We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. The hosts responded promptly and the views were spectacular.
We brought our kids (two teenagers) for a holiday getaway and absolutely loved it. The layout is great, with comfortable seating in the living room and dining area. All three bedrooms are very comfortable with private baths, and the view from the expansive porch is incredible (especially sunrises in the morning). Location is also excellent. It feels very private, and it’s only 30 mins to Asheville. All in all, this is one of the best houses we’ve rented in the NC mountains.
We had a great week after Christmas at this property. House was extremely clean and all linens were luxury quality. Short drive into Asheville or any of the surrounding mountain areas provide lots of entertainment. Highly recommend!
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. As my wife has told our friends, this was probably the first house where we did not feel let down from the pictures. House was clean, well taken care of, just perfect. Truly enjoyed just sitting outside, taking in the scenery while enjoying family time. Even the teenagers enjoyed sitting outside with the parents.
My wife and I stayed here in June of 2022 and loved it. The home is beautiful, has most everything you would expect to find in your own home and has an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. Being in a gated community we felt safe, especially important since this is the last house at the highest point on Fremont road. This was our second one week vacation and we hope to make it an annual trip. Thank you Troy and Charlie
We were really excited, and we enjoyed staying there. It was a really make yourself at home kind of vibe. The house was spacious, beautiful, and astonishing. The location is perfect, high in the Mountain, in a private gated community. The sunrise was one of the best we have ever seen, regardless of the weather, we enjoyed having breakfast outdoors to admire the amazing view. You have lots of options to eat at downtown or near by, Red Ginger, Green Tea, Ukiah, and Itto Ramen will give you a wide variety if you love Asian food; you must go to Sunset Terrace, at Omni Gove Park, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset while having dinner. There are also many options for beer lovers, so hard to choose from so many good breweries. Can't forget to mention the French Broad Chocolate Factory, a must visit place. You can also enjoy a nice horseback ride, we went to Smoky Mountain Trails, visit the Biltmore Gardens, or go for a Zipline/TreeTop adventure at the Asheville Adventure Park Center, and at the end of your vacations you'll feel the need to come back because there are still so many great things to do. We are definitely coming back!!!
Enjoyed time with family in this gorgeous property. All 3 sleeping areas were just the right fit for everyone to have their own private retreat for the evening. Fully stocked kitchen was nice. And waking up to a Iight dusting of snow was a bonus.
Quiet neighborhood and amazing views. The neighborhood had hiking trails which my girls and enjoyed exploring. Just 45 min from downtown Asheville… perfect location.
Property was as advertised. Beautiful home at top of the mountain. Well equipped kitchen. Great floor plan and comfortably furnished. We had a wonderful stay and would probably stay there again when visiting family in Asheville. The only disappointment was not being able to use the firepit or the fireplace (both are gas operated). If I expected colder weather, I would probably look for a different place for that reason only.
Serene setting with spectacular views! The home was well kept and spacious for our family stay. All of the outdoor seating was wonderful as well. Would enjoy staying here again.
The main floor of the house was perfect for my elderly father to get around. Everything was well-maintained, clean and beautiful. The kitchen is well-stocked and all of the beds were comfortable. The view is out of this world. This trip will be one we will never forget and we would love to return.
Pictures don’t express the beauty of this property. Favorite part of each day was going from the stillness quiet of the night to breath taking sunrise and birdsong. Sweet fresh air and comfort all around. The beds, linens, and decor were all superb and brought us from our busy hustle bustle lives to relaxing calm. Home was impeccably clean and welcoming. Perfect place for a couples getaway or quality time with friends and family.
House was very clean and perfect for our stay. Host was very prompt in responding to any questions. Morning sunrise is spectacular and the outdoor seating areas enabled all enjoyment of the beautiful area. Can’t wait to stay again.
Beautiful views from the front porch of the sunrise and mountains. House is well laid out and has everything you could need. Owners were very responsive to any questions. We had a wonderful time!
Beautiful home, spectacular views with amazing sunrises and sunsets. Covered deck was perfect for still being outside when it drizzled/rained. Well stocked kitchen plus the many little extras made our stay more enjoyable. Charlie was wonderful with her communications. You really felt like you were in someone's home. Lots of personal touches and quality items. Nice floor plan, bedrooms on the main floor were spread out from each other, a plus that each bedroom had it's own private bathroom in addition to a common power room on the main floor, comfortable beds and pillows. There is not one thing to complain or be negative about, it was all simply wonderful. You won't be disappointed staying at this home. Will stay again if the opportunity presents itself. Thank you Charlie for sharing your home with us!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the mountain top. It was like staying at a private mountain as we were the only ones around. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only issue we had was with the bees and wasps.....wow there are a lot of them up there.
Secluded beautiful home on top of Whisper Mountain. If you are looking for a quiet setting, look no further.
You’ll find this beautiful house is comfortably set on a mountain top and is surrounded by nature. This home is perfect to watch the sunrise and listen to the birds. Charlie, the owner, was very responsive and was very helpful.
Every morning began with coffee outside on one of the covered decks while watching the phenomenal sunrise. The views are breathtaking and ever changing during the day. The multiple decks allowed us to enjoy the outdoors very comfortably. The outdoor dining area was lovely. We found the temperatures on the mountain top were at least 5 degrees cooler than in Asheville.
The house: is laid out for privacy and is spacious, comfortable and beautiful. Three very comfortable bedrooms – each with a full private bathroom. One bedroom even has a private deck.
The kitchen is perfect for foodies and the living room is oh so comfortable with a very large TV. A big dining table inside, too.
Downtown Asheville: about a 30-minute drive from the house along the countryside on a winding road.
Food Stores: You’ll find Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods in Asheville. Ingle’s supermarket is the closest, but if you drive about 10 minutes more you’ll find Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods near one another in Asheville.
Suggestions on what to see and do: If you decide to leave the mountain, be sure to begin with the Gray Line Trolley Tours of Asheville. Park at the Asheville Visitor Center for free and begin your tour there. Drop by the Visitor Center – you’ll find lots of information for various things to do in the area. A ticket for the Trolley tour gives you the opportunity to jump on-and-off at many locations to explore. Be sure to drive to The North Carolina Arboretum and the Folk Art Center to explore.
Bring a good book, board games or cards. This house was built for enjoyment and relaxation. I promise you it will be difficult to leave this beautiful home.

What makes this property unique
We love hiking the endless trail system at Whisper Mountain. Much of it follows Whisper Creek. We spend alot of time on the porches of this home.
