Wonderful House on the Connecticut Shore

Upon our arrival, we had a warm greeting by the owner. The first thing you notice is the view. It is magnificent. - views out to Fishers Island, lovely boats at anchor all seen from the lovely lawn and garden. The house was very clean and very well equipped. We cooked most meals at the house and all the kitchen gadgets we needed were there. The front room, which faces the water, is roomy with comfortable seating for all of us. The bedrooms were comfortable, decorated with lovely seafaring themes. Views from all the rooms were just spectacular., even washing dishes was a pleasure because of the window view just above the sink. My only negative would be that in the description it did not mention the very steep and narrow staircase going up to the bedrooms. We are all in pretty good shape but climbing up and especially down was precarious.

Very Special Stay

Our family loved every minute of our 6 night stay here. The house is immaculate, beds are very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We were able to keep our small boat at the dock behind the house which was so fun as we had beautiful weather the entire time. It truly felt like our very own vacation home. Checkin and checkout was super easy with Victoria. Wonderful family time and wonderful house!

Reliving Our Childhood

Our family (parents and 4 kids aged 9-18) stayed at Burdick Place while visiting nearby family. Growing up nearby we knew the location would be perfect for the things we enjoy most -- crabbing off the dock, eating lobster rolls at Abbots, spending time in Mystic and Watch Hill. The house was very clean and well maintained, the owners were very helpful and friendly (we loved meeting Victoria and reminiscing about the fun growing up in Noank), and we couldn't have had a better time. Sitting on the porch watching the boats go by is so relaxing. We went to Carsons every morning and grabbed takeout from either Abbots, Costellos, or Fords most nights. If you're looking for pizza, Pizzetta in Mystic is great, Drawbridge has late-night ice cream, and the Watch Hill Flying Carousel is a can't miss for kids. There's no way to dislike Noank, but Burdick Place made is especially nice. Thanks so much to Wayne, Victoria and the entire family for sharing your home!

Paradise in CT

We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay at this wonderful home. The town of Noank is quintessential New England in every way, and this home is a prime part of its history. Part of the family tradition for generations, to stay here and meet the owners is to feel like you are part of the family. Warm and wonderful people. The house is well equipped and spacious for a family stay. Two nice bedrooms and a fantastik kids room with bunks. The downstairs rooms are spacious, but we spent every minute we could outside between the patio and the dock. There is a substantial T-Dock that was ideal for sitting out and watching the boats and was among our best memories. Great food choices nearby and walkable - Ford's and Carsons (wonderful breakfasts) are a must - all tie in with a great summer break. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

A lovely spot!

My family and I spent a week at this property in Noank. We had chosen it due to what seemed like a lovely location and proximity to family in Watch Hill, RI, but weren't sure what to expect. We have been deceived by VRBO images and and reviews in the past, so were happily surprised when the property turned out to be nicer in real life than is presented in the photos. It's a very clean, comfortable, well-appointed historic house right on the water with fabulous views of Fishers Island Sound and a nearby marina. One can eat both inside and outside and enjoy the lovely views, or take a walk to three nearby casual fish restaurants for a lobster meal or some fried clams. What surprised us the most was Noank's charm. It's small, friendly village marked by lovely historic homes. You mustn't miss breakfast or an ice cream at the local cafe on Main Street. And don't forget to start your day with an early morning kayak around the Noank peninsula. If you're looking for a very relaxing, lovely base in northern Ct, we strongly recommend staying here.

CT Stay of our DREAMS

This is truly a special place - We are so happy to have found it! I’ve been visiting Noank / Mystic all of my 44 years and to be able to stay in this lovely home with my 3 children & husband is so special to me. We’d been there less than 24 hours & were confident that we will be back! The kitchen was equipped better than any other I had experienced... A lovely note, instructions and snacks were waiting for us upon arrival... The owners were always available by text for us to answer any questions and the home itself was comfortable, cosy and clean as could be! Thank you for making such a lovely place available to people like us who truly love the area!

Wonderful vacation home on the water

This was our second year staying in this beautiful house in a town that has barely changed in 200 years. The house is very comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. It was built by a shipbuilder and the architectural details such as the flooring are beautiful. The property is situated on the water with magnificent views and direct access to swimming and kayaking. Colorful boats and islands provide a constant treat to your eyes. The town itself is seems barely touched by the passing of centuries since it was originally established and its shipbuilding and fishing heritage is deeply woven into the fabric of the village. The owners are kind and very responsive to anything you need. I cannot imagine a more perfect place to spend a summer vacation. We will be returning next summer.

Peaceful, private, paradise

We stayed at this beautiful, historic, and updated home for a week-long vacation with three generations of family. The house is clean and well appointed with modern amenities while keeping the charm of the original house. The porch in the back, which became the center of family activities, provided a sense of privacy and a lovely view of the water and sailboats. The dock and beach access made it possible to be out on the water every day. The owners were very responsive to questions about the property and helped me to decide if this was the right rental for our family. I hope to return in the near future.

