A pretty and compact cottage with a nice cosy feel . Well equipped with most things required for a pleasant stay . We found plenty of walks in the area and Aubeterre sur Dronne was a pretty little village with a good restaurant . The Intermarche at Chalais was good for food shopping and Fuel .
Had a great stay at Beaumont - house was lovely and we spent 7 days exploring the area - lovely quiet rural location with the benefit of having a swimming pool and decking area to enjoy the sun
Had a fantastic stay in this beautiful, clean and well equipped gite, it had everything you could need in a home from home.
A gas bbq was a welcome treat.
The view across the valley was spectacular, especially whilst relaxing in the private pool.
David and Amanda were perfect hosts, communication before and during our stay was excellent.
Look forward to returning sometime.

Great house and well equipped. Had all we needed - fridge for food and fridge for wine!
The place was perfect for us, only a 5minute drive to the nearest town meant a relaxing getaway. So rural and relaxing.
Loved everyday!
We loved our beautiful holiday home from the moment we stepped in. Very welcoming with so many personal touches. If you want to escape from it all and just watch the wonderful French countryside change with the hour of the day, then this place is the perfect spot. Thank you for sharing your charming home with us.
The property was really nice and in a lovely quiet location with top views but still only from main road and towns of Chalais and Aubettere.
The property was well equipped with everything that you would need. Property owners were really helpful from the point of booking. Have already recommended to work colleagues and friends in the UK.
Lovely little cottage, well renovated, with everything you might need for a pleasant stay near the little market town of Chalais. We were visiting nearby family for Christmas and arrived in the middle of a severe cold snap, but once the log burner was going it was very cosy in the cottage, and a lovely place to spend Christmas away from it all. I can imagine how fantastic it would be to be here in the summer! Easy parking, quiet location, lots of space, all the mod-cons you might need and close to the beautiful town of Aubeterre. Perfect!
We have just come back from a fantastic stay at a beautiful property with hosts who I cannot recommend enough.
The cottage was spotless on arrival and fully prepared with everything you could need for you stay.
We were even left a welcome gift for our arrival.
The location is wonderful and peaceful without being too detached - some lovely local towns to visit. A stunning spot with views all around.
Perhaps my only nitpick - and a very very minor one - the photos of the pool do not show that you have to cross the road to get to it. The pool is located behind the propertys barn just across the access road. Having young kids with us - it meant we were unable to leave them playing as if the pool were directly on the property grounds. A very minor issue though as the area is so quiet it never felt an issue to dash over the road to grab drinks etc.
The courtyard area is lovely for eating outside and enjoying the weather - lovely and quiet for a stargaze at night too.
Amanda and David were fantastic hosts - great communication in the run up. When we had a couple of issues during our stay - a breakage on our part and me having a moment on how to get the oven gas supply - David was fast, clear and helpful with assistance.
I cannot recommend highly enough.
Thanks for helping us make a great summer holiday!
7 of us were staying in the cottage for a family wedding nearby and the property was perfect location wise and in space :) The house was very homely and had everything we could of ever have needed and more! The surrounding area of fields of sunflowers and countryside was stunning. It was secluded enough to get some peace and quiet but also only a five min drive away from the village of Chalais which was great for nipping to the shops and visiting the markets :) A wonderful week in a beautiful home Xx
We arrived very early, but Amanda was very understanding and arranged for us to enter the property which was much appreciated.
The house was lovely and well presented, however with us staying for two weeks the grounds when we left had started to look a bit neglected, I feel the grass at least could have been cut during our stay.
The pool area in the listing has very good artistic license, although the view is nice the pool liner is very tired and the table area not very appealing.
However over all we had a good time.

Ruim, gezellig, compleet ingericht. Zwembad prima, Engelse tv prima

Lovely house, very well equipped, really is a home from home. Fabulous views across the valley.
This property is much more luxurious than your average gite. It has a large kitchen diner which is great for family dining. The kids will love the pool area which has views to die for. Only a few minutes drive to supermarkets and some very good restaurants. We had a great stay even though the weather wasn’t great.

Lovely property in a peaceful location. The Cotswolds but warmer.
The house has everything you would expect for everyday living. It is clean and comfortable. A house with character, a comfortable space to be in.

We live in Norfolk where we brought up our three sons. We are thrilled to have been able to purchase our dream French House having fallen in love with it on a trip back to the UK from Spain. We have recently created a Facebook page for Beaumont where we post photos and things of interest about Beaumont and the area so feel free to search for Chez Lewis Beaumont on Facebook.
Why they chose this property
We weren't intending to buy a property but we saw Beaumont and loved the fabulous views and the sheltered courtyard - perfect for dining and lounging in. The house had a great friendly feel to it with oak beams, wooden and tiled floors. Having collected vintage French linens and other bits of brocante I was thrilled to have some where to use them.
What makes this property unique
The above ground pool has the most wonderful views and the hamlet is quiet. At night the skies are beautiful and clear - perfect for star gazing. The house is south facing so the sun floods in all day.
