Pine Harbor Paradise

Hello, and welcome to our family River House. We’re glad you stopped by. Our River House faces due east and is located directly on the Sapelo River in Pine Harbor, a quaint and quiet community in northern McIntosh County, Georgia.

The fully furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath house awaits you and your family to create some lifelong memories just as we have and continue to do today. All you need to bring is yourselves and a change of clothes. Grocery stores and restaurants are just minutes away along with Shell Creek Seafood in Eulonia, the Shellman Crab Company on the Shellman Bluff Road, and The Market in Darien for retail purchase of fresh local seafood. Amenities located on this almost 2 acre property include a private pool, a private dock, shaded deck and plenty of outdoors for children to play and explore.

Bring your boat! We can assist you in launching your boat at the private hoist or direct to nearby landing for back down launching. If you choose not to bring your boat, numerous local charter captains are available for fishing, casting and day trip excursions. Kayak rentals and tours are also available.

Downtown Shellman Bluff is a mere 5 minutes away. There you will find a sleepy little fishing village with an excellent choice of dining options such as Hunter’s Café and Speed’s Kitchen along with Knotty's and Blackbeard Cove. Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is also located in Shellman Bluff. This challenging and scenic 18 hole course is carved out of the pristine coastal Georgia landscape. Enjoy breathtaking marsh views while play is routed through fairways lined with majestic live oak trees adorned with Spanish moss.

Plan a day trip to take the ferry to Sapelo Island and explore the Big House, the Lighthouse and the pristine beaches. The Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge to the north and Butler Island to the south are just minutes away for birding and various other types of wildlife viewing. For the history buffs start in Pine Harbor with the burial site of General McIntosh. Darien, founded in 1736, is mere 15 minute drive to the south. McIntosh County history dates back to the days of General James Oglethorpe. Some of the historic locations to visit in and around Darien are Fort King George, the waterfront Tabby Ruins and Ashantilly in Darien, not to mention the smallest Church in America at South Newport.

With Savannah 45 minutes to the north and St. Simons and Jekyll Islands 45 minutes to the south, day trips for shopping, sightseeing or to the beach can be an added bonus to your stay. Thank you for stopping by and please contact us with any concerns.

Something for everyone.
Only a handful of times do you find somewhere thats checks all the boxes. For us, Pine Harbour Paradise did just that. A pool for my diva wife and dock for me to tie up my boat. Beautiful setting in a quiet peaceful neighborhood. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Hurricane Debbie tried to put a damper on our vacation, but we still made the best of it! Had an awesome time. Caught crabs and shrimp and a few fish. Swimming pool was a huge bonus as well! Hope to be back again! Hopefully without a hurricane next time(:

Pine Harbor-place to disconnect
A great place to disconnect. If you are looking for a very quiet getaway or into fishing & crabbing I would highly recommend. Kayaking is only an option if young , agile & brave. No kayak/canoe ramp to assist in getting in kayak. We also intended on utilizing some other amenities that were not available. After speaking with owner we were advised the amenities should have been updated and he apologized. Grills need attention. We ended up spending our time in private fenced in pool area which was very nice. There is little to nothing around this home to do so come prepared. We happened to be from Florida so regularly keep chairs, umbrellas and beach stuff with us. After setting up in pool area this was our little space. We really enjoyed the house set up. Beds were super comfortable and everything was in working order. Played games in the big dining area and sat on both porches. Enjoyed sunrise and watching a storm come in from the front. If taking your dog just be aware no one in this neighborhood puts leashes on their dogs. My adult kids got a kick out of an old Basset Hound named Rascal who came through daily. Most dogs were chill but did have an issue once on a walk so did not wander out much.

Pine Harbor Paradise
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ken's property. We were able to bring our boat and really liked having it there to go out and cruise and fish. It was a little cool for the pool in April, but my 8yr old son still enjoyed it. Setting under the live oaks was amazing. Ken was very responsive to my numerous messages prior to our trip. Much appreciated. I've already looked into a future trip there. Book it - you won't be disappointed!

