We had a lovely stay at the cottage, it was a good base to use for our two beagle's on various walks.
Clean & tidy, we just about fitted in all weeks shopping as we can't eat out because of our dogs, so we usually cook. Plenty of room for our clothing, the welcome pack was a lovely idea us & the dogs enjoyed them.
Nice secluded location just be weary that it is a single lane to the cottage from the main Rd so just drive carefully, though its hardly used only for the residents that's inc the holiday cottages across the way.
Ruth was on hand to answer any of our queries and suggested some close by walks.
We would definitely stay again if we venture out towards Yorkshire again .
Excellent week in the North Yorkshire moors , we stayed in a Excellent cottage , very well equipped, clean and tidy . Great hosts Ruth and Robert well worth a stay
Lovely cosy cottage in an ideal location in the country but close enough to visit Scarborough, Whitby and many more lovely places.
The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable holiday, well equipped, clean and cosy. Lovely secure private garden with table and chairs.
Friendly hosts who were welcoming and helpful. Perfect cottage for a quiet peaceful holiday.
Curly Tail Cottage is set in a peaceful location in beautiful countryside. Very well thought out and equipped. Ruth was very welcoming. The perfect place for a relaxing holiday, close enough to the coast but with its own quiet garden to enjoy.
Curly Tail Cottage is as advertised. Its compact with everything two people need. Ruth was happy to accommodate our 2 small dogs. The garden is sunny and enclosed and secure for all but the smallest of dogs.
Ruth provided us on request with some local walks and maps. We went on them all and they were all fab. Broxa forest being a 5-minute drive away.
Whilst peaceful and quiet, it isn't too far off the beaten track with Scarborough and Whitby and the coast within easy reach.
Good WiFi helped us keep in touch as on our networks there was no signal which is another positive!
We would thoroughly recommend CTC for a relaxing quiet break with fantastic scenery literally on the doorstep.

Excellent cottage. Was left a welcome pack. Treats and a ball as well, for the dog. Clean and tastefully decorated. Very well equipped. The owners are really friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a dog friendly beach, away from the crowds, I would recommend Sandsend.
Loved curly tail cottage. Attached to the side of a small farm it was perfect for a couples retreat. Walking all day, home for dinner and scrabble.. Easy drive to the coast. Or if you love a walk you can walk to the Cleveland way right on the cliff tops. The cottage has everything you would need for your stay.

About the host
Hosted by Ruth Field
We bought this small holding in 2007. We have horses at livery as well as horses of our own. Both my husband and I live and work in our local community and our children go to the local school. We are on site so if guests should have an queries or need some local information we are always happy to help.
Why they chose this property
We bought Thirley Banks Cottage after leaving our arable farm. We wanted a fresh start whilst still wanting to live and work in a rural area. It also provides our children with a beautiful place to grow up.
What makes this property unique
The scenery and views from our windows is stunning, it is hard to believe that we are still so close to the seaside. It really is the best of both worlds. This area provides a good balance of coast and country.
