"Cabin's Looking Rough"

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

First, nothing I say in these comments are directed at the Elk Springs Resort management company. I have been a guest at their resort for over 15 years and they have been nothing but helpful, courteous and professional. These comments are directed to the private owners of this cabin.We stayed at this cabin 3/14/25 - 3/18/25 for a family reunion. We have stayed at numerous cabins @ Elk Springs over the years and this was probably the worst cabin we've stayed in. The furniture and appliances are very outdated (1980's-1990's) and not well maintained. The wooden floors and most of the wooden furniture are scuffed up pretty bad and in need of repair or replacement. The rooms with King beds have very firm and very uncomfortable mattresses. The inside front door frame has been scratched and splintered from dogs clawing when their owners are away. One of the downstairs bedrooms has severe rust and mold growing on the HVAC ceiling vent. Many of the wooden window blinds in the main floor windows are broken and have been chewed on and torn up by dogs that previously stayed there over time. They need to be replaced immediately. The hot tub cover has no fastners to secure the cover to the tub, so when the wind blows, the cover is blown open and leaves and other outside debris gets inside the tub as happened numerous times while we were there. I undertsand that this is a pet friendly cabin and things get damaged by dogs but the owners should take a portion of the thousands of dollars they make off this cabin in one year and update this cabin and replace damaged furnishings. We were very shocked in the condition of this cabin. I said the name should be changed from "Diamond in the Rough" to "Cabin's Looking Rough".
