This is a house like no other! This house isn't your standard rectangle.... it's an octagon! The main deck wraps around the house with great views to enjoy. There is a second deck with a cozy swing to enjoy those more intimate conversations that happen when you step away from everyday life. In addition, there is a huge patio on the lot beside the house. There is an outdoor bar, bbq grill, table and chairs for 8, and patio furniture to relax and admire the enormous outdoor fireplace. With strands of lights overhead this area can be utilized day or night. There is plenty of space to spread out with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen with a table that seats 12 and an open living room and bar area perfect for socializing or playing games. Climb the ladder to the cupola for an amazing 360 degree view of the area.
There are lots of activities to choose from. You can rent a boat or some jet skis from the marina and spend the day on this crystal clear Canyon Lake. There are plenty of tubing places nearby to enjoy a leisurely day on the Guadalupe river. If water isn't your thing, you can play a round of golf at the Canyon Lake Country Club or feed the deer that wander through as you hang out on the patio. You are also welcome to bring your own toys. We have ample parking on our acre of land to park your toys and vehicles. Boat ramp 5 is just around the corner to allow easy access to the lake.
We would be honored to host you and your friends and family to create a vacation that people will remember for years to come.

Our group consisted of 7, 60+ year old gals on a reunion. This property was perfect for us. That huge dining table made dinners so pleasant and the well stocked kitchen making meal prep a breeze. Beds were SO comfy and towels were spa-like. That patio was great for reminiscing and games. The house location worked well for us to take road trips to Gruene, Luchenbach and of course, the lake. The only suggestion would be to get a better coffee maker. :) There was a bigger coffee maker in the main kitchen but it was not working well.
Nice location with easily access to highway and getting in town. Loved the view from the house. I was very disappointed with the overall cleanliness; the bath towels were not clean and the had a bad smell. The outdoor patio area was not clean and there were no wooden logs to use the Fireplace.
I was looking for a place big enough for my 4 children and their families to me and spend Christmas together. It fit us perfect, was enjoyable and lots of family time.
ThNk you!
The house was perfect for a large family get together. The kids loved the loft area! We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen/sitting area and watching the deer wander through the yard. Some items a little dated/in need of repair but overall the house was clean, well stocked, and we would stay again/recommend.
Nice stay at this house. Really enjoyed the outside seating area.

Fun layout but needs some attention
Plenty of room and restrooms!!! Great for large or multiple family gatherings. Roaches were a real problem. We brought food to cook and enjoy after time on the lake. While cooking and preparing food we were having to kill several roaches. This alone has left me to give the property a low rating. Everything else was great. I hate roaches!!!
Great house in a great location! There were exactly 13 of us and there was plenty of space, bedding and towels. We are already discussing our next trip there.
The House of Light is a solid spot. The patio proved to be a great place to hang out and the views from the veranda were fantastic. It was clean, many of us complemented the water pressure in the showers, and the AC kept us comfortable.
Several things stood out as less than ideal.
First, upon arriving we discovered that the code to get into the property was incorrect. This was no big deal as a single phone call remedied the problem, however, I imagine a scenario where a single delay would have found us locked out with nobody to answer the phone with the correct code.
Second, the exposed plumbing in the kitchen of all places. The sound of sewage flowing through pipes over your head while cooking breakfast did no favors for our appetites.
Thirdly, trash. The previous tenants trash still occupied all of the trash cans on the property. This wouldn't have been a big deal had there been more than a single trashbag provided.
All in all we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.
We had a great time with family we haven't seen in a while because of the pandemic. The kids enjoyed the deer 🦌. We enjoyed the patio and the fireplace. We would definitely rent this house again.
We had a great time. Plenty of room for six adults and 5 kids. The kids had a great time playing and feeding the deer fruit right from the front yard! Close enough to New Braunfels to go into town and eat (25 minutes or so)! We loved the location.
Very nice Labor Day wknd at La Casa de Luz with my family.

The house and location was great.
Getting emails was big problem. I had to repeatedly request receipt or acknowledgment of payments and to be given address and home info. While there family separated so put key in lockbox; code did not work so couldn’t get key out. Tried to call several numbers but no answer. Fortunately one of balcony doors left unlocked or guess we would have not gotten in.

HI! Welcome to our house! We have a large family with 6 kids. We love spending time at the lake to get away from it all and reconnect. Our goal is to create a vacation that you will be talking about for years to come! It is very important to us that your group leaves happier than when you arrived!

Why they chose this property
My parents purchased this property so our whole family could have a place to gather and create memories to last a lifetime. Finding a house large enough for everyone in your group can be an issue but this one has it all. Lots of bedrooms so everyone has some privacy. Several great meeting areas - large kitchen with a table that seats 12, large living room and bar area, and an amazing patio with an outdoor fireplace.
What makes this property unique
There are so many benefits to this house! The marina is close by to rent a boat or jet skis. There are tons of places to tube and enjoy a lazy day on the river. Gruene is only a short drive away for some shopping, great food and live music and dancing at the historic Gruene Hall.
By far the most unique thing about this house is that it is an OCTAGON! It is so cool to explore how having an odd shaped house changes everything! The wrap around patio is awesome with great views of the lake. There is a huge outdoor fireplace on the patio with a grill, patio furniture and a table. There are several strands of lights run across the patio so you can enjoy this space day or night. The patio is so large it sits on its own lot! There is plenty of room to spread out and plenty of parking because this house sits in the middle of 5 lots!
There are lots of special areas throughout the house. Large kitchen to enjoy meals as a group. 5 bedrooms so everyone had space for some down time. 3 full bathrooms, one of which has a shower with 2 shower heads! A private patio downstairs to have those intimate conversations. A large living room with an amazing bar area that has an additional sink, fridge and microwave that is great for talking, laughing and playing games. The Bar top was handmade by the owner from a large mesquite tree. And the best part....the cupola which is a secret room that you have to climb a ladder to get to. The views from this room are absolutely breathtaking.
