Our house is in a beautiful urbanization with pool and gardens, next to a 6 km beach in front of Santander, with boat connection and beautiful views of the bay.

Ideal for families with children, groups of friends, nature lovers, surfing or golf.

The urbanization is a small mountain town within Somo, 5 minutes walk from the magnificent beach.

Perfect mix of total disconnection, with mountain or coast plan a few steps away. In front of Santander, always beautiful to spend a day.

The house has a garage, with a car the location allows day trips to Bilbao, Picos de Europa, Cabarceno, Santillana del Mar, the Pasiegos valleys, the Pedreña Golf and much more.

You are on vacation, there will be time for everything.

A wonderful vacation!

We are a group of 8 and really enjoyed our holiday at this place in Somo! The house is situated fantastically in a closed group of similar houses in old Cantabria style, with a very nice pool right in the middle. It has a spatious garage, cosy kitchen, living room & small garden, 3 bedrooms at the second floor and a very large one at the attick and 2 bathrooms. The house has everything you need and more and Raquel & Marcello gave us a warm welcome and have been very helpfull in getting to know the house. The village and beaches of Somo are at close walking distance. Our favorite activity was of course surfing, for which Somo's beaches are superb! Taking the ferry to Santander was our most popular way to get right in the city center, which has a nice boulevard and lots of shops and restaurants. Bilbao is at one hour driving distance and easily filling an entire day program with the Old Town, Cathedral, walks along the river and of course the Guggenheim museum. Cabárceno Nature Parc at less than an hour is a safari nature reserve in an impressively sized area. Also, the cascades of Lamiña are a great walk and very refreshing experience. Along the coast the town of Comillas is absolutely worth a visit and don't forget to see Gaudi's creation El Caprico over there. At a bit more than two hours drive you can take the cable car Fuente Dé to hike the Picos de Europe and enjoy phantastic views in a stunning environment. All together this is a provence and house we'd love to return to...

Angenehme Ferien im Surferparadies

Wir hatten ein paar schöne Tage in Somo. Im Objekt gab es alles was man braucht u d es war für uns 4 ausreichend gross. Das teilwise sehr dreckige Geschirr unser Vormieter sowie der eher dunkle und muffige Eindruck aufgrund sehr vieler alter Einrichtungsgegenstände und etwas verstaubter Bücher hat den Eindruck etwas getrübt.

Well equipped summer house

We love the property, it has got everything you might need. Excellent location to the beach. Our kids also enjoyed the pool. Thank you for letting us use your surfer boards and other beach sport equipment. Nice touch were those Nespresso capsules.

Estancia como en tu casa, cerca de la playa de Somo

La recepción fue elegante, nos recibieron con unos dulces de la zona, te y café. La casa es como aparece en las fotos. Tiene de todo lo necesario para no echar de menos nada durante tus vacaciones. Es más, se nota que estás en su casa, a todos los efectos. La playa está a 10 minutos. Es un sitio especial si tus hijos quieren probar con el surf. A 5 minutos tienes un super. El parking en la planta de abajo es muy cómodo. Subir y bajar los tres pisos de la casa se hace duro para los que estamos con sobrepeso.

Lovely property and great location

We had a lovely 10 day stay in this apartment in Somo. Raquel and her family were most welcoming and kind and the apartment was very spacious - lots of room for us all (5 of us) although the living area could be a little small if 8 people were to stay. Everything was very clean and it was nice to have so many things provided for use. Very spacious garage, small garden at the back and a nice pool that never got very busy. There were supermarkets within a short walk, so we rarely needed to use the car. The beach was a five minute walk, as described, and fantastic for surfing. There are also a few local walks and we also enjoyed going over to Santander on the ferry (much quicker than driving). We can also recommend a drive to Los Picos mountains - Potes is lovely and we enjoyed the gondola at Fuente De (about 2 hours' drive). Santillana del Mar is also a beautiful mediaeval village about 30 minutes away. I think the local seafood at Somo is supposed to be very good, but unfortunately it was very difficult for us to get vegetarian food, so we didn't eat out much. Overall, a lovely holiday - thank you!

Casa de verano muy agradable y cuidada

Hemos estado una familia de 6 muy a gusto en la casa de Raquel. Lo que más me ha gustado es que, a diferencia de otras que hemos alquilado por la zona, Raquel abre su casa con todos sus objetos personales, cuentos, libros, discos, etc, y eso te hace sentirte como en casa de amigos. Los dueños además súper amables - nos recibieron con unos dulces de la zona, te y café, y proporcionaron todo tipo de ayuda para que estuviéramos lo más cómodos posible. Gracias!!!

Una gran experiencia. Muy recomendable.

Estuvimos 10 días este julio, 5 adultos y 3 niños. La casa es muy bonita, con una cocina pequeña pero con todo lo necesario (incluido lavavajillas). Un pequeño jardín detrás con barbacoa (que hemos usado varias veces). El salón cómodo, aunque se nos quedaba algo pequeña la mesa del comedor, que es para 6 personas. Tiene baños en todas las plantas (3), así nos ahorrábamos subir y bajar un montón de escaleras y con tres niños era muy práctico ;). La mejor habitación es la de la buhardilla, super-amplia, con mucha luz, si bien puede ser muy calurosa en días de calor porque las ventanas no tienen persianas y los estores no se pueden cerrar porque se estropean por el calor. Para nosotros no fue un problema porque tuvimos muchos días nublados, pero si hubiera hecho más calor se habría notado bastante. También tiene un garaje individual donde nos ha cabido perfectamente nuestro coche (un multivan VW) con lavadora, secadora y un frigorífico extra que nos ha venido estupendamente para poner toda la comida que no cabía en el de la cocina. Lo que más no ha gustado es que se nota que la casa está vivida, que no es una casa que solo se alquila: estaba llena de libros, fotos personales, decorada con detalle, la cocina tenía los básicos de comida y limpieza, ... La casa está en una urbanización cerca de la playa, en lo alto de una colina, unos 15 minutos andando (con niños pequeños) si tomabas el camino por el pueblo y algo más si optabas por bordear la urbanización y bajar por el pinar. Tienes que tener llave para entrar y salir de la urbanización, así que es muy seguro si los niños están jugando fuera o van a la piscina. La piscina, por cierto, es excelente: con duchas, unas gradas para dejar las toallas o sentarse, con zona más y menos profunda, super-limpia... A mis hijos les ha encantado. Además, la propia urbanización es muy bonita, con jardines muy bien cuidados, todo lleno de flores... La atención de Raquel, además, ha sido excelente, nos hemos sentido como viejos amigos con ella. Y Marisol, nuestra vecina, también ha sido superamable. En suma, una experiencia estupenda y seguro que repetimos el año que viene.
