Great location next to the H2O Taxi stand.

A great location with the water taxi stop at the front door providing quick access to the entire inner harbor. The room was clean and comfortable with a refrigerator for our evening wine. The best feature for us was the small deck which allowed smoking (never in the room) without hiking to a nearby street as required with a hotel. A lot of envy from others on the water taxi when they learned where we were staying.

Spectacular Space at a B&B Float Home at Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria,B.C.

The setting for my wife and my mid February Vancouver Island mini vacation was at Fisherman's Wharf on James Bay. Carene's cozy studio float home room was a fun place to stay that was close to all of the events we were participating in (la Boheme at Royal Theatre, pub crawling and shopping in Downtown Victoria, and dining in the Inner Harbour). Most of the venues at Fisherman's Wharf are closed during the winter months, but the water taxis are open for business and a great bargain at $6 per person. And the walk from Carene's float home to the Inner Harbour is short. Carene's place was perfect for the two for us. Warm, cozy and a gentle sway when the weather outside was cold, wet and blustery. Carene's home is nicely decorated with a small fridge and coffee maker and that was all we needed. We felt secure and safe in Carene's float home, especially at night when arriving home late. Carene provided just the right amount of care for us while keeping our place very private. The breakfast portion of the B&B is at a restaurant called Imagine, that is close in proximity to Carene's float home. We had the best lattes and breakfast there we can remember. Great ambiance and warm, friendly staff and proprietors. Storage space on any Float home is at a premium and Carene did her very best to provide as much space as she could. We felt that perhaps some of the cleaning supplies located in the bathroom cabinet could be reallocated and shelved back to a closet that held a vacuum, mops, etc. That would free up some space for my wife's makeup and my shaving kit, instead of living out of a suitcase. All in all, we felt very comfortable and safe under Carene's roof. We can hardly wait to come back when all the venues are open at the wharf and the weather is warm.

Wonderful place!

What a great place to stay in Victoria! It's a pleasant 15 minute walk from the inner harbour, so it's centrally located and just such a unique place to stay. Carene was a lovely host and gave us great tips re. walks and places to eat and then gave us complete privacy. While the wharf was fun and bustling in the daytime, it was nice and quiet at night (and felt safe at all times, including the late-evening walk home from town). The bed was comfortable, the place was very clean and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was of course small, but well-laid out and had a surprisingly spacious shower. Staying at this little gem of a place definitely added charm and fun to an already wonderful trip. Thank you, Carene!

R & R by the sea

We loved it! This was the highlight of our vacation. The location is central, it is right beside a bike path that winds along the coast, and there are restaurants and bars close at hand. What we liked the best was the vibrancy of the small on-the-water community. The vivid colours and electric vibe are very appealing. There were even local seals to entertain us! Although there are tourists around who go on the whale watching expeditions and eat at the restaurants, the area was quiet. And of course, in the evening, it is very quiet. The water taxi comes right to the front door so a quick trip to or from the Inner Harbour is easy! Our host was most gracious, the place was clean, the linens were very nice, the bed was comfortable. It was all good!

Delightful Stay!

It was so much fun staying at Victoria's Fisherman's Wharf in a float home! The location is fabulous as you are in walking distance to the Inner Harbour, Parliment Building, and Downtown. If you wish to go further, just hop on one of the adorable water taxis that pulls up right near the float home. Carene, the owner, was very accommodating and even met us earlier than the 4:00pm check-in time to provide us with a parking pass for our rental, as we wanted to explore the area since our flight got us into town around 12:30pm. Carene provided us with information about the area, including great places to visit/walk to and eat at. We found our room in the float home to be very comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything you need is there, including shampoo if you forget. We were booked for a whale watching trip on our first morning (Eagle Wing Whale Watching Tours - right at Fisherman's Wharf) so we missed having a meal at Imagine Studio Cafe but we made sure to make it there the next morning before leaving. It's a short walk across a park and worth it. Wonderful staff and delicious food! We would happily stay with Carene again the next time we are in Victoria. Thank you again Carene for making the start of our trip so wonderful!

Float Home Stay - Awesome

Our stay at Carene's float home was amazing ... we were looking to be close to the water, so being on it was perfect! Carene was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us the tour of our accommodation so we were settled quickly and able to go exploring right away! It was cozy and comfortable and a perfect location in Fisherman's Wharf. The room was very clean and had everything we needed - it was really quiet at night and we had great sleeps! Very cute community in the harbour, with great little restaurants and harbor seals that were around every day! Our stay also included breakfast which was at a restaurant close by - this was a lovely place, great food, friendly staff and very relaxed - great start to our day! We loved staying there and would definitely do it again! Thanks, Carene!

