This rental was the perfect size for our family with a 6-year-old and dog. We were so close to beach which is very dog friendly. We were also right next to the pool. Stores and restaurants nearby as well. We will definitely book this place again.
This was a great little cottage. Open floor plan helped to keep it from feeling small. The community pool was just across the parking area and it was very clean. Enjoyed reading out on the back deck most days. Will definitely consider staying again.
We really enjoyed our time at Surfcrest Village and in St. Augustine! The easy beach access, cozy house, and great location made for a fun family vacation.
Nice, Cozy Cottage with a great covered back porch
Older & a bit dated home. Satisfied our basic needs though. Nice having the outdoor, private shower. Great selection of games & cards! Almost too small of a space for myself, husband, mom & 6 year old. Only having 1 bathroom was challenging. If there was a master suite with its on bathroom that would be Ideal! Would possibly stay here again if no more than 2 adults were staying. The 1 bathroom/ shower really needs updating. We had issues with the toilet from the time we arrived. It was constantly running. My husband repaired it once, maintenance worker repaired it once & it continously gave us issues the entire stay. Got woken up to a loud clicking noise 1 morning due to a piece of ice being lodged side ways in the ice maker. Had to call maintenance man out once again because we didn't want to break it. It was generally clean for the most part but could use a good deep cleaning, dusting & much cleaner floors. The floors were so slick that my husband actually fell. There was also only a total of 4 washcloths so we had to do laundry every day.
Fairly easy & quick walk to the beach. Facilities were decently maintained. Nice, average pool.
Thank You for an overall Nice, Enjoyable stay!

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Stuck in the 80's.
No as featured , not clean found potato chips and fries under couch. Master bed old and sheets do not fit bed, bedspread filthy. Lacking in kitchen items. Have to open oven to open drawer in kitchen. Needs a good ckeaning
Overall the cottage is adorable, we had everything we needed provided and the walk to the beach was super short.
We found animal hair on the couch and some stray dog food on the floor. I wish they would have cleaned the floors better since I have a crawling baby but we found everything else acceptable.
We had a great time! Cottage was clean and very spacious. Location and access to the beach was outstanding. Enjoyed the nice pool as well. Hope to return soon.
Amazing location but 50 year old linens and a bed that sucked you into an abyss
The location was amazing. Super close to the beach and close to the pool . . . and we were so glad the pool was not closed as many others were. Lots of amazing food nearby (definitely you should try Beachcomber). The house was exactly like pictured but here is what I didn't like . . . . so . . . . the first night there I went to make the pull out bed. I get sofa beds are not the most comfortable but this was like sleeping on cardboard. Not only that there were NO SHEETS for the pull out bed. All the sheets in the house were my great great grandmothers and nothing was labeled either. I went through 6 different sets of sheets before I just threw a blanket on the bed to use as a sheet. All of the linens were just old and wore out. Owner should replace all of the sheets and towels and have them properly labeled for guests.
We also stayed for 2.5 weeks and did not get a discount for multiple night stays and received basic things (trash bag, toilet paper, soap, dish soap, dish tabs etc) as if we were only staying one day. I could have checked in and checked out daily had our necessities replenished and house cleaned for the same rate I paid (which was more than was listed on the flyer taped to their counter top - 40% more than advertised).
Lastly, the master bed had a 6 inch foam pillow top. It just sucked you in. Definitely the most strangest thing I have slept on. Also expect below average internet connection and the tv's to not work . . . but you are on the beach so who needs internet and a TV!
Totally understand this is not a high end hotel, but the little things go a long way to make guests happier about their stay. Outside of those things it was an amazing time with my family.
It was great staying here. We are own little cottage and it was a very nice set up. Short walk to the beach and not an overcrowded condo.

Great Place for Spring Break
We visit St. Augustine every year, and we've rented numerous properties here over the years, all of which have been terrific in their own way. But this property was probably the best we have experienced.
We really liked the decor and the openness of the cottage, and that it had everything we needed. It's only a minute walk to the pool and a few minutes' walk to the beach. The outdoor shower was really cool as well. But what we liked the most was the porch area--all the breakfasts and dinners we had at the condo took place out on the porch, and we loved sitting out on the porch with morning coffee or evening "not coffee."
We hope to return to this property again soon, and we think it's a "can't miss" for anyone looking for a place to stay at the beach.
