Welcome to our cozy 4-bedroom vacation home in the charming town of Mayville! Nestled just a 10-minute drive from the renowned Chautauqua Institution and a 22-minute drive from the stunning shores of Lake Erie, this property offers the perfect base for your getaway.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a fully stocked kitchen, complete with a stove, oven, refrigerator, grill, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and all the dishes and utensils you'll need to whip up delicious meals. Unwind in the comfortable living room, or step outside and enjoy the breathtaking lake views from the property. Most recent updates include a completely renovated full bathroom, new exterior doors, new hot water tank, new grill, and new mattresses... plus the use of paddleboards, kayaks, and a canoe.

Needs some work

While we enjoyed the property and the beautiful spot on the lake, the place needs some work. It was necessary to open windows to allow airflow but the windows were very dirty. Lighting in the house was poor. My biggest complaint though was the goose poop all over the yard. It spent a couple of hours cleaning it up so we could use the yard.

Beautiful View and perfect for making memories

My family of six, including my 4 teen boys as well as my friend and her daughter had a wonderful time here. The cabin has a beautiful view and a nice sized deck and backyard for all kinds of activities. The house was clean and well stocked. The house was big enough to accommodate us comfortably but cozy enough that so much time was spent together. Teenagers have a habit of disappearing on their phones. Instead the days were spent floating and kayaking in the lake or playing yard games. Evenings we gathered around the fire pit and made smores and told ghost stories or sat around the table playing board games. We had a great stay and made some wonderful memories! 10/10 would stay again!

Fishing with the boys

group of us have been taking a week in the summer to go fishing for 15 years. We enjoy trying different places. But, this probably one of the most enjoyable trips we have taken.

Annual Fishing Trip

We have been coming here for the last 4 years. Place is perfect for our needs. Room for two bass boats at the dock. Plenty of parking for trucks and boat trailers. We will be back!

Perfect place for families to enjoy

We stay here once-two times per year. We love the cottage because it’s roomy enough for 8 adults, it has a great kitchen that has all you need, Tops Markets is five minutes away, there’s a private dock. It just has all you would want.

Another Great Stay

There’s so many things to love about this Lakehouse. It’s right on the water so you get to see everything from the inside if the weather is too cool to be outside. Plus, there’s plenty of yard space for corn hole and bury fire pit. There’s a gas grill on the property so we were easily able to pair meals every night plus a full kitchen. This is our go to for when we want to stay at Lake Chautauqua!

Cute lake house

We stayed here after Christmas with family and it was the perfect lake front property for our group. We are hoping to get back to it during the summer so we can enjoy the lake I grew up at with my kids.

Awesome get away

Great place for kids & pets as you have a very nice yard, dock to fish off of or just to sit & relax! Fire pit with chairs & even a hammock!! Plus a grill that was very clean! Cottage is set up with everything you will need ! Lots of small towns to visit & plenty of places to eat out if you want. Only complaint, we didn’t plan to stay longer. Hope to return soon !!! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us !!

Return to Chautauqua Lake

Nice to revisit Chautauqua Lake in this cozy cottage. Great time catching up with friends and family in beautiful lakefront setting. Took advantage of amenities like dock, firepit, large deck, propane grill, corn hole, hammock, etc. Fun for all ages, and our dog liked it too!

Back to my waterroots

This property is beautiful outside with an adorable decor and welcoming vibe inside. My family and friends remember our history with Lake Chautauqua (my childhood and children's childhoods), and coming back was everything we had hoped for. We hope to make this our anual vacation spot!

Great location and pleasant property

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It is a nice, quiet, walkable neighborhood, close to the park, walking trail, deli, grocery store. There is plenty of parking. The living space was nicely cared for, with all described amenities provided. We had 10 people in our party, but there was only seating for 6 at the table, so we ate in shifts on our rainy days. We did find the lighting to be dim in the living area and downstairs bathroom. Yard is spacious, with fire pit, outdoor eating areas, fire pit. Overall, a good stay.

Quick Getaway

Brent was very accommodating. He quickly responded to every question we had. He allowed us to park a small camper on-site for the cousins to sleep in. He allowed an early check in and a late check out. The house is perfect set up and has everything you need. We also used the boat dock, but didn’t get out much on the water because of the weather. Would definitely stay again.

I grew up in Westfield, NY. My wife and I purchased this home in late-2014 as a way to keep ties with my hometown and relatives, and to provide my family with a wonderful getaway location where we can make lasting memories.

Why they chose this property

Our house in Mayville is a great gathering place for both friends and families. We are relatively new owners of this house (closed on 12/31/14) and are excited to make continuous improvements to the home for all of us, guests included, to enjoy for years to come.

What makes this property unique

The large lakefront lot is secluded much more than most, providing the privacy that we all desire. Views of the lake are spectacular with easy access to a private dock.
