This exquisite seasonal cabin in the woods is nestled in nature and filled with modern conveniences. Great swimming, boating, and fishing. Many nearby nature walks. A rare find!

let go, rest, read and relax. Or for the more active. swim, hike, fish, and enjoy boating and viewing nature.

Find an idyllic escape from busy lives and places. Whether for a personal spiritual or yoga retreat or just want to recharge your energy this lakeside camp fills the bill.

It is a haven for photographers, artists, writers, and musicians who want to tap into their inner well of creativity. It is an ideal romantic getaway and has been often used by newly wedded couples on their honeymoons.

There are opportunities for fun for kids and adults alike. Experience a healthy and revivifying warm weather family vacation.

At Clearwater Lake one can slow down, not be interrupted, pleasurably commune with your own inner nature and the natural beauty of the surrounding environment.

I love how deeply I sleep, and how rested I feel when I return to my'normal' working live. I love how I feel deeply connected with nature after visiting. I love how kids respond by finding adventure and fun outside their usual activities.

This rustic and nurturing seasonal camp is located in The Western Maine Mountain Region on 22 wooded acres on Clearwater Lake. The Clearwater is one of Maine's most pristine, spring-fed lakes with more than 750 acres, six-and-one-half miles of shore line, and a maximum depth of 135 feet.

Enjoy a morning hot beverage on the large screened-in porch. Watch for passing families of ducks and ducklings, visiting loons or hummingbirds as you contemplate the surrounding beauty and listen to the bird calls and rustles in the leaves.

Amenities:
* Our seasonal three season camp can sleep at 5 - 8 people.
* It has a cozy bedroom with a queen sized bed, a comfy living room couch that converts into a full size double bed and a daybed in the living room. There is also a queen size futon and a single mattress that can be used for "spill-over" porch sleeping on the screened-in porch.
* The wood burning stove in the living room has a glass front and screen, functioning as both a cozy fireplace and a source of warmth.

Great Rustic Cabin

Just recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend with my family. The location on the lake is great, you can't be any closer to the water which is what we wanted. Kids enjoyed catching fish from the dock and the views from the porch cant be beat.

Half a dozen visits at the camp

We love hanging out at the camp in the fall. This is our special place. Victor is a great host. Full kitchen, wood burning stove, comfy bed, linens etc. Also very private and quiet. Had the SUP out and went for a dip in the pond. We always have a lovely time regardless of the weather. This time we visited Rangeley for the 1st time. So much to explore.

Maine cabin: the way life used to be

This rustic Maine cabin was everything we hoped it would be: in the woods, quiet, rustic, and on the water. No frills. If you are looking for modern amenities this is not your rental. If you are looking for the way life used to be and a peaceful retreat go no further. We can’t wait to return.

Great no frills getaway

We were looking for a place that we could relax in for a couple of days. Found it here. Very basic and reminiscent of how camps were in the 40's. When the wind blew, it was felt in the cabin. The wood stove is large enough to keep us warm when it was 50 degrees outside..just not quite enough wood was available. The water is from the lake, so need to take bottled water (was not told this in the information). Great overall stay.

Quiet, Beautiful Sunrises, Good Dock Fishing

We were looking for a quiet, affordable cabin with privacy as a place to write and relax. This cabin was perfect. It was close enough to run to town for an extra sweatshirt when it was cold a couple of days, but at the end of a dirt road for quiet when we wanted that. The communication was good and Victor and Judy next door were very helpful. We used the kayaks and life vests, swam off the dock, and the sunfish were biting like crazy. A perfect place for me to teach my nephew to fish. The sunrises were amazing. Definitely get up to see at least one while you're there. The stargazing was phenomenal, too. I saw a shooting star the second night we stayed. A couple to things to know - there is a path from the parking area to the cabin. It is an easy trek, but for anyone with mobility issues, it could be a challenge. Additionally, the bathroom is in a separate building. It is plumbed and the shower is there and works great, but it is separate from the cabin if that is an issue. We didn't have any problems as the wooden walkway is easy to navigate and the lighting they have installed is amazing. If seclusion is your thing, this is your place. The WiFi worked really well for us and we were grateful not to have a TV take up one of the walls of the cabin as so many do now. Our pup Lily LOVED everything about her stay - the sniffing, the swimming, and watching paddlers and boaters go by. One last item... if you enjoy photography, this is a great place. The view is unbeatable.

About the host

Host profile image
I've been spending summers on this property since it was originally purchased by my Mother and stepfather when I was a young teenager. After my mother passed away, I bought the property from my step father.

Why they chose this property

I bought this property from my step father because throughout my life I have found it to be a place of exceptional peace and beauty and also because each time that I leave the city to stay on the property I wonder afresh at its wondrous revivifying qualities.

What makes this property unique

I love the combination the property offers of immersion in nature and healthy exercise as well as providing a personal retreat with easy access to the many cultural activities offered in the nearby college town of Farmington.
