A wonderful place for a large family gathering in the hills of Tuscany. The view is stupendous and the setting is green and peaceful. Farmhouse feel and close to nature. So much to do in the area from small local Trattoria to Arezzo, Siena and Florence. The hosts, Giuseppe and Marina are friendly and helpful and even set up a Tuscan cooking evening for us. We had 20 family members from 9 months to 91 and all had a great time. Many happy memories.
It was a super nice stay in a house with enough space for all our families to be together, yet have enough room to be apart sometimes. Guiseppe and Marina were super nice.
We recently stayed at this property for 2 1/2 weeks to celebrate our 60th birthdays with our family and friends. We had an amazing experience with Giuseppe and Marina. Prior to arriving they were very helpful, providing information on activities, car rentals, cooking classes etc. When we arrived we were welcomed like we were family, with a bottle of wine and fresh fruit from their trees.
The Villa was beautiful! It was renovated to perfection. The rooms were large and everything was spotless. The commercial kitchen had everything we needed and more. The grounds were spectacular with olive trees, fresh fruit trees and lavender. The infinity pool was beautiful, we really enjoyed the pool after a day of touring.
The location of the villa is about 20 minutes from Arezzo, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Florence and an hour from Sienna. We visited many towns and drove about hour to most. On the last day we were fortunate enough to go to The Paleo in Sienna which was such a life experience.
Giuseppe and Marina lived in the villa and we were so happy they were there. They helped us with scheduling restaurant's and wineries etc. Marina did a cooking class for our group which was so much fun. When we left we felt like we were leaving family.
If you are looking for a beautiful villa, wonderful hosts in an amazing setting I would highly recommend this villa. There is nothing worse than going so far away and being disappointed, I promise you that you won't be disappointed. The pictures of this property don't do it justice!
Our family of 18 people ages 3 to 75 were really comfortable here. We especially appreciated the swimming pool and kitchen. The bedroom s and bathrooms were excellent. The owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Grazie mille!

Very nice location in a caldo ambiente familiare .
Ideal for a family or a group of families. I had a very relaxing week in the smooth nice hills of Tuscany , visiting the nearby Arezzo , the little villages surrounding the country house. Charming owners made as happy with a perfect guest service, playground for child and boys. Spectacular the sightseen and the peace and clam of the nature around .
All promises of the advertisement were kept.
We will come back!

A perfect stay
We warmly recommend staying at this house, an impressively and tastefully remodeled monastery on a tranquil hillside. Must also mention Guiseppe's and Marina's friendliness. We hope to be back.

Richard @ Maria's 40th
We were together with a group of 19 guests at Marina and Giuseppe's villa for a 40th birthday party. We had a most wonderful time at the large rim flow pool, cooking together in the well equipped kitchen, and partying in the evenings outside on the terrace with amazing views of the surrounding hills and village in the valley below. The villa is beautifully restored and has all that you need for a holiday stay. There are also great walks in the surrounding forests and lots of the well known small Tuscan towns are only a short drive away.
Marina and Giuseppe were very hospitable and I know that I will certainly be back to stay again in their lovely villa.

A wonderful stay with Giuseppe and Marina
Thank you Giuseppe and Marina for a wonderful stay at your Villa in the Tuscan Hills! It was a gathering for my 50th Birthday and we had a group of 22 of us staying for a week. Family and friends from all over the world. The Villa was perfect for our group. The views and area are magnificent! You can see the work that has gone into the Villa and how much care is taken to maintain the great standard. We were incredibly comfortable and would definitely recommend to friends...We didn't want to leave! It will be a memory that we take with us forever...

Absolutely beautiful!
Casa sulla Roccia is an incredibly special place. It has been lovingly restored by Giuseppe and Marina who have created a wonderful home where you can be together as a group, swimming, eating and relaxing. You are also able to retreat to private rooms and spaces around the property where you can be alone and enjoy the peaceful location surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. We were a group of 29 who travelled to Tuscany to celebrate a marriage which took place in Arezzo. Giuseppe and Marina helped us organise many aspects of our visit, including designating rooms, translating our ceremony and helping us co-ordinate our group. From our first email their communication was fantastic and they provided everything we needed in order for us to have a fun and relaxing stay. The Borgo was originally a ancient monastery which has been renovated to a very high standard. There are many beautiful details in the rooms and around the garden areas creating a luxurious and impressive environment. Cooking and eating outside was glorious and every evening we sat watching the sun go down. The communal space inside is cosy and comfortable and provides a great environment to be together as a group. Waking up to the sound of birds and the mist on the tuscan hills is incredible and you are surrounded by rosemary and lavender everywhere. We have created so many wonderful memories and I hope we get the chance to return in the future.
There is a supermarket 10 mins drive away which has everything you need and I would highly recommend a vehicle in order access the property and have the freedom to explore the surrounding areas.
Thank you Giuseppe and Marina!!

Fantastico! Highly recommend
I have just returned from my second stay at this very special place and I would highly recommend.
Guiseppe and marina are wonderful hosts.
Their little slice of paradise is wonderful. I have stayed in both summer and winter and both were memorable. First visit was in 2013 for two weeks with my husband, one child and another family of six. My most recent visit was as part of a family reunion group of 31 ranging in age from 3 years to 89 years and this property was perfect. Everyone had a private space to retire too if needed. The large commercial kitchen is great for catering for large groups. Beautiful outlook onto typical Tuscan scenery. Great location for easy day trips to Florence, sienna, Cortona, poppi and even Rome (long day but possible). Thank you marina and Guiseppe !!!