Very modern float home.

We stayed at the float home for two nights on May 6 and 7. It was recommended by our friends. The location was awesome and the water taxi stopped by our door. Quite a unique experience. The hostess was very informative. We would definitely rent again. Esther and Douglas from Winnipeg.

Very good!

We spent a week on the house boat in early March and thoroughly enjoyed it. The space is tight (it's a boat, after all) but well-appointed and comfortable. The location is excellent; with the water taxi docking outside, a bus stop across the street and the harbour walkway to downtown, a car isn't necessary. Carene was attentive, and helpful and the Imagine Cafe, where breakfast was provided, was very good. Fisherman's Wharf was a unique experience. Bob and Marci

Comfortable friendly stay - good location

The location of this B and B is very nice. Right on Fisherman`s Wharf and within easy walking distance of downtown Victoria. Carene is a great host. She had plenty of suggestions regarding what to see and where to eat. Coffee and breakfast sandwiches at the nearby café were great. Fruit and snacks in the room were a nice added touch. Convenient parking. The seals at the wharf were bonus entertainment, but watch out for the gulls when people are feeding them!

Great Trip, Great Stay

Carene met us at the property which was clean and well-maintained. She showed us around the space. It is a really cute and comfortable room. Carene gave us great suggestions based upon our interests. It was a very nice walk (1.1 miles) from the Fisherman's Wharf area with a wonderful view as you walk around a paved walking path to downtown. We were there for a couple of days so we mostly went to the area downtown and enjoyed some good restaurants at her suggestion. The second night there was a gentle rocking of the float home, just enough to rock us to sleep, nothing extreme. We very much enjoyed our short stay at Carene's B&B and really loved the city of Victoria.

Pretty place, great location, thoughtful hostess.

A nice experience being on a house boat! Location was terrific. There was no television..but we had an i pad to use and wifi was good. The space itself, though small, was very luxurious . We enjoyed ourselves We feed the local seals and had breakfast at the Moka House. It was easy to accesses the City of Victoria and walking to downtown is easy. Thank you

Victoria float house- great stay

My daughter and I had a great time while in Victoria. This is a great place to stay and close to everything. there are places to eat right out your front door as well as a place to rent kayaks, and sign up to go whale watching. If you don't want to walk to town (10-15 min walk) the water taxi is also right out your front door and will take you where you want to go. The house was clean and I would recommend staying here.

Perfect location!!!

My husband and I stayed at Carene's this past weekend. We had a fabulous time!! The room is nicely decorated, very clean and right in the middle of everything. The atmosphere at Fisherman's Wharf is so fun and the food is all delicious! Best of all, everything is right at your fingertips! Carene was very helpful with the reservations, breakfast, where to go and what to see. It was a wonderful time and we are recommending it to everyone. 😄

GREAT STAY IN VICTORIA!

My family and I had the privilege of staying on this floathome for 3 days. It was centrally located and had easy access to the inner harbour. The house itself was immaculate and it was obvious that Carene has taken extra steps to make her house modern and comfortable. She also provided parking (which was very useful!) The community of floathome owners was so unique - and I had the privilege of meeting many of them. They were very welcoming to visitors! The Fisherman's Wharf itself had many little restaurants which made the experience even better! The neatest part was the local seals which one could see on a daily basis! I would certainly return when I come back to Victoria!

Victoria Float Home

Had a wonderful stay at Fisherman's Wharf B&B. It is a light and airy float home with great views of Fisherman's Wharf, the surrounding float homes, and the Inner Harbour. You are steps to the water taxi to downtown Victoria and steps to the best oyster burgers on Vancouver Island! Jackson's Ice Cream (one float home over) serves Island Farms ice cream - need I say more?! The atmosphere is always festive yet relaxing. The best part of my stay was getting to know the owner Carene. She is warm, knowledgeable and a great cook! Whether it's a tip for a great local restaurant or directions for a wonderful walk to Ogden Point breakwater or where to get herring to feed the seals down at the dock, she has a wealth of 'local knowledge'. I left my trip from further up island to return because she's that special! I can't wait to return!
