Jane's house is beautiful and full of character. With trees all around and a short walk from a waterfall, this is a perfect getaway from the city.
Jane and Christopher were very available and happy to help above and beyond.
We had a lovely stay in a beautiful old historic house, the fireplaces were well stocked with dry wood and it was every bit as cozy as we had hoped. Jane was very communicative and it had everything we needed.

Nice location, old, interesting house, quiet (could be a bit cleaner)
We stayed 2 nights - a family of 5 - lots of space - quiet location in the woods
a lot of stuff lying around in the kitchen though - a bit outdated and as I mentioned in the title it could be cleaner - lots of spiderwebs

From arrival to departure, we remained very content with Jane' place.
The space is perfect for cabin lovers. 3 fireplaces. WOW. Jane left ample wood supply, as well as linens, even food.

Lovely old house but needed better preparation
Lovely old house, interesting artwork, very nice useable fireplaces, great walks nearby along the creek, very nice owner.
Disappointing preparation for our stay, though we did make our arrangements only a week ahead. Closets and dressers were full so we couldn't unpack our luggage, and bedroom lighting was dim so we couldn't see inside our suitcases. Refrigerator was packed so we could not easily fit our food in. Kitchen appliances and accessories were old. We had a very nice stay, and enjoyed playing games during the evening in front of the fireplace.

About the host
Hosted by Jane Toby
I am a Senior, semi-retired, Italian teacher and poet. This home has offered me a refuge to be able to think, imagine and compose. I also love being with family and friends and this home has been a perfect place to spend memorabler times together.
Why they chose this property
I bought this house and property a little over 20 years ago. I was looking for a place that resembled what gave me the greatest delight in my childhood - fields and woods, trees, clear- running brooks -all lost where I had spent my earliest years - lost in the name of 'progress.' Just delighted to find those elements of nature that I loved so much here on Mossy Hill Road in the Catskills.
What makes this property unique
Experience living in a quiet spot with fields and woods surrounding. Enjoy picnicking or grilling outside. Or retire with a book - there are lots of books here for guests to enjoy!
