The cabin was not horrible. Would we stay again, possibly but needs some updates. Its a little tricky to find at first but in a good location close to everything. Would be hard to get to in the snow. The cabin did look like the pictures but a lot of updates are needed. The eyes to the stove were broke and you cant read the thermostat. The bed sags towards the middle so you are sleeping sideways some. The back door knob is loose, falling off and the grill is very outdated and not able to use. Overall not horrible but definitely needs some attention. Also not a deal breaker but the christmas decorations were still out and my husband put them in the closet. They were not plugged in just sitting around like someone started to put them up then quit.
Walking in the door when we first arrived, it had the same feel as the pictures. However, we began looking around & noticed lots of room for improvement. First, there were 2 very noticeable stains on one of the pillow shams. These were fresh stains that could easily be gotten out if the shams were washed. Next, the mattress had a very large & visibly obvious sag in it where it’s worn out & in desperate need of replacement. Same with the pillows - sleeping on them was like sleeping on empty pillow cases. The fireplace quit working on our last night after only ~3 hours of total use during the stay. The porch light wasn't working - wouldn’t have been such a big deal to us if the porch wasn’t slanted (intentionally, like for snow?) & it wasn’t getting dark so early. I’d also suggest taking more time to keep spider webs knocked down. The outside wasn’t bad but there were definitely plenty of old ones on the inside that needed to be wiped down. As far as the bathroom, I would also suggest taking the time to wipe the mildew off the ceiling. Again, not a huge deal to us but it doesn’t present well to guests. The shower curtain liner was covered in mildew & needs replacement. Last thing was that we went out on the porch on our last night & the door knob was just laid in the door, so it pulled right out.
Not a terrible stay, it just wasn’t kept up to what I would consider reasonable standards.
My husband and I needed a quick get away and this fit the bill. We loved the access to the hot tub on a separate deck. it was quiet and relaxing for us. Aunt Bug’s was wonderful to work with. Fun staff!!
A nice little place just off the strip. Equivalent cost to a hotel with much more to offer and privacy. The only thing wrong was the light on the hot tub did not work and the chemicals were off.
Not very clean stove has only 3 blinds that work kitchen was without a sink cover no dish soap tv
not very clean at all hot tub heat control doesn't work stove only has 3 blinds that work.tv didn't work spider webs every where lamp at bed sight no switch to turn on. no soap to wash dishes' I wuld not rent from them again. I spent around 900 dollars for 3 nights wasn't very pleasurable. I really think i should be refunded part of the money back because i didn't get 900 dollars worth of pleasure.Would i reccomed your cabins no i would not.Very poor maintance and very poor house keeping also to many rules to follow. We had a very unpleasant stay. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I STAY HERE.
The name is accurate Aunt Bugs with emphasis onBugs!
There were spiders and webs all over the cabin and seen roaches on the walls and bed bugs. The cabin was not clean. My wife stayed in the car the first night. We went the next morning to Aunt Bugs and explained this was not acceptable and they said they would have the bugs sprayed. We did not want to stay in a place that had just been fumugated and the desk person said they didnt thing it would be safe going and checking it out once sprayed. They refused to give us a refund so we had to go back home. The sad thing is that this was our first time to Gatlinburg or the Smokey Mountains and didn't get to see it. If you look at the pictures on VRBO the cabin looks very nice but the advertising is not accurate. DO NOT RENT FROM AUNT BUGS!
Spider Webb’s and spiders where present. I was told by owner it was because we was in the mountains. I live in the mountains of Kentucky. I don’t have spiders. Silverware was dirty in draw and the fireplace had been turned off for the season. Wasn’t as romantic as advertised. I wouldn’t pay that much money again for this property.
This place is great, very comfortable, hot shower, hot tub was on and ready to go when we got there. He only thing is make sure you bring things with you. There is no coffee, coffee filters, no toiletries at all.
Cute cabin, well used and not well maintained. Living room light/fan switches not working so chains had to be used. Problem is the fixture was mounted 15-20 feet high so the chains were still 7’ above the ground. Since my wife & I are 5’2, we had to climb on a chair to reach the chains. Notified the office of the problem and they said it was too expensive to fix, so they wouldn’t do anything about it. I’m 80 yo and not too steady so I reminded them of a good possibility of an accident; they really didn’t care! I expected more.
We loved this trip! Hot tub was out first 3 days due to something minor. Too bad they didn’t tell us to add water to hear it up. The cabin itself was lovely and we were impressed!
