Mountain ranch house

The ranch house has a pleasing decor and is well stocked. It is an older property but very comfortable and perfect for our needs. We were riding OHVs in the area and this was easy access to several trails.

Peaceful retreat near Pitkin

Our group had a great time! The property was cozy, plenty of parking, the highlight was the creek running near the property. The wifi allowed for calls in an area with no service. We’d definitely recommend!

Cozy cabin

We are always excited about our stay at this cozy cabin in Ohio City. The cabin is a home away from home. Sure loved the new touches you added- new chair in family room and new bed in bedroom on ground floor. We thank you for sharing your place with us and for being so responsive when we had to get in touch.

Love staying at the ranch house! We have been annual visitors for at least the last decade and are always excited to return again. The ranch house comfortably holds all of our crew, which has varied year to year from 3-8 people. The place is always clean, functional and checking in and out is a breeze.

Nice place to stay

House was clean and well furnished. It was nice to have a refrigerator with ice maker and water. Beds were comfy and quiet area. It’s not a big deal but it is a high step to get into the house for us senior citizens ! An extra step or ramp would be nice.

UTV Riding

We came to Colorado in 2017 to ride. We fell in love with Pitkin and knew that we wanted to stay in that area if we had the chance to come back. This house was perfect! Short ride to town and all the trails. We had 8 people stay here comfortably. Beds were comfortable. We all took showers at night and never ran out of hot water. Check in and out was super easy. We would stay here again!

Unexpected

The ages of our group were 45-87; 8 people. Online the property appears to be a single dwelling surrounded by beautiful views. In reality it is surrounded by a motel and many other cabins. There are no views from the cabin and in front you are looking at other dwellings. There is a nice view from the back but no where to sit and enjoy it with grass 2 feet tall. The flow of the house is very odd. You enter from a side door that was very difficult to navigate for my 87 yr old sister in law. The front door is unusable due to placement of deer head and furniture. They also said there was a phone in the office for emergencies but it was locked so if you have an emergency there is no phone and no cell service, be sure to have WiFi calling on your phone. Luckily we had no emergency. Access to upstairs through outside staircase or attic ladder inside makes the upstairs unusable for older people. We felt it was overpriced for the age of the cabin, appliances and decor.

2/10 Terrible

Becky M., Northglenn

Dirtiest place I've ever stayed!

This house & pictures are misrepresented. Part of this house is actually the office, which is not accessible space; it looks like entire house is for rent in the picture provided. .the phone rings all through the night & can be heard throughout the house. The dust & dirt was terrible (I took pictures & contacted the owner, no response ...lamp shades & fixtures covered with dust, baseboards filthy, shelving to put food on..filthy (mouse turds on the bottom shelf), fridge was dirty, not small kid friendly...had to move all chemicals from under sinks...2nd level misrepresented...you either have to use stairs outside the house to access the 2nd floor, which do not have railings to protect kids, or inside climb up a small ladder about 15" wide & through a trap door to access the upstairs, which was very outdated & in bad shape...Many holes in the walls, stuff smeared on the walls, the mirror in upstairs bathroom cracked. There was only 1 little tiny bar of soap in the whole house to be used...had to buy soap at the store in town. I cleaned the shelves we put our food on, cleaned & wiped out the fridge, but not the freezer bottom part, which also was dirty. there was even dust on the kitchen towel & the towel holder it was on. Awful. The place is up for sale, so I guess the owner doesn't care too much about how it looks. The property manager got irritated with us, because we asked him to vacuum the upstairs (rugs still had visible stuff on them), we helped to move the chemicals from under the sinks & asked him to remove the 3 refrigerator shelves of leftover condiments other people had left in there. (the closest grocery store is 21 miles away, so we brought all the food we needed for 9 people for a week & needed all the fridge space). The fire extinguishers in laundry room, one said "recharge" on it, & both had not been serviced since 1999. When I told the property manager, all he said was "well, I'm not surprised!" ..no offer to provide fire extinguishers that worked. None of the remotes for the TV;s worked, even after I went the next day to the property manager's home & got new batteries. I would look elsewhere. The playground was nice though, & it had a nice horseshoe pit in the common area. The property manager even said to me, "if you don't like it here, I will gladly refund your money, but you won't be able to find anywhere else around here for _____ dollars a night". That's true, but where would we find a place for 9 people at a spur of the moment?

Nice place

We stayed for two nights. Nice place and clean. We went UTV riding right from our door, no need to load the trailer. Lots of great trails in the area. There was some electrical issues with the living room lights going on and off. But other than that it was a great experience.

Close to the trails

Really perfect for what we were looking for. We loved having everything available for use. The only thing to be aware of is that the extra bathroom is upstairs and if your a little bigger…. You need to be careful climbing the stairs. I would not let my wife use it. But that is just a FYI. Parking was good and even saw a mile deer behind the house in the field.
