Superb 4,000 sq/ft Lake View

Casa Del Sol is a 4,000 sq/ft, 7 bedroom 4.5 bath Cape Cod situated on the cul-de-sac on a private street with a view of the lake 75 yards off the rear multi level deck.

Wake up to a lake view to the rear of the house from one of our three master bedroom suites. The house comfortably sleeps up to 18 people. The family room has a television with Dish TV and a DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped including a coffee maker for the morning after the blender was used to make Margaritas!

There is a three level deck on the rear of the house with a Tiki bar, gas BBQ grill , 6 person patio set and plenty of room for lounging. We are located near the old Newman Ferry boat about a mile (15 min walk) from downtown.

Enjoy your evenings sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows, sitting on Adirondack chairs and enjoying conversation among family and friends.

Note: This home has been under new ownership/management since 2017. The issues in some of the older reviews have all been addressed. This house is spotless with new amenities as well. We have clearly maintained a higher standard since taking over.

Friends for Life Fall Getaway

This Kelleys Island home was perfect for our fall weekend gathering. The home was spacious and clean, kitchen was stocked with all cooking essentials, the deck and yard provided fun outdoor space with beautiful view of the lake. We had lots of room to gather as a group but also plenty of space for individual quiet time. Highly recommend this property for a lovely stay on Kelleys Island - it lives up to its expectations.

Great getaway

This home is a great place to stay especially for a larger group. It is perfectly set up for two families or families with older kids that want their own space. The lake view from the deck is a perfect way to enjoy a morning coffee or evening wine. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating. Will definitely look to return.

Family vacation

This house is a great size for a large group. There was plenty of room to be together or to have some privacy. Most rooms are large enough to hold pack-n-plays for little ones. The kitchen was very clean when we arrived and had all the basics. You may consider bringing your own sheet pan as the house only has one and it is a regular size. The towels supplied serve their purpose but if you are particular, I recommend you take your own. It was great having access to the garage to store our bikes safely. The grill was large and easy to use. The house is very light and bright. This could be a problem for people who like it dark. The windows are a normal size so we used travel blackout curtains for the children.

Family vacation

This house met our need of space for a large family. The view of the lake was spectacular, and the yard gave the kids a place to play outside. The large grill was sufficient for cooking for a crowd. The outdoor tiki bar was cute, and the speakers were a great find on day 3. It would have been nice to have instructions on how to use them, but we figured them out. Overall, our stay was a lot of fun.

Kelley’s island treasure

This house was perfect for our family! So many bedrooms on 3 levels, so everyone had privacy ! Our whole family loved the location. Perfect for bike rides, scavenger hunts and family togetherness…We had so much fun!

Lake Erie Fishing Trip

Had a great stay at this home on Kelley’s Island! Owner was very responsive to any questions our group had. We had 8 stay here for our annual fishing trip and there was even room for more. Ample room for parking trucks/boats as well. I would highly recommend!

Family Reunion

Our stay was fun. It was great to have four generations to celebrate together. Mom is 88, and wanted a tiime with her children, grand children and great grandchildren. She got her wish. The downside was that the beds were uncomfortable to sleep on, and a few problems with the property, which were communicated with the owner. Overall, it was a nice gathering, and the house fit all of us.

Beautiful property - but . . .

The basement had flooded, the owner had cleaned up most of the water except there was a pullout couch with a mattress literally dripping huge amounts of water, we had to take it outside, the dehumidifier had to be emptied multiple times (15+), and by day 2 mold was growing on the baseboards. My guests had to sleep upstairs on chairs and love seats and ended up leaving early. It was disappointing because we had stayed in 2019 and it’s a wonderful location and house.

Kelleys get a way in storm

Advertised as having two kitchens - downstairs kitchen was not equipped at all. Coffee maker did not work - appeared to have been broken by prior renters as it was filled with water and coffee - but would not turn on. When we arrived air conditioner was not on - Landlord did respond promptly with code to turn on. Downstairs bedrooms became unusable after the storm - which is not the owner's fault - but one had a definite musty smell even before the storm. We had thought the owner would have arrived to get the saturated rugs out of the lower level and see what could be done during out last three days - AND we expected a coffee pot since we were staying a whole week - Amazon could have delivered one promptly. Location good - and family time good - just not what we had expected.

Very bad communication

Stay was ok. Although i reached out to Bob to see how we charge the golf cart and he didn’t get back until the day we left. Then he charged me $100 for a blanket without asking us where it was first. After 4 weeks of telling him where it was and him ignoring me, he finally refunded me (after getting VRBO invoked). There was also a bug problem on day 5 due to a storm I believe. But I think they came in because of the storm. I Would not recommend using this host ever.

Nice house

Actually have stayed in this house twice. Lots of room. Remember to get trash to appropriate place before 3 pm! Our host was kind about this. Some of us had a lot of bug bites, bring your bug spray, you’re on an Island. Don’t plan on watching much TV, Wi-Fi on Island is not great. So much to do and places to visit on KI!! Enjoy!!

Family Getaway

Our large family had a wonderful time here. The house met all of our expectations and was a perfect size for all of us. The location was fantastic, and we enjoyed sitting outside watching the water. Thank you!

Great location, nice place, lacks communication

The place was great and had plenty of space for 16 full sized people. Unfortunately, the heat did not work well for the upper level and there were not any heavier blankets available. The thermostat had a code which was not available and the owners did not respond to our requests for help. In general, the biggest complaint was the lack of communication from the owners. In the end, a valuable item was left and we have not been able to contact the owners for help getting the item returned.

The property was very nice inside. The outside was a bit dated and could use a good power wash but that didn't hamper our girls weekend. The downstairs was a great place for us all to gather. The owners were very responsive after we got in and settled. We got to use the golf cart on the premises but there isn't an easy access to the main road. Overall very satisfied with this property.

Great House for Our Group!

This property was great for our 2 week stay on Kelley's Island. We had a large, diverse group of friends and family and there was plenty of room to accommodate all. House was very clean when we arrived. We had some provider specific technical problems with internet and satellite TV that were finally ironed out by the 2nd week. Owner was very responsive during this process. Property also had 6 person golf cart available for additional fee which came very handy. We really enjoyed the large deck with the view of the lake. Great backyard as well for playing yard games. There is a 4 car limit for driveway parking that is best to honor in order to maintain peace with with neighbors. Overall very pleased with this property and our communications with the owner. We would definitely rent again for our next trip to Kelley's Island!

Return visit to Kelly’s Island

We returned with family to Kelly’s Island. We enjoyed our stay and the home. It is close to the water and we’ll equipped which made our stay very enjoyable. The only issue we had was the WiFi on the entire island didn’t work most days. But the property manager did his best to help. Last year when we stayed we complained about the sofa bed, which has been replaced and was great this year. If we return again next year, we will try to make arrangements to get the same home. Thanks for sharing your home with us. The neighbor was still crabby, but we had little contact with him.

This rental is our home that we share with select users. It doesn't feel like a rental property when you are staying. The home is built by the owners with pride and it shows.

What makes this property unique

The home has a fully finished basement with three bed rooms and a full Kitchen and family room. This is available for access to renters with special approval. The home is air conditioned and has tons of windows for a great view of the lake (sometimes trees limit the view a little). Please keep in mind the home is on an island which includes may flies, Canadian soldiers, spiders, birds, snakes, etc. Its nature and its fantastic.