We had a wonderful time at this property! It was very homey, clean, and the pool was fantastic! We didn't catch any fish, but enjoyed trying. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and the piggly wiggly was 5 minutes away. My husband and I live in Savannah and it was a quick 45 min drive for us. We celebrated my mom qnd stepdad's birthdays, so it was only 4 of us. The beds slept really well and the showers looked newly renovated. My mom communicated with the owner and he was very nice/accommodating.

The view of the property from the back desk was very picturesque, it highlighted. the well-maintained yard, pool, and river. The sunrise in the morning was spectacular. Our stay was enjoyable, and the location allowed for quick trips to various tourist attractions. .

We had a great time at Pine Harbor Paradise! We really enjoyed having a pool to ourselves -- no little ones splashing, no "pool hours" to deal with, or pool rules (last year we could not bring drinks or snacks to the pool where we rented--everything had to be purchased from their concession stand $$$). Pine Harbor was QUIET and peaceful. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with plenty of good-sized pots, pans, and dishes. It was probably the cleanest place we have ever rented. We were surprised that the river was salt water. Our pictures are gorgeous. I also really liked that there was not a "master bathroom." It was much easier for 6 of us to share without people being in and out of a bedroom to get to the bathroom. We had a power outage and the owner was very responsive. (Turned out to be area-wide.) This is a record-setting, hot summer, and we had no issues with the AC. I highly recommend Pine Harbor!

Great Week at the River
Very hot this year but the pool was refreshing and enjoyed by all. Lots king forward to next year’s family vacation at the River house. Very relaxing and lots of good memories being made.

Great location and charming house
It was so relaxing and quiet. My wife and I (and pooch) really enjoyed getting away from it all for a little while. Check in was super easy and Ken will respond quickly to any questions and was helpful in recommending local fishing charters. It was still a little too cold for the swimming pool but we plan to come back during the warmer months.

Beautiful property.
This is a beautiful property. Owner has made updates to the bathrooms, which are very nicely done. Home is very clean. Renters should know that there are no blinds on most of the back windows, and the two patio doors with large glass inside, which did concern me. The balance of the blinds in the home work, but some of them must be adjusted by hand. My kids enjoyed fishing on the dock, and catching blue crabs in the trap provided on the dock. I did not realize when I booked this home that it is 20 minutes away from restaurants and good grocery stores (had to travel to Darien, GA). Did enjoy Fort King George in Darien. Also traveled north 50 minutes to Savannah, Georgia around St. Patty’s day. Weather was great, and enjoyed the town and green fountains. The owner is very responsive to any questions re: this property.

Historical river front
We absolutely love this place. It’s a quaint, quiet little house with a swimming pool for the kids and fishing dock for the adults. The middle bed room is the coldest for those that are hot sleepers like myself. Be careful of the pool. There is no lighting and if you’re walking around it at night, you can step off into a cutout area on the deep end. Also, no lighting on the dock at night. There are also new boards on the back steps that my cousin slipped on when it rained and hurt his back. They have no kind of slip strips or texture to catch your feet. Otherwise, this is an adorable little house. Go visit mallow plantation across the street and learn about some of the founding members of McIntosh county. I love this little house and hope to visit again

My family had a great week at the Pine Harbor River House. The house is comfortable and well equipped. The pool is beautiful and we all enjoyed fishing and crabbing off the dock. Perfect weather was a bonus. Can’t wait to return.

Southern Charm
Our first family vacation since our honeymoon…11 years ago— add in 2 children & 2 dogs… and what a dream! We live roughly forty-five minutes away, we wanted to feel like we got away but still enjoyed the perks of the Georgia tidal marshes! I read all of the glowing reviews and the one that spoke to me said— the property provided everything I didn’t even know I needed. I felt that deeply in the past three days at River House. We enjoyed everything the property had to offer— family swimming competitions, catching sharks off the dock within minutes of the cast, crabbing, the sweet southern breeze with the tide changes, the live oaks and the sway of the Spanish moss while we enjoyed conversation on the porches. The TV never got used— and that says something with a six and eight year old. We laughed, we played hard, we reconnected. It was without a doubt the property that will host some of my most cherished memories. We’ll be back!
