About this property

- The Sirens' Refuge -

CIN Code IT063044C2WOZH9FM4

The cozy house is located in an ancient '800 villa surrounded by tranquillity and panoramic views, in the heart of the green hills of Sorrento Peninsula, also called “Terra delle Sirene” (The Sirens’Land) ideal for those who want to relax and enjoy the quiet of nature, away from city chaos.
The property enjoys a large courtyard consisting of typical lemon, olive, fruit and pine trees, fields and vineyards, where you can experience moments of absolute relaxation and enjoy unforgettable sunsets.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, with dining area and living TV, a comfortable double bedroom with a wonderful four-poster bed and a sofa which, if necessary, can be transformed into a French bed suitable for two people (in the same room), an anteroom with a clothes hanger area, shelves and space to store suitcases, a bathroom equipped with bidet and shower.
The guest will have at his disposal a large garden equipped with table and chairs for eating and living outdoors, hob with 4 burners, fridge, freezer, Wi-Fi Internet, full HD LCD TV, pots, dishes, cooking machine coffee, tablecloths, sheets, bath towels, clothesline with pegs, clothes hangers, iron and mosquito nets, to sleep soundly.
The house is comfortable and naturally cool, but there is also an air conditioning unit in the bedroom. The structure is accessible by car via a typical country road (width of the access road: 1.75 m), therefore only for small cars; if you own a medium or large car, we can offer a transfer service for your arrival. Near the house there is a small area dedicated to free car parking.

The house is in the village of Massa Lubrense, just 7 km from Sorrento and few minutes drive from the sea; in fact, with short travel by car or bus, you can easily reach the most beautiful beaches of the coast, such as Nerano, Ieranto Bay, Crapolla, Mitigliano, Marina di Puolo, Queen Giovanna, or even spend a lovely day in Positano, Capri or Amalfi; alternatively, if you like hiking or strolling, you can take walking tours through the numerous routes, alleys and paths in the nearby.

It is situated in a strategic point to easily move, with car or bus and visit the most beautiful places of historical, landscaping, artistic and cultural interest, located both on the Sorrento Coast and on the Amalfi Coast: Sorrento 7 km, Positano 17 km, Amalfi 35 km, Ravello 40 km, Pompei 35 km, Ercolano 48 km, the Vesuvius National Park 48 km, Naples 50 km, Paestum 100 km.

The house is surrounded by greenery, but in few minutes you can reach the shops you need: ATMs, supermarkets, household, laundries, restaurants, bars, pizzerias, dairies.
At 30 meters distance, there is the Sita bus stop: with this regular bus service you can easily get to Massa Lubrense or Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi centre, Positano, Amalfi and Sorrento where there is the train station to Ercolano, Pompei and Naples and the port from which ferries and hydrofoils make daily departures to Capri, Ischia and Procida islands and the city of Naples.

In the Municipality of Massa Lubrense, there is a tourist tax of €3 per person per night, which you can pay, in cash, upon arrival at the house, thank you.

Sehr schönes Appartement mit Super-Aussicht aufs Meer / Wonderful apartement with perfect sea-view

Absolute Perfection!

We truly can not say enough good about this property. You will not find a better view. Nothing beats the sun rises and sunsets. Olive and lemon groves surround you. The owner and family are delightful and extremely helpful. We spent a month here and literally cried when it was time to go. The home has everything you need. The bed is very comfortable. Great bathroom. Get to know the area. Walk lots. Spend time in Massa Lubrense, use the bus system… it all works for a lovely stay. The price for what you get is an unbelievable deal. AND…. there is a well behaved dog that greets you and loves you while you are there. It was a dream stay for us. Hopefully we will be able to return some day. So perfect.

Perfect location for a couple

We arrived at Marco's location and he was already waiting for us. After an introduction to his house, Marco provided a list of his personal preferences for restaurants, etc. In any case the support was excellent, the house sparkling clean. The property is well located with a fantastic view to the city of Massa Lubrense and the Gulf of Naples. All in all a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommended.

Quaint Italian town. Our favorite. Out of the tourism craze.

This place was exactly, if not more than anticipated. Beautiful property, precious pup Fufii, that greeted us most mornings and stunning views. Marco was really great at communication. Didn’t miss a beat. We loved our stay there. Go down and see Angelo at the Angelos Snack Bar, in the marina. Tell him Dave and Suzie sent you. Some of the best food we ate and local, simple, family owned. Also had Americana breakfast. But call first in the morning if going for breakfast. We loved that place. And many others. I would make one suggestion. If you are renting a car, be sure to get a small car, like Mini or Fiat. It will make parking at the home easier. Enjoy!

Wonderful setting and views

The property has lovely surroundings, with lemon, olive and fig trees all around. It even comes with a super friendly dog to greet you at breakfast on the terrace 😊 Marco was super helpful with tips for our whole trip. The location is superb for doing both the Sorrentine peninsula and the Amalfi coast. A highlight for us was renting a boat to see the coast without all the hairy coastal driving! And we were able to do that from the nearby marina Contone right in Massa Lubrense. There are also tennis courts only 200m away from the property! As others have mentioned, rent the tiniest car you can! And rely on Marco’s instructions and not Google maps for the last part of the directions - his street comes up on Google but in a slightly different place! Grazie Mille Marco! We had a magical visit. 🇮🇹

Lovely location....authentic town

We enjoyed our stay in Masse Lubrense away from the madding crowd. The apartment was clean and private...a bit pricey as no real sitting area inside but Marco was very pleasant and helpful. Great sunset view made up for size.

Excellent house with lemon groves!!! Easy commute to Sorrento!

