Beautiful home but some safety issues

need a better introduction to how things work such as washer & dryer. As an American the washer & dryer are very different. Didn’t know where the window keys/screwdrivers were hidden. 2) beds in 2 bedrooms were not comfortable & not really beds. 3) pillows flat, should have better pillows and top sheets. Hot days & only covers are comforters when we should have had a sheet. 4) too many trinkets and objects all around the surfaces, floors, etc. that made it awkward walking around or using the bathroom counters for fear of knocking something over. 5) the stairs are permanent so nothing can be done about that except to put a marking on bottom landing or use carpet to distinguish the illusion of no more step. I fell off the landing and bumped my head and bruised up and scraped my right knee and leg and arm. My husband fell twice off the bottom landing but was able to catch himself. We moved the front door carpet to the landing to avoid future problems. 6) kitchen has for my family a very undesirable smell. No one wanted to use the kitchen due to smell. 7) the quiet zone was supposed to be 11:00pm. Every night way past midnight there were people/ neighbors outside having loud gatherings while we were trying to sleep. 8) tripping hazard with chords from floor lamps.

Would stay again!

Lovely flat in a quiet neighborhood! 3 bed, 3 bath well appointed unit, very private and close to shops, pubs, and the underground. Only negatives would be that there is no A/C and can get a tad warm depending on the weather, and the floor level bed is not comfortable at all. Overall 5 star, would love to come back!

Authentic location and great value

I stayed in late November to visit my daughter at university so the neighborhood vibe might differ from other reviews. I found the location VERY quiet maybe because there appeared to be no occupant in the other half of what was a very cool privately gated "carriage house". I learned from one of the offerings in the extensive library that "mews" refers to a London style home converted from a former horse and carriage garage with stable hand quarters on the upper levels. The converted home is VERY well done with original exposed sandblasted timbers and comfortable with high end fixtures. I can report I had none of the reported issues with lack of hot water. Heat worked well after I realized I could adjust the individual radiators in the rooms I was occupying. I can imagine the bedroom situation being challenging for some groups. The main bed is a cozy open loft situation with an additional pull out bed on the each of the lower two floors. So best maybe for single couple plus kids or single guests. The walk to Borough tube station on the Northern line was a mere 3 minutes.

Close, but not perfect

Good location for making your way around the city with two solid stations within a short walk. The place has Great bathrooms, fine bedrooms and a decent kitchen and living space. The immediate surrounding area was unsettling, dirty and not attractive. We found the street to be noise at almost all hours. If you can get past that, it is close to East End’s Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market, which we came to appreciate at the end of our trip.

Great space. Quiet. Slightly inconvenient.

If you have reason to be in Southwark, a great place to stay. In a gated mews, on three levels, a 10 minute walk to the tube and a 15 minute walk to Borough Market

Highly recommended place!

We found the flat to be furnished comfortably and very welcoming. The security gate made us feel very safe. We enjoyed the large kitchen table.

Location good foldout beds not great

Handover ok- hot water? Main bedroom no door others only fold out beds. But house generally good and location good close to shop, Starbucks, pubs, and underground. Exactly what we wanted. Would be less dusty if they lost a few hundred Knick knacks.

Terrible beds

2 of the bags on this property are pull outs that have no padding and are the most uncomfortable things ever slept on

Beautiful home - worst beds

A beautiful home, spotless, great location. The two guest beds (sofa beds) were indescribably uncomfortable. Hard as the floor with thin pads on top. Would have to bring my own air bed and pillows if I came back again. For the thousands of dollars spent on the home for ten days, at least a closet or a luggage rack and comfy bed would have been nice. Not my best memory of the trip.

Perfect for us!

Our family was attending a wedding in London and Veeves place was perfect for us. It is both beautiful and classy. Each room had it's own bathroom, the kitchen was well equipped and the main floor was comfortable and gorgeous. We couldn't ask for a better location. Just a 10 minute walk to the London Bridge. We basically walked everywhere for our 5 days stay. We highly recommend.

Good Location but lacking in appeal

Let’s say the pictures don’t tell the story. This house was in a good location close to stores, markets and tube. It had enough room for the 6 of us. There seemed a lot of clutter in the house... lots of shelf space seemed to be occupied with decor stuff. The glasses and mugs were quite dirty and needed to be washed before use. The rooms get enough daylight but hardly any wind so if it’s a warm day the upper floor rooms get very hot and the one lone ceiling fan is almost useless and there is no central air. If you stay 7 days or less the linens will not be changed without charge. Overall, an OK experience.

Convenient Location

The neighborhood was colorful and interesting, ready access to the Tube at Borough Station and close proximity to Borough Market was a plus. The home was well appointed and comfortable, the blue tape signaling restricted access was a little annoying but understandable. The lack of available closet space was a factor. Overall a lovely home, good service, thank you for a great stay. With Best Regards from America

We were very happy with our stay by food markets and riverside attractions

In general we were happy with the house. For us the most attractive thing about the area was the presence of the Borough food market and the riverside attractions around london bridge within walking distance. It was a lively place withe stalls and the restaurants. Being very close to tube station was another plus. Proximity to Tate Modern was also an advantage. For younger people Ministry of Sound might be another attraction.

Great service

We arrived in the evening. The management company's staff was waiting at the property patiently. The lady showed us around the property as well as passed on instructions on security alarm, wifi, heating etc. Great property. Provided everything we needed for the stay plus a lots of extras that family house had! Great location, characterised interior design, high standard of cleanese, fully equipped kitchen and tableware, everything was handy. Felt like home to home. Really enjoyed the stay. Big thank you to the host as well as the management company.

Overall a good experience

Veeve associates were very responsive abd helpful. The house a bit disappointing for the following reasons; - Hot water kept shutting off - There were no clean drawers on closets to unpack into - So many things were taped off it was difficult to find appropriate dishes to use - Food left in the fridge Below expectations

Lovely home

My party of four (one couple and two singles) stayed at this Mews for ten days in October, 2015, and found everything very well kept and well provided. The owners obviously live there quite a bit, so many cupboards were locked and off limits, which is as it should be. But as a result, we did not have closet room for clothes: I ended up stacking mine, folded, on a desk in the office/bedroom I used. We enjoyed the sitting room and the small deck as well as the kitchen/eating area; we cooked for ourselves several evenings and found everything we needed, and in good working order! And we loved the quiet setting: no raucous revelers keeping us up all night! Our only disappointment was over beds: while there is a proper bed (queen size I think) in the big bedroom on the top floor, the other two "bedrooms" were really office and/or library spaces with a fold out sofa/daybed in each. They were amazingly hard and thus also hard on our old backs. Still, we enjoyed this space and would go back (though perhaps with some soft pillows of our own!) Thanks for a great visit to London.

Fantastic location and value

Check in was smooth; VU was very accomodating when we were later than expected due to a delay flight. VU was also very quick to repond to issue we had with the alarm system and the hot water. There were some issues with the house set up; The sofa bed did not have the toppers on and we had to look for them after an uncomfortable first night The cupboard with the plates and bowls was sealed off with tape and we had to open quite a few sealed cupboards to find them Odilia (Cleaner) didi not show up on July 24th as VU had notified us she would

Clean and well appointed flat in a truly great location

The house is very beautiful and welcoming. Veeve, the agency that look after the flat is very efficient. A bit of extra work is needed at the time of the booking because there is an agreement to sign, but consideded how nice the place is, it was worthy. Very central, clean, accurate pictures and the agency provided an efficient service. Very happy with the stay.
