Great weekend trip

This cabin was great for our weekend jeep trip through the mountains. I wish we could have spent more time at the cabin. It was just two of us, but plenty of room for 6. We were able to return for the night to cook on the grill and enjoy the sunsets from the deck. We woke up in the mornings to deer feeding just feet away from the cabin. Great expirience!

Mountain vacation

If you are looking for a mountain getaway, look no further! Beautiful view from the upper deck, and a cute bear/outdoorsy theme throughout the house. There are so many activities to choose from within a short driving distance. Our kids enjoyed the foosball table and plethora of board games in the evenings. Would not recommend for a business trip as there is no WiFi. This required a little more planning on our part, but it didn’t bother us. We would definitely stay again!

What a sunset!

This cabin has the best sunsets. The full moon setting was a bonus. The cabin is great. Since it was just the two of us we stayed mainly on the main floor. The surrounding property was beautiful. Thanks!

Mountain Getaway

My family and I had an overall great stay at this cabin and it is our second time staying there in the last few years. We loved how secluded it was and the surrounding mountains and area. The cabin was clean and exactly how we remembered it except the owners had renovated it since the last time we stayed and our kids really liked it. Overall I would give it more than 5 stars if we had the option!

Beautiful sunsets & good value

We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect for what we needed. Be aware there’s no wifi or cell service and tv only gets a few channels besides religious and shopping networks. This only mattered when we were trying to plan our day trips and couldn’t get maps or weather when we were in the cabin. We made do and enjoyed being unplugged! Kitchen had everything you’d need even with some extra condiments and spices etc. that people left in cabinets and fridge. Very much appreciate that! Beds and pillows were super comfy and I have back issues so that’s a real plus. Only negative was from my son who said the water pump downstairs was noisy but that’s not a problem unless you have people down there sleeping in later than others (like a teenage boy) We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

Relaxing getaway within 30 minutes of most attractions in Colorado Springs.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is situated in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of trees for a "secluded" feeling yet, the confidence of knowing neighbors are nearby gives a sense of safety. The cabin is so cute with a nice wrap around deck. The view is beautiful although, I would suggest "topping" a few trees again to allow better views of the mountains while sitting on the porch. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare your meals with the groceries you can purchase in Divide (10 -15 min) or Woodland Park (15-20 min). There is a very nice, large propane grill on the porch that we utilized during our stay. The bed in the upstairs bedroom was very comfortable with nice bedding. Downstairs, my son said one bed was more comfortable than the other but both were fine. The cabin has central heat and windows that open. At 9500 ft we stayed very comfortable even with 90 degree heat down in Colorado Springs. The road to the cabin is dirt/gravel and a little steep with a tight turn into the drive. We had great weather so I had no problem with my sedan BUT, I would highly recommend a SUV with all wheel drive if it is wet or snowy. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your "little piece of heaven" with us.

Golden girls get-away

We had a wonderful time reminiscing. The cabin was set up well with three separate beds available for all three of us. We were able to lounge in the dining room, living room, and on the porch when it was warm enough. Having two bathrooms was wonderful. The kitchen was amply supplied. It was easy to find the cabin, and easy to venture out in all directions. There were plenty of games, movies, books and etc. We only used the deck of cards…but plenty of other choices for entertainment. We absolutely had no Internet or phone signal but since we went out every day, it was not a problem. Loved our time there.

5 Star - Base Camp

We were newbies to the "wilderness" vacation, but this cabin was anything but "rustic". The location was breathtaking, the altitude (which we are guessing was closer to 11,000 ft vs the listed 9,500) was not a factor - and we normally live at/ near sea level. We stayed for 5 nights, but to do this location justice you really need at least 7-10 days. So you can spend about every other day just lounging at the cabin- and soaking in the views day & night. FYI for you star gazers - rejoice - no "light pollution" up here. We came with one but after just one nigh on the deck - left with four! So many fun family-friendly spots to visit from the "base came" cant possibly list them all. Pikes Peak (book a seat on the Cog), driving is not for the faint of heart. We drove, and once was enough. Cripple Creek train, 15 min away, cute, fun, appx. 45 min long & bring a mask (its an authentic coal filed locomotive). Cave of the Winds Discovery Tour (with Anna is best-she is a hoot!) - zip lines were closed :( but a nice add-on. Great Sand Dunes (about 3 hrs south) - go early they are magnificent! You'll need about 90min to reach the top - tallest in the US. Bing a plastic sled or snow board - to take advanage of the "slopes". Garden of the gods" about 30 min East - perfect for novice hikers (you can do the entire park in your car) - many lookout points to get out and take pics.to impress your co-workers when you get back home!

Fantastic Stay

My husband and three children stayed here for 5 days. It was easy to get to and even with rain everyday the roads were drivable I’m my suv. The location was perfect and we enjoyed our evenings sitting on the upper deck. We brought extra chairs, but they were not needed. We will definitely look into staying here again.

Sunset Serenity

The deck has amazing views, the house is in a quiet, private location, it isn't too far from several attractions. There really needs to be curtains on the upstairs bedroom, they only have grandma's lacy curtains and the daylight comes in very early. We enjoyed our visit.

Lovely Mountain Retreat

Lovely cabin about 9,500 feet above sea level, great views, perfect amount of seclusion. Well stocked kitchen with cookware - no dishwasher (not a negative at all - just something to be aware of) More than enough room for our family of 5 (2 adults, 1 preteen and 2 teenagers). Great location only about 30-40 minutes to Co Springs and the various activites there. Due to the remote area of the cabin they have the water shipped to the cabin, so conservation is key with the water usage. Overall lovely stay, clean, great location, would have loved to stay longer!

Ready to go back

This was our first time doing the VRBO rental. Great experience and we will definitely do it again! This cabin was roomy, comfy, had more than we needed in it. Beds were very comfortable with nice linens. The deck was fantastic! Love all the seating and tables out there with great views of the distant mountains and pretty sunsets. If you have kids there is lots of games and movies with extra couches and tv downstairs. The location is perfect, about 35-40 minutes from Colorado Springs/ Manitou. There is a Mueller state park about 10 minutes away and a mining district Cripple Creek with fun things to do about 20 minutes away. Only few things that were not the best, big windows and glass doors pretty dirty and the water pump is really load downstairs, hard to not wake up when it runs. Other than that, we loved the property and would definitely recommend to others and we would stay here again.

Pictures don't do justice!

This was a beautiful home! Our family loved the location and the sweet doe with her twin fawns! We enjoyed the low humidity and cooler temps at night too! The lower level was an excellent space for our 3 children to play as well! Really the only downside was that we did have to all sleep downstairs as the bed upstairs is far past its lifetime use. If we made our way back to Colorado, this would definitely be our stay again! Thank you for the memories!!

Keith and I enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the sunset. We've been married 30 years and are high school sweethearts. We met in a rock band and still play in our church praise band together.

We hope you have a wonderful stay and please let us know if there is something we can provide to make it even better. And if you think that the squirrel night light on the deck is cute, tell me because Keith hates it. Ha!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this cabin in 2013 and are excited to share it with others! As a kid my family would visit Colorado every summer and to be able to own a very tiny piece of Colorado is a dream come true. The previous owner was an artist who built it for his wife. Some of the quirky outdoor decorations were left by him. I love the bears on the pole!
