Decent apartment, great location, uncaring host
Blue House could be great if it weren’t for the host’s obvious lack of generosity regarding small but important details. We understand it’s a beach rental and not a hotel, and have rented in Italy before.
• Non-functioning Wifi took several calls to host to resolve.
• Toilet was broken on arrival.
• Air conditioning: (1) unit in kitchen area only. Found two fans in a closet; created a system to push some cool air into the bedrooms during brutal heat.
• Towels: (2) bath size towels for (3) guests.
• Water: One evening, returned from beach to find we had NO water. Texted host who said without any apology “it won’t last long.” We were without water for over two hours.
• Photo shows beach chairs: no beach chairs.
• Photo of window view of sea from kitchen: Half of that window is locked permanently so photo not accurate.
• Lots of kitchen items, but those FEW basics one needs to actually cook were lacking, damaged or missing:
o Stove igniter not functioning. Butane lighter provided didn’t work.
o (2) TINY unsanitary wood cutting boards with rusty handles (had to buy a new one).
o Electric water pot heating element moldy/unusable.
o Most of pots so worn they were pitted.
o Only (1) dull cutting knife.
o Freezer door moldy.
This could be a very nice beach rental if the host would spend a few dollars on some necessary items to show a generosity of spirit and hospitality, and care for their guests’ comfort.