New England at it's Finest - Burdick House Noank

If you want to see what the New England Coast was and should be, stay at this house or a week, don't drive your car, walk to everything and have an awesome stay. Swimming off the dock, fishing, 3 seafood restaurant options within in walking distance, awesome for boaters. This is a well kept house, spent days on the porch and the docks, relaxed and the owners are always available. You won't forget this spot and the rest is up to you!

Everything about this place breathes history, beauty and life

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in July and absolutely fell in love with the house, the property, the views and the entire town. The little beach was perfect for launching our paddle board and cruising the calm waters of the cove. We enjoyed painting the views of the boats and islands facing the property. And the town itself is just wonderful to walk around and immerse yourself in the rich history and natural beauty that is everywhere. The owner of the house obviously love their house and it shows everywhere. We were greeted by Victoria upon our arrival. A wonderful woman who made sure we felt at home and had everything we needed. We hope to return here in the future.

loved every minute....

My husband and I loved our week in Noank. The house has lovely old world charm. It is one of the cleanest and best equipped houses we have ever stayed in - and we have been renting through Homeaway for over 20 years. The hosts were warm and welcoming - answered every query promptly before we arrived and Victoria was great once we got there. The dock is super-convenient for swimming, making the water accessible even at low tide. We will be back! Thank you to the Burdick family! Kathleen and Ulf

Charming, Delightful - and What a View!

We were extremely pleased with our stay at Burdick Place. The view from the house is even more spectacular in person than in the photos. We loved watching the boats sail by the living room window, the porch, or up close from the end of the dock. This is a special property, in a surprisingly private setting, nestled in the historic fishing village of Noank. If the weather is nice, leave your car at the house and enjoy a short walk to Abbotts or Fords for dinner - or Carsons for brunch. Tip: skip the crowds at Abbotts and bring your lobster back to the house for a special sunset feast at the picnic table.

The Village of Noank and sourounding area of Mystic is one of New England's Gems. The history and access to Long Island sound is perfectly captured in this wonderful home and location. So charming! The most gorgeous views in CT. Quaint New England village but we could walk to wonderful places... Carsons for breakfast..Fords Lobster, Abbotts Lobster... an art gallery and even a little market and package store! We'll be back! Great swimming off the dock and even had our own private little beach. Clean swimming water and we even bought lobsters fresh off the boat from a neighbor..a wonderful working lobsterman/fisher! Wonderful waterfront house

We just finished a week long rendezvous with several family members at this great house. The owners are very friendly and made renting here very easy for us. The view of fishers island sound is phenomenal and having access to the dock allowed us to use our boat all week long. Noank is a charming small town with restaurants, stores and Mystic close by. We would all highly recommend this rental.

Uniquely private and quaint; comfortable

This home is a great "jumping-off place to see the areas from New Haven up to Rhode Island. It faces Long Island Sound and driving north to Massachusetts is a snap. There are a multitude of varied destinations close at hand, but being able to kick back and relax without going anywhere is a highlight. Excellent restaurants within 5 - 10 minutes of home. Initially I dealt with a brother;later we were turned us over to a sister who lives in the area. Between the two, they take great pride in their ancestral home, and it shows! No detail escaped them in preparation for our arrival. "Customer Service" is outstanding and available 24/7! The home itself is pristine and abundantly stocked with linens, etc. It is very attractively furnished and decorated. My husband was fascinated by the doors which were obviously made by hand. We experienced unusually hot weather for October, but window units kept the bedrooms comfortable; however, before we left, we had turned on the heater and it worked well, too. As the home is about 150 years old, one should realize the steps to the second floor are steep and shallow, but not a problem for most people. Our group included three generations aged 71 to 2 years. All had plenty of space inside and out with two very separate living areas. Not a one of us even put a toe in the water but it was perfectly delightful to watch sailboats, birds, and other marine activities from the comfort of almost every room. It is imperative that any place we stay be Pet Free...not just "pets not accepted". There were absolutely no allergens, just as we were assured.

We absolutely loved the home and the hospitality! Victoria was so sweet to write a card and leave some snacks!! It was clean and had everything we needed for our weekend get away. It's located right on the water and has more than enough seating around the outdoor patio table. Clean kitchen and bathrooms. Living has a ton of space! A few minutes from Mystic shops and restaurants.

New England gem on the water

This is truly a beautiful property right on the waters of Long Island Sound in Noank, CT. The dock is right on the back yard and at night you can see the stars and moon beautifully reflecting on the water. The house is cozy and decorated with nautical themes throughout. The kitchen is spacious and the rooms have direct water views as well. There is a nice table and chairs outside so you can grill and eat right there. We stayed with our 2 kids that live in New Haven (~1hr away) and they really liked it too. It is a few minutes car ride to Mystic. The owner and his sister -who lives nearby- are great to work with. I hope to be back, well worth it.
