The Glen Ellen Stone Retreat, located in the heart of Sonoma Wine County in the quaint town of Glen Ellen. This creekside home is on a quiet private road walking distance to town center. Glen Ellen is home to restaurants with locally grown organic ingredients and family operated wineries. There are several tasting rooms and a gourmet grocery store within a 5 minute walk, or you can venture in any direction and you'll find world renown wineries.
Kenwood is an 8 minute drive and downtown Sonoma is 15-20 minutes away. Less than a mile from the front door is the Quarry Hill Botanical Garden. Spend the day hiking, horseback riding, and enjoying a picnic in nature at the Historical Jack London State Park located one mile from the house.
The 1.25 acre creekside property is private and quiet. The house is 3500 square feet offering many different places for groups to gather, inside and out. Three of the bedrooms have their own en suite bath; the other two bedroom share a bath right across the hall. The perimeter of the property is lined with redwood trees. The lack of neighboring lights makes the stars especially bright. Nestled among oaks is a unique insulated tree house for guests to enjoy. The chemical-free pool is heated via solar panels May-October.* Enjoy your evening in the hot tub under the stars.
* ** The pool is heated via solar panels seasonally, AVAILABLE ONLY May through October pending rain and outdoor temperature. Pool cushions are stored during the winter/rainy months typically November through April** Hot tub is hot and available year round!***
Our Recommendation!
Float in the fresh salt pool. Take a stroll along the creekside walking path. Play a fun filled game of tether ball beneath the trees or darts in the game room! Throw some burgers on the luxury BBQ. Relax poolside by the rushing waterfall while savoring some local wine. Later, enjoy a soak in the hot tub. Gaze up at all the bright stars. Sleep in our new beds with high thread count linens. Sleep like a stone.

***NOISE ORDINANCE - Sonoma quiet hours are 9pm – 7am and are strictly enforced. Bring groups inside by 9:00 p.m. NO amplified music is permitted outdoors at ANY TIME, as per county regulations. No DJs or bands are allowed at any time – we need to be considerate of everyone's enjoyment of the peaceful setting.***
Noise violations and neighbor complaints are grounds for our home losing its vacation rental permit, so we take this issue very seriously. If neighbors or police report excessive noise, guests may be asked to leave with no refund and a loss in security deposit may occur.
During the day, please still be respectful to our neighbors and do not shout, scream, etc. We are not a party house! We want our guests to enjoy their visit to the wine country and Stone Retreat, but must ask for respectful behavior to the property and our surrounding neighbors. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
We have additional cleaning and sanitation procedures in place, and are blocking 24 hours between reservations to allow for ample time to clean and sanitize. For this reason we will NOT be accepting reservations with a checkout that falls on a Friday or Saturday or a check-in on a Saturday, Sunday on Monday.