Three unforgettable days in Tuscany, Italy
My wife and I spent 3 days at Casa Sulla Roccia, a former medieval monastery which has been refurbished with great love and care. We chose to stay in a small apartment, furnished in typical Tuscan style and suitable for a small family or, as in our case, for a couple looking for a bit of extra space. The Casa Sulla Roccia is immersed in nature and is a great base for hikes in the surroundings. It is also situated nearby several cities rich of art: Arezzo is reachable in 30 minutes, Florence in 45 minutes by car.
We greatly valued the warm hospitality of the owners Luigi and Marina, and the truly familiar environment. All in all, these were three fantastic days that we hope to repeat in the future.

Original warm Italian hospitality
I spent a very nice and relaxing holiday in this beautiful countryside historical house with my family and my brothers and their families. The location is very easy to reach the wonderful Tuscany touristic cities and beauties. Our childrens enjoyed the swimming pool and the soccer field and immediately felt themselves at home with their new friends: Terry, Checco and Annina, the sons of the Owners, Beppe and Marina. Their hospitality is so tremendous warmth that you would like to stay with them for more than one week of vacation! Thank you Marina and Beppe: we will come back soon!

Awesome place & host, Tuscany wedding dream come true
We wanted to spend our wedding in a special place with family and friends, and our expectations have been exceeded in this stay.
All the rooms are classy, clean and have a really great view. Lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy the nature. Pool and soccer field were fantastic as well.
The large kitchen is well-equipped and suited even our large group.
Marina and Guiseppe have been really great hosts and cared perfectly for our ceremony as well as making dinner (which was absolutely awesome). They also supported us in planning & organization as well as adapting to our last minute changes.
Thank you very very much for these perfect days, we'll return on sometime for the anniversaire :).

A Tuscan Gem
This is our second time to Tuscany with our family only this time we joined up with two other families and stayed at this most amazing Borgo. As a fussy traveler with very high standards, I can say unequivocally that this place met all my expectations. The rooms are generous. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fabulous with the most amazing dishwasher ever made in the entire world (1 min cycle - great for large groups eating amazing pasta). This villa has it all - a fabulous pool, archery, a soccer field, fusbol, pingpong, laundry, wonderful and gracious hosts, cool rooms for sleeping, stunning views, fresh vegetables on the property, hammocks, swings, run-around areas, close to great sites...I can go on and on. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The amenities are key for families and hot days.

Heaven on earth
We had the most pleasant, relaxing and happy 2 weeks. We enjoyed the open air, the magical view, the authentic rooms of the old convent and loved cooking in the professional kitchen with the fresh produce from the shops in the area.
Giuseppe and Marina hospitality was wonderful. Make sure not to miss Marina's terrific Tuscany traditional cooking.
The location is perfect for short trips all over the area: Siena, Florence and the lovely Arezzo among other pictorial villages.

Wonderful vacation in Tuscany for 29 people
We were a group of 29 (14 adults, 15 children aged 5-17) and we had a wonderful week at Casa sulla Roccia.
The buildings are beautiful inside as well as outside, and the surroundings and the view are gorgeous. The apartments are spacious and private, and the property has ample room for large groups to get together. Everything is nice and clean. All of us - but especially the kids, of course - enjoyed the spacious pool.
Guiseppe and Marina are extremely helpful and gave suggestions for shopping and excursions. Before the trip, Guiseppe was also most helpful and always answered our emails right away.
Casa sulla Roccia is highly recommended.

European Equestrian championship jumping ponies Arezzzo
We have spent more than a week with a group of in total 23 people, parents with their teenage children.
The purpose of our stay was to attend the European Championship Jumping for pony's in Arezzo.
The moment you enter the property you do not know where to look first, the beautiful renovated monastery, the swimming pool, the breathtaking view of the Tuscan Valley etc.
The Monastery itself has various apartments and every family has it's own privacy. Every apartment is decorated and designed different with a romantic and atmospheric touch of the lovely owners Giuseppe and Marina. I strongly recommend to experience the culinary skills of Marina. Both Marina and Giuseppe and their lovely kids are taking care of you and offer you the most warm hospitality you can imagine.
We can recommend this delightful place to families with teenagers, elderly people and couples who like to relax and enjoy the Tuscan beauty. Giuseppe is a wonderful host who likes to guide you to some interesting places around their property.
It was a honor to be a guest at this romantic place and being hosted by Giuseppe and Marina.
Looking forward to go back
About the host

Why they chose this property
Built on a large outcrop of rock solid sandstone Borgo Campichierli probably has very ancient origins, dating back year 1052, when Pope Alexander II approved the Camaldolese monks to build a monastery in the valley of Ponina . The ancient manor of a window lintel carved with the cross barbaritana with 4 arms of the same size jambs to all sixth plenty of windows , the arch of the main ancient remains of the original system are still to be admired after careful restoration of the property . Over the centuries the Camaldolese Monastery was passed from hand to noble Tuscan families in the late nineteenth century until it became a fief of owned by the family Ducci , noble Catenaia and Chiassa , who transformed it into a farm in the country . The surrounding lands were rich in olive groves prized and there it was used as a mill for the production of a high quality oil . Campichierli was practiced in the territory of the hunting of the hare, pheasant and wild boar . The restoration carried out by the present owner has made it possible to bring back the original beauty of the complex and Borgo . Along with the restoration has been carried out over the pool a photovoltaic roof area of 80 sqm with table tennis , archery and bocce. In the meadows next to the pool 1 soccer field , one by one from volleyball and beach tennis .