My family absuolutely loved the place and the area! My 6 and 8 year old boys loved the lemon groves and the peaceful place with a sea view. Easy commute by bus to Sorrento and then you can explore the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii. Massa Lubrense is very beautiful and quaint too. Sorrento is wonderful. Marco replies to your emails very quickly if you have any questions. One piece of advice - take a picture of the bus schedule and understand it. Buses run every 30 min and sometimes once an hour. Once you have the schedule, everything else is easy. Thank you for our beautiful stay!!!

Very private, secured and scenic.

Very good accommodations for a couple. The owner Marco was very helpful with all the details and the luggage. My wife enjoyed the surrounding areas of Sorrento, Sant'Agatha and Massa Lubrense. There is cheap local buses to visit most cities and towns. Enjoy your stay.

Comfortable, clean gem with gorgeous view of the Bay of Naples, surrounded by fresh lemons

Massa Lubrense is a quiet, charming, friendly town. Marco was committed to meeting our needs and was available to answer questions and offer suggestions (e.g. where to eat, walk/hike -- we walked/hiked down to Punta Campanella one afternoon with a glorious sunset view over Capri on the way back; parts are steep ... if it's hot, we'd recommend doing this hike in the morning when the path would be shaded). The apartment was simple and comfortable. The terrace alone was worth the trip and the price. We went to the beach at Marina Del Cantone (rocky, like most Sorrento peninsula beaches), on a boat ride to Amalfi and Positano one day (with Capitano Ago out of Sorrento), we sat at Angelo's and enjoyed the sunset over dinner (twice), and spent an afternoon on the fun and engaging "Endogastronomic" tour in Schiazzano - one of the villages of Massa Lubrense (olive oil and cheese production, followed by make your own pizza, accompanied by plenty of wine and limoncello). Other restaurants recommended by Marco were very good and we enjoyed the slow pace and beautiful scenery (and the narrow, winding roads, once we got used to them).

This place is perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the area.

Absolutely fantastic apartment in a beautiful setting with great views. We loved it as a base for exploring the region and for just chilling out in the evenings with vino on the lovely terrace and cooking dinner in the very well-equipped kitchen. Marco was very helpful when we arrived and gave us loads of information about settling in and getting around, and his dad was so lovely when we bumped into him coming and going. A lot of places around about are very busy and touristy, great for visiting but not so chilled. Massa Lubrense is perfect for having the "must see" places close by but with the benefit of a slower pace and its own charm. We loved it. You will feel totally at home here. Cannot recommend The Sirens Refuge enough! Tip 1: We got a bit lost finding the house so double check location and how to get there with Marco before arriving as Google Maps has the address wrong. If hiring a car pay attention when he advises you to get a small one! 😉 Tip 2: Keep going past Amalfi to Ravello...especially in busy season, you won't regret it.

Die Wohnung liegt recht ruhig. In der Tat sollte das Auto nicht all zu breit sein. Die Zufahrt zur Wohnung ist an einigen Stellen sehr schmal. Die Wohnung bietet einen tollen Blick über das Meer.

Bijou and very clean

Sirens Refuge is a lovely small holiday apartment. Everything you need is provided and the house is spotlessly clean. Getting around by car (small) or bus is easy. We took in all the sights including a night at the ballet in Naples. Marco and his father are really nice and fresh fruit from the Orchard was always on offer. We can't wait to return. ...

Bright and characterful apartment with superb views.

The Siren's Refuge is a characterful apartment in part of the ground floor of a grand old Italian farmhouse, set in a lemon groves. It was bright and clean and had all the basics for a relaxing holiday. There are views out over the sea, and across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. It is set somewhat outside the town of Massa Lubrense, down a steep and narrow lane, so if you hire a car, make sure it is a very small one! We just used the local bus, which is regular and frequent and takes 25 minutes to Sorrento from where you can get the train to all the big ticket tourist items such as Pompeii, Vesuvius, Herculaneum, or boats to Capri. In fact, Sorrento is an easy one hour walk, mostly down hill, provided you have a good map, and is a great place for relaxing and eating out! The owner Marco was very friendly and helpful. He met us at the bus stop on arrival and provided a selection of foodstuffs so we could make breakfast on our first couple of days. without having to go shopping. We recommend The Siren's Refuge, especially if you want a relaxing place to stay, away from the bustle of Sorrento.

Great find!

Marco and his family were really friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely clean, bright and comfortable accommodation approached through a lemon grove. The view from the apartment was fantastic! Breakfast looking at blue sea, the village of Massa in the distance and Vesuvius itself! Fantastic! With a bus stop just a short distance from the apartment and Massa 10 minutes (not to mention Sorrento only about 20 minutes!) drive away, this really was a relaxing, peaceful and beautiful retreat! Recommended.

Wonderful view from a green oasis

We loved every minute in this lovely decorated, well-equipped, spacious apartment. Marco and is parents are friendly and warmhearted hosts. We came here by public transport, this worked very well. The bus station is near, but don't forget to buy tickets in advance in Massa Lubrense. Grocery stores are un walking distance as well. We miss playing with the dog Fuffy. Thank you, Marco!

Exquisite and serene

Marco was the consummate host. He picked us up from the town square and delivered us to the amazing apartment overlooking the Bay of Naples. We were taken aback both with the view and the serenity. The apartment was excellent and extremely functional. Sorrento was a quick bus ride away as well as being connected to the Amalfi. If you want a place to stay that is peaceful and private, this is the place. Our heartfelt thanks to Marco. Would stay again in a pinch, and our only regret was that we had to leave.
