About this property

On the coast path to Pembs Premier surf Beach and Pembroke castle

The cottage is situated in an idyllic part of West Wales, which is very close to one of Wales premier surf beaches. Built in 1890 as an Almshouse, with its thick stone walls, and wooden beams the property lends itself well, to a more traditional style of interior design. On entering you are immediately greeted by an open plan arrangement, which makes use of the large bay window and south facing aspect, to create a pleasant ambience of calmness and tranquillity.
A fully equipped kitchen and large comfortable lounge with its charming fireplace and log burner, provides the perfect setting to dine on that freshly caught mackerel.
Two large bedrooms with double beds and an adjoining smaller child’s bedroom with bunk beds, means that up to four adults and two children can be easily accommodated at any one time. The yard at the rear catches the morning sun and provides a nice place to enjoy your breakfast whilst planning the day’s activities.
There is ample room for parking to the front of the property and a grassed area for the children/dogs to play. Just the other side of the hedge boundary is a play park with swings and slides for extra playtimes.

Family friendly cottage, great location to explore the stunning Pembrokeshire coast

Lovely clean cottage, our boys loved the toys. We loved the fire place after days out at the beach and exploring the breathtaking coast. A lovely home from home.

Great little cottage

We had a lovely weekend away in this cottage. Overall the cottage is lovely, it was easy to book, check in and communicate with the owner. The children loved all the toys and games which made a cold wet December stay with children easy. The only negatives I have to say is that I booked this over other cottages because it had 3 bedrooms. However, only 2 of the bedrooms were made up. There are only 4 of us but we booked because we needed separate bedrooms. When I saw this on arrival I messaged the owner who told me they only made up beds for the number of guests. This was very disappointing as I would have specified which beds we wanted made up had we been asked but we weren’t. Also the only other negative I have to say is that there is no way of turning on the heating before 8am or during the day time. In the middle of December that isn’t ideal and without the log fire we would have froze! Luckily we were only there for 1 full day or we would have run out of wood and then be expected to purchase extra ourselves. I don’t want these negative comments to take away from on the whole what is a lovely little cottage. If these issues were not there I could not fault the place.

Beautiful cottage in a pretty setting

Really pretty property, plenty of space indoor and out. Loads of games and books. Completely kitted out, everything you could possibly need. Loved the area too. St Govan’s chapel is a must see. Lots of lovely beaches close by.

Short break

Booked a 3 day break to see a bit of Wales and booked this lovely cosy cottage near some stunning beaches. This is an ideal spot to relax, walk and enjoy a bottle of wine by a cosy log burner in the evening. Barafundle beach, fresh water beach , St David’s cathedral and Narberth are a must. The cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped will definitely come again.

Great cottage, very well presented and equipped. No negatives on the cottage. The only slight down side, no shop within walking distance. We would definitely recommend it.

Property was very clean. Owners communicated before day of arrival with checking in and was very clear. Location was easy to find and just a few minutes away from a lovely beach. Really enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends and family. Keen to return during the warmer weather.

Nice house, unfortunately backyard not very inviting.

The surroundings are amazing. We were lucky with the weather and made trips to the beaches and steep coasts (Marloes Sands, Freshwater West, Green Bridge of Wales, Barafundle Bay...) every day. Everything is easily accessible from the house.

Great location

Delightful little cottage. Welcome pack of goodies really lovely touch Didn’t realise there was no door between the bedrooms upstairs. So slept downstairs. But was a very comfortable sofa bed. Kitchen well-stocked and dishwasher very useful. Great to have an outside hanging area for wet things. The only downside was that we were not able to eat out in the evening as we were plagued with flies. I think the glass table attracted them. Perfect location for exploring the most southern part of Pembrokeshire. Lots of helpful leaflets left for us to use. The nearby Stackpole Inn is excellent for food.

Lovely home

I imagined that we would walk out of the house onto the dunes - not sure where that assumption came from but the local beach about five mins drive was perfect for zoomies with our pooch. the ground floor bed is needs Uncomfortable and squeaky so glad we only stopped for a couple nights.. other than that the house was lovely!

Nice and Cozy :)

A really nice cozy little cottage, a really nice touch when Caroline added a loaf of bread, eggs and milk ready for our arrival. Over and above! Thank you again Caroline :) Some lovely beaches nearby and close to anywhere else you might want to visit when in Pembrokeshire. Next time we stay we'll book for longer.

Great short stay - cute little cottage - perfect location to beach

Just got back from a long weekend stay here. The cottage is in a small village only 10/15 mins drive from Pembroke and a 5 min drive from Freshwater West Beach which is the main reason we picked this location. The beach is great, and vast! We did beach walks and cliff top walks and even when the weather wasn't kind to us it was still worth it for the views - and wearing the dog out! If you have a dog this is a great cottage. Our dog was really settled here and there was a lovely doggy welcome pack for us when we got there. There's also a park just by the house so very handy. There was also some bread, milk and eggs, and welsh cakes of course! Such a nice gesture and really handy for a short weekend so thank you so much for that. The kitchen is lovely - very country cottage - the only thing is the pictures on the oven have warn off so it was guessing that we had it on correctly and at what temperature but other than that lovely. The one thing I will say about this cottage is that as it all flows and is lovely open plan you can hear everything. I personally liked this as you feel connected but I don't think I could have managed if I went with a group. Lovely cottage though and a real homey feel about it. We did try and make a fire as it was a bit chilly but we didn't have enough wood to get it going but I imagine it to be idyllic in winter. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to others going. Thank you for providing such lovely accommodation for our weekend.

