Gilmour Lake is a low key setting offering a lot of sport activities and relaxation. Outdoors, just to name a few things to do on the grounds, are tennis, badminton, pickleball,basketball, hot tub, three hammocks, horseshoes, campfire, swimming, diving, kayaking, paddle boat, row boat, canoe, or paddle board. Indoors you can choose from ping pong, billiard, darts, 70"satellite TV, karaoke, boardgames, sauna, or read a good book. There are 2+1 bedrooms. Master bedroom can sleep four, the family room can be private and has a pull-out queen bed. The lower level also has a queen pull-out. The kitchen is fully equipped, excellent potable water including an ice machine, wine fridge and two BBQs outside. A second fridge is on the lower level. Wifi can be used down on the dock, beside the tennis court, in the hammocks, beside the fire place or not at all.

New year with a lakeview

It was a great little spot!!! The host was welcoming and accommodating. The location was close enough to super markets and SAQ that even new years eve festivities went off without a hitch. My friends and I would be intrigued to experience this location in the summer sun.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY

The pictures do not do this property justice! We went in the winter and the place exceeded our expectations. Well equipped kitchen, heated floors, ice skating, hide and seek, and many other activities. Can’t imagine what it’ll be like in the summer.

Beautiful lakeside sport retreat

We had a blissful time with friends and family enjoying many sports on property (tennis pickleball etc) and lovely cottage with ample space for gatherings. Well be back !

Excellent location and facilities

We stayed for about 10 days, and the house was a great base for exploring the whole Ottawa area. Driving into the city is very straightforward. And for those days where you want to chill out, the house has numerous activities to keep you amused. We enjoyed pool, tennis and table tennis. The wildlife is also fabulous. Lots of birds, numerous chipmunks and squirrels, and even a small furry groundhog! Rex was a friendly and welcoming host.

A charming fully equipped cottage

We (two couples and 4 kids) had the pleasure of staying in a charming cottage, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered to ensure a delightful stay. The cottage was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, combining rustic charm with modern comforts. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the cozy living area with its inviting fireplace was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the surrounding countryside. Luxury in the Wilderness!

The home has every amenity. Host was excellent communicator and very helpful. Nice grocery at the end of the road. All possible sports equipment provided. We would love to return and stay again. Peaceful, beautiful water view.

Awesome Retreat

Rex & Shelley hospitality was beyond amazing! The house was gorgeous and was set up very nicely with guests in mind! We enjoyed playing Tennis and swimming in the Lake. We highly recommend this VRBO house!!

Perfect winter getaway

Our group of six friends loved our weekend at Rex and Shelley's cottage. It's both spacious and cozy and we made great use of the hot tub, sauna, and fire place. The kitchen is a cook's dream and very well equipped. We loved the thoughtful touches like the hooks on the tree near the hot tub, and the variety of games and activities that would appeal to people of all ages. We're already talking about our next visit, and can't thank Rex and Shelley enough for sharing their wonderful space!

Spotless and fabulous

Fantastic property and the cleanest place any of us (five friends) have ever stayed. Turned out it was the coldest weekend in 27 years, so we loved the fireplace, the sauna and even the hot tub. Very cosy for a large place. Comfy beds. Host made sure the laneway, ample parking and walkways were cleared before we arrived. Although I am sure this property is stunning in the summer, it was a great winter getaway -and less than an hour from Ottawa. We had a great time. Thanks, Rex and Shelley, for sharing your wonderful space :)

Better than expected

This place is stunning. A real treat to stay in. I appreciated the attention to detail and the amount of activities to participate in without leaving the property. We stayed here with four adults and two kids between 5 and 7. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful, peaceful property

Our first trip to Canada did not disappoint! The property was everything we expected it to be. The leaves had changed colors and reflected beautifully off the lake, making our canoe rides very enjoyable! There was no need to leave the property with all of the activities available. We stayed quite active during the day with pickle ball, tennis, horseshoes and the lake. At night we relaxed around the fire, shooting a game of pool or in the hot tub. The bird watching from the deck was incredible!! Many thanks to the Jung family for sharing their special place with us!

What a wonderful spot to gather with friends! Truly a recreational mecca with so many options to spend our time. The basketball/tennis/pickle ball court were well used. The hot tub, sauna and lake were perfect for recovery. And the kitchen was great for preparing large meals. Thank you so much Rex & Shell for making your slice of heaven available to us!

Perfect Place for Family Reunion!

Thank you Rex and Shell for sharing your lovely cottage with our family. Your Happy Hutte became our Happy Hutte for the week! The cottage is well equipped with everything that we possibly need during our one week stay from kitchen gadgets to recreational equipments. It's very spacious and clean and lots to do to keep all ten of us entertained. We had so much fun on the lake and it was quite special for many of us to try paddle boarding for the first time. We must admit that the best highlight has to be the visits of many beautiful birds feasting at the feeder everyday! Great place for outdoor and indoor activities…or just relax!

The drive to the cottage created a sense of getting award. Once there, this spectacular cottage was amazing with all its offerings and facilities. The host was very informative - easy to deal with and helpful.
