many places to visit in the Provence region. The neighbors were extremely friendly and very welcoming! The house was the perfect size for our family. The house is well maintained, clean and well equipped with essentials and more! We enjoyed using the bikes to explore the village, the beach chairs were perfect on the rooftop terrace and the assortment of books were great to go through at night (without a tv and internet, it was a nice break to be disconnected!). We loved how there was an incredible boulangerie just around the corner from the house. We happened to be visiting the Provence region during an extreme heat wave, so it was a bit hot at night, but we stayed cool by staying out on the rooftop terrace. The owner was incredibly helpful (especially with all the information provided about the village and the house itself) and responds very quickly to inquiries. It was a wonderful stay for our family in Bedarrides!

Stay in village house in Bedarrides, Provence
Really liked the house- great location overlooking the square. Bedarrides is a really charming little town with the advantage that it is off the tourist trail- very nice to come back to after a day sight seeing! Very friendly people which made everyday things like shopping a real pleasure. There is an excellent small market on Monday mornings and a farmers market on Friday evenings, in addition to small local shops; and an excellent newly-opened restaurant called the Presqu'ile. We particularly enjoyed the local boat trip with our own 'eco guide'- a most interesting and informative excursion. We also enjoyed going to the wine museum in Chateauneuf du Pape just up the road from Bedarrides- very interesting in itself, and followed by informal tasting sessions after the visit - the wine was so delicious that we came home with quite a few bottles! All in all a great holiday and very well placed for visiting the major tourist sites.

Great apartment in a lovely village.
We were traveling with my wife, myself and two college age girls. The size was just perfect for us. Oldest daughter upstairs, youngest daughter downstairs, and my wife and myself in the master. Plus there was room when a college friend of the girls stopped by a couple days…Nice having two bathrooms, and a nice shower and the apartment was clean and nice. Location in the Provence was a great as we were able to do day trips to Avignon, Arles, Vaison LA Romaine, L'isle Sur la Sourge etc. easily. -Very happy and everyone said that they would go back. Ideal Stay
This is an excellent house. The property was clean and clearly cared for. It was worth visiting to view the library of books alone. The balcony and roof terrace are great outdoor spaces. To have the use of bikes from the house to move around the vineyards is perfect. Bedarrides is tourist free yet Avignon, Mont Ventoux, Sault, The Ardeche valley, the Nesque and Toulourenc Gorges, Orange, Chateauneuf-du-pape and the Isle sur la Sorgue market (Sunday) is near. This would be a great place to come and write, swim (see the fabulous public pool at Chateauneuf-Du-Pape) and relax on the terrace. One of the cafes in the village serves an excellent three course lunch and there are a couple of nice bars for a six o'clock aperitif. The owner is an efficient and a kind person. This is a perfect getaway place. The house at Rue Des Tisserands is highly recommended. Dr. Rob Harding, London