Lovely warm and clean cottage. Very thoughtful welcome pack for humans and dogs and much appreciated

What a lovely find. We've never been to Pembrokshire before and we fell in love with the area. Every day it's hard to choose between huge sandy beaches, stunning National Trust area at Bosherton and very pretty towns. Being near to the military range was hugely exciting when the army were carrying out their excercises. Visit Cafe Mor at Freshwater West but only open unti l the end of September and then re-opens next year. The best bacon buns. Go to The Stackpole in for excellent food. Our week was the perfect relaxation and get away from it all.

The perfect place to get away from it all....and surf.

A superb cottage to spend some time away from the rat race. The cottage is warm and cosy and well equipped. The dog treats provided by the owners were an added bonus and our furry friends appreciated them greatly. Although the cottage feels remote you are very close to amazing beaches that are all dog friendly and great for surfing and body boarding. Cafe Mor at Freshwater West is a must with the most amazing crab sandwiches. A short drive will take you to Broad Haven beach and Barafundle Bay which are equally fab. We have a 6 year old and there is plenty to do in the area so there was no time to get bored, with trips to Pembroke Castle, Quad biking and going on a Seal Safari out of Tenby. The owners were great and available when we had queries and many thanks go to them for the eggs, milk, bread etc on arrival. Overall a cracking break was had by all.

Lovely quirky quiet cottage.

Thanks for having us at your lovely holiday cottage, we loved our few days staying, the children and the dogs are worn out from all the beautiful walks we did. Freshwater west and East beaches were beautiful. The cottage was lovely, clean and well equipped. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others. We only wish we had stayed longer. Many thanks The Munday's Shropshire

Lovely & peaceful but close proximity to lovely beaches!

Property is done up to a lovely standard inside, it is so quiet that only sounds you can hear are the birds and the sea! Short drive to Freshwater West beach which is lovely and a fab sunset to be had! Also, not far from stunning Barrafundle Bay and even Tenby etc not too far a drive. Perfect location to see the wonders of Pembrokeshire. Adults & children (& JAc the dog) all enjoyed their stay - the toys in the bedroom were a hit with the children and the welcome hamper (welsh cakes, eggs, milk, bread and fruit) was a lovely touch. Thank you!

Excellent location but ill equipped and poorly laid out

The lack of internal doors in this property is a problem. The stairs from the living area lead directly into the bunk bed room and then straight into the double room. With no door and the mirror placed as it is, there is no privacy. There is also no way to block noise to any other area of the property. In the living area, the table blocks the view to the TV so only 2 people can sit comfortably on the sofa. The others need to sit at the dining table. The kitchen was very poorly equipped, no oven proof dishes, cracked serving crockery, scratched and marked pudding basin and measuring jug. The glasses are placed so high that at 5ft I could only reach the front few. The oven no longer has clear markings on it and no instructions were provided. The property was supposed to have a table tennis table. It didn't and when we queried it were told that it "had been damaged". No apology and no effort to forewarn us or to replace it. Clothes airer was so broken it barely stood. No face towels provided. Chimney clearly not capped. We had a live bird trapped in the wood burner which we had to rescue. Tastefully decorated and location was excellent for local beaches. The firing range despite being in use during the week caused us no problems and was not disruptive in any way.

Well equipped cottage ideal for children and dogs! With the nearby playground just round the corner.

Lovely beaches close by and a good pub at Stackpole.Lovely walks. Frequent bombing and firing from nearby military range was quite unexpected. We did find the downstairs furniture quite shabby and uncomfortable. We noticed the comments book in the cottage had numerous requests for hob instructions that had still not been provided. Very nice to have milk and some fruit and Welsh cakes as a welcome gift. Lovely part of the country.

Lovely peaceful cottage with all mod cons? A perfect spot for dogs and walkers

Very comfortable cottage with lovely wood burner . Once unpacked you quickly felt relaxed . Lovely local beech 5 mins down the road. Surrounded by countryside, a quiet spot with only the dawn chorus to wake you! Stack pole is close by with an extraordinary Inn that serves wonderful fish and local meat. The weather was stunning for April which made the whole trip extra special. Hope to be back soon .

The cottage is very well presented and cosy with log fire. Everything you need was available.

Stayed in the cottage for 3 nights in March and although the weather could have been a little better, it didn't stop us and our dog having a good time. The cottage is well located for visiting the many beaches and other attractions in Pembrokeshire and is ideal for exploring the coastal path.
