Idyllic riverside 2 bedroomed gite in midst of quiet Breton countryside
Right next to the peaceful River Aulne near Quimper in Brittany, Gîte du Vert Rivage at Stang Korvenn is the perfect place to completely relax and enjoy Brittany's unique rural culture and variety.
There's direct access to the river, which forms part of the Nantes - Brest canal, with cycling, fishing, swimming and walking. The stunning beaches of the Breton coasts to west and south are within easy reach, and so are many excellent golf courses. The north coast and the ferry port of Roscoff are just over an hour away, and the miles of empty surrounding roads that sweep through the countryside are a motorcyclist's dream. The gîte is conveniently placed near the quiet main road to Quimper, enabling easy access to many wonderful destinations.
Stang Korvenn is a traditional Breton long farmhouse or longère that has been extensively renovated to combine modern living with rustic charm (complete with free Wifi), set in three acres of secluded and fenced wooded gardens, great for children to run around in and explore.
Available for holiday rental all year round, Le Gite du Vert Rivage (Greenbank cottage) can sleep 4 people in 2 generously sized bedrooms, plus a cot if requested for an infant. There is also space for an extra adult or child to sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge.

About the host

Jilly and I come from Bristol in the UK and took advantage of redundancy from our jobs in health and social care to move to this corner of paradise in September 2013. We have 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren who love to come and visit, and we love to see them. We also love meeting people and sharing this place with them. Many people have returned for several visits, and that is such a bonus for us. We appreciate that people wish to be independent and don't want intrusion from us, but we also know guests like to have us available to advise on places to visit, or sort out any problems that may arise.
Why they chose this property
We brought our children to Brittany when they were little and have always loved its countryside, coasts and culture. Not too hot in the summer, it is similar in climate to southwest England, but a couple of degrees warmer. Spring and Autumn can be particularly beautiful, as well as being even more peaceful and quiet out of the high season.
What makes this property unique
This traditional stone and timber built farmhouse and grounds appeals to nature lovers and those who enjoy the outdoors. The nearby road allows you to access a breathtaking range of places to visit within a 45 minute radius, and motoring on the winding empty roads is a joy. Cyclists also love this place, as you can cycle for hundreds of kilometres along the canal without touching a road.
