About this property
Valley View @ The Hideaway Farmhouse, Amandola, Le Marche
Are you looking for a chance to experience 'real' Italy & get away from it all? Well The Hideaway is your perfect holiday retreat. Our beautiful farmhouse is in the heart of the Le Marche countryside near Amandola & is surrounded by nature, with peaceful valley views.
We have 3 High Quality Apartments which have been traditionally renovated - cotto flooring & wooden beams accompany modern day necessities, including wi-fi throughout! Everything is provided to ensure you have an enjoyable stay with extra special touches such as a welcome hamper, hair dryer, pool towels & toiletries.
Set in 2.5 acres, you can relax in the garden, chill out on a hammock, play games or laze in the pool before a busy day exploring the unspoilt Sibillini area . Nature lovers will be amazed by eagles, wild boar & porcupines nearby & the clear night sky.
Sample delicious local cuisine & wine (of course) & visit one of the many colourful festivals. With hilltop towns to explore, museums, theatres, mountain walks & endless outdoor activities, there really is something for everyone.
Your beautiful two bedroomed, well appointed self-catering apartment is situated upstairs in our 17th century farmhouse with views over the peaceful countryside & woodland & sleeps up to 4 guests.
Everything is provided to ensure your stay with us is a memorable one. With your own private entrance via the covered loggia & an area for dining & relaxing outside, you enter the living room with comfy armchair & double sofa bed, satellite TV, DVD, CD player, games & books for your entertainment.
The separate fully-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, Nespresso machine, four burner gas hob, fridge. freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetierre, stick blender, plenty of glassware, crockery & cooking utensiles & a dining area. There is a washing machine next door, with airer, iron & ironing board & a weekly use is included. If you require more than one wash a week, a small charge will be made for any additional use. For stays of more than 7 nights, towels & linen are changed at the end of your first week.
Your romantic master bedroom with comfy double bed & luxury bedding has views over Montefalcone & wooden beams & internal shutters for a very peaceful nights sleep. In fact we have had guests who didn't wake up till midday as it was so dark & cosy! Also included is a safe & hairdryer, wardrobe, bedside tables & chest of drawers.
The second bedroom has two single beds & wardrobe & is idea for children. Your bathroom has a shower, wc, wash basin & complimentary toiletries, with amazing views from the loo.
A welcome pack is provided to get your holiday underway, including a bottle of delicious wine waiting for you on arrival! We grow many beautiful herbs and vegetables in the garden which are available when in season, for you to use during your stay at The Hideaway.
Outside there is a terrace for relaxing, gazebos for dining & socialising & our large garden provides areas for chilling out, reading & BBQing or swimming in the pool (from May - September).
We live in the house next door & can be reached easily if you need any help or advice.
Our beautiful area is delightful in every season, so why not try a different time of year for a change?
In Spring, the magical carpets of flowers on the mountains of the Sibillini National Park are simply stunning. With wild orchids, narsissi, cyclamen and violets, they are a photographers delight. If you love hiking then the mild spring temperatures makes exploring the mountains easier than in the heat of the summer. The Spring blossom of almond, cherry and apple and fresh greens of the new tree growth are beautiful.
There are many great markets to visit and festivals all around. You will even find a Frog Racing Festival! Easter Celebrations to attend. Any rain tends to come in brief shower and there is usually still snow on the mountain tops.
In Autumn we have the the ideal temperatures for hiking or cycling in the Sibillini Mountains once again and the ever-changing Autumn colours are simply stunning.
Then there is the grape harvest in September and a visit to our local vineyard is a must. With an interesting museum of old wine making equipment and vats you will be shown how the wine used to be produced and how it is produced now. Then of course there is the free wine tasting - try the Vin Cotto - it's delicious!
November is the olive harvest and a visit to the local press in an interesting experience. You can even take part helping to pick and process the olives.
Other Autumn festivals include, Apiro (near Cingoli) & Fermo - Sagra della polenta, Montecassiano - Sagra del pesce (fish), Cupramontana - grape festival in the heart of Verdicchio wine country in September, Piandimileto (near Urbino) - Mushroom fair, Lapedona (near Fermo) - Sagra del Vino Cotto (don't miss this one!), Arcevia - Sagra dell'uva (grape festival)
As Winter arrives, snow falls and the crisp white descends all around. The roads are kept immaculate and even on our local lane, the snow plough clears the road several time a day if necessary.
With skiing and snow-boarding nearby at Sassotetto and the new ski lodge, the runs are suitable for beginners & intermediates. There is even a baby run (for children and the less adventurous adults!).
Our local Boxing Day Live Nativity must not be missed - complete with live animals, music, candle-light and costumes of the time - simply magical.
Try truffle hunting - a speciality of the Amandola region. We can arrange truffle hunting trips or even wild boar hunting.
So whatever the season, each has it's own, beautiful qualities and will be sure to delight you.
