We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin in the woods. We were pleased with the fully equipped kitchen. We were happy that the drive up to the cabin was paved. The cabin was roomy, nicely furnished and had a great deck overlooking the mountains. A short walk from the cabin was a cool waterfall and close by were many wonderful hikes and a great winery within a short distance
This log cabin was the best for our age span and the needs for our weekend together. With 3 full baths and the many beds available to sleep our 5 adults and 4 older teens comfortably, we had the best time! As the listing said it is rustic but very comfortable. I would highly recommend! Owner extremely nice! best time The kitchen was a bit small
Loved the cabin, views, and trails. Would stay again.

The cabin is very nice, clean, comfortable and spacious. It is in the middle of the mountains surrounded by nature. Before you arrive make sure to print out all the information that the owner sends you. There is no cell phone or internet reception in the area. If you arrive at night it can be very difficult to find the cabin. It is on the left and the entrance is a little difficult to see. You will see 839 Francis carved into a wooden sign, but in the dark it is almost invisible. Also keep in mind that due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Helen, there are several roads closed and you will have to use detours that will delay your route to the cabin. The cabin has everything you might need. Just bring your personal belongings, toiletries and food. Also laundry detergent if you want to wash clothes. We were very happy and pleased with our stay. They have movies for the kids, books, games. And the fireplace warms up the living room nicely. We had a very nice and pleasant time with our family. We will definitely return at some point in the future.

Everything we needed was already there. It was the perfect solution for getting our family away from everyday life and shut out the world. It was peaceful, relaxing, and the perfect place to connect and appreciate nature.
It was a very great experience in this cabin, I loved that has room for up to 14 people. Well that depends on the privacy needed. But it works for us so we'll. The only issue was the Internet signal was partially poor at some times. And rarely got cellphone signal. But other than that we enjoy your stay at this cabin that has a beautiful view from the deck and amazing nature soroundings.
This is our go to cabin for our trips to the mountains. Greg is a pleasure to work with, very accommodating.
This last trip was an adventure riding out hurricane Helene. We will be back as long as she stands:)
We had a relaxing stay at the Black Sheep Corral for Labor Day weekend. The property was very helpful from the moment we booked the property. Great communication and super nice. The log cabin was everything we imagined and more. Everyone had a wonderful time. Thanks again
It is a wonderful, wonderful cabin. Greg is one of the best owners we have ever worked with. This wasn’t our first stay and hoefully, it won’t be the last. Looking forward to our next stay real soon.
The layout of the cabin allowed each family to have it's own sleeping area and bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped. The only negative comment would be that the gas stove in the kitchen seemed to be aging and may need to be replaced. However, we were able to cook everything we needed for our meals.
Even though the closest golf course has been converted to a disc golf course, we were able to golf at other local courses. There were plenty of local attractions to keep us busy when were weren't satisfied to just lounge in the cabin watching the Olympics.
We were impressed that each sink in the house was provided with anti-bacterial soap dispensers and plenty of dish soap was provided in the kitchen. Even though there is no dishwasher, we were easily able to handle dishwashing with the setup provided.
This cabin was by far our favorite place we have stayed in in all of our trips to the area.
Everything was great, we visited many hiking trails, did river tubing and lots of other atractions. Resting every night in the beautiful deck and looking at the stars was definitively a highlight, we will for sure be back :)
The cabin is very spacious and clean. It has everything you need including kitchen supplies, entertainment ( movies and games), bedding, and a wonderful porch. It is located in a very secure area close to Linville Falls and Caverns. Our host Greg responded very quickly to all of our questions. I would highly recommend for any family event or retreat.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The house was immaculately clean. The amenities were everything that I expected. Greg is a fabulous host. Everything that he mentions about this property is true. I have no complaints whatsoever. And I’m glad that I had the opportunity to spend a week in this fabulous place.

Cabin is nice, hard to get to
The cabin is nice as pictured. Centrally located to what we wanted. Extremely steep drive way, sharp turn in, branches starting to encroach, scratched car. Limited parking hard to maneuver more than 2 cars to park. View has been over grown. Nice slippery deck, No outdoor fire pit. Not much for younger kids to do outside or inside cabin. No shade from the sun in the loft, rise and shine with the sun. NOT CHILD KID FRIENDLY, bought a gate to block stairs from toddler. Storms affected our trip, no streaming, wifi password was not accepted after day 3 of 7, cable went out, all remotes had dead batteries. Refrigerator does not close easily, opens freezer when you push the door close. Drawer under oven gets EXTREMELY hot, very dangerous to kids.
Water in shower and sink was either cold or scalding hot. Gas stove fire goes out on anything less than med. Sliding door and screen hard to open
The house was nicely secluded in a gated community. Having the bedrooms divided over three levels allow for privacy as well as family interaction for my husband and I with our adult child. The kitchen was well equipped and the location was in close to restaurants when we did not want to cook. Thank you for sharing your home.

This place is beautiful! The quality is impeccable. Amenities abound! Cooking utensils, grill, coffee pot, linens, wireless, all there. We enjoyed ourselves so much!
The owners communicated clearly and provided excellent directions, instructions, and contact information. They also had light switches and fab switches labeled which was fantastic and so user friendly.
The nest ac worked beautifully.
The ONLY negative is they truly need to replace the oversized, for children only bunk beds with actual bunk beds that adults can safely sleep on. Pressed wood inserts are not user friendly.
This was the best place I’ve ever rented and if I could give it more than five stars I would.
We loved everything! Cozy house with history, clean, equipped with everything what you would need. We really enjoyed our weekend there and we wish to come back again!
