Comfortable, cosy and well equipped, the former cart-shed is modern on the inside but traditional moorland farm on the outside. This welcoming holiday home is blessed with superb panoramic views from the garden whose peace can be enjoyed with a BBQ, sitting by the firepit and the natural running water. It is attached to a working organic beef farm. Animal housing is half a mile distant, and cows graze outside May-Nov.
The barn is always booked for Sole Use and can be used by couples, families, friends, or colleagues when 10 people share the dorm that can be split into 3 areas by curtains. Please bring a duvet or sleeping bag each.
Stag and hen do's will not be accommodated due to previous negative experience.
The living room is a great space for cooking, eating, socialising and relaxing where the very large double glazed windows give out onto rural pastures. The self-catering kitchen is fully equipped. A TV is provided and WiFi via Superfast Broadband is free of charge.
The washroom is smart and modern with 2 showers, 2 basins and 3 toilets. Every room is kept spotlessly clean.
The owners are welcoming and friendly and will leave you to enjoy your own company in this truly exceptional setting. The party wall with the farmhouse is fully soundproofed.
Responsible dog owners are welcome (one dog per booking), but the farm animals must be respected. It is important to pick up all dog dung as it can carry diseases to cattle and humans.
Attractive seaside spots are all 20-30 minutes away: Whitby, Runswick Bay, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay. York, Scarborough and Middlesbrough are all 50 minutes drive. There is a train station in Glaisdale on the Esk Valley (Mbro-Whitby) line that links to the steam line operated between Whitby-Grosmont-Pickering, a train spotter's delight. And the moors are on the doorstep, so there is no need to take the car for great walks or cycle rides. The National Parks Moors Centre at Danby is 15 minutes drive or a morning's walk away and local pubs pride themselves on hearty dining.
