Great location being 5 min from town centre/harbour with a litter of great restaurants on your doorstep. Local co-op 2 min walk. Several beaches within easy walking distance and Carbis Bay 3 min on train.
Property has good sized bedrooms and facilities. Booking and instructions for arrival great.

Great family house in St Ives
Had a wonderful stay in this comfortable, lovingly furnished home in St. Ives. Plenty of room for everyone, lots of nice touches to add to a fun family vacation. Really appreciated great restaurant recommendations from the owners. So much to do in St. Ives and Cornwall, hope to return one day and would definitely stay at Seren House. Only hiccup we had was a little trouble finding the parking spot, but once parked loved hiking the coastal path and lovely visit to the Tate Gallery.

Fabulous house and so convenient for town.
Fabulous house to stay in and so easy to walk into town. Although the house sleeps 10-12 people there are two rooms with bunk beds which had to sleep two adults in our party so that wasn’t ideal. However, that didn’t detract too much from our stay.
The house is beautifully decorated and fully equipped. Lovely quirky bits too. Love the kitchen table top! Thanks Gavin and family for letting us stay and thanks Geraldine for being so accommodating. Judy Bowden

Great location, lovely house
We had a lovely stay at Seren House. The property is perfectly located, just a couple of minutes walk to the town centre/harbor beach and about 5-10 mins walk to Porthmeor Beach if you are more into the surf. The house is lovely and clean with a well equipped kitchen and the living area is spacious for big groups. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that the parking space is at the back of the house and up a very steep hill which could be difficult for older people to walk up (but this is St Ives!) and also there isn't any outside space you could really sit in, although there is an outside area to dry clothes. But overall we had a great stay.
Two families big summer holiday, 10 of us in total and we had the best time. St Ives is beautiful, friendly and the perfect holiday town.
The house was fantastic, perfectly located, with all mod cons that you’d need whilst away from home.
Fitted us all in very well. Good space for 10. Think 12 could have been a bit of a squeeze. Great number of bathrooms, good living area.
Again, the best location, so close to town and sat between all the beaches.
We’ve all had the best holiday. Thank you for having us.

Wonderful home. Awesome location. Comfortable and clean. Better in real life.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Seren House. Comfy beds, lovely decor, well appointed kitchen a gorgeous home from home.
The Cornish cream tea, flowers and wine were a nice touch. We had felt exhausted after our journey and dove into the scones, jam and clotted cream all washed down with hot tea. Yummy.
The terraced garden is equipped with a coal BBQ, a fire pit, swing chair and dining tables. Watching the sun set over St Ives whilst dining on the terrace was wonderful.
The house is located close to where we wanted to be, near to down town St Ives but far enough away to be quiet at night.
Thank you. We can't wait to come back.
Two families (total 9) stayed a Sereen House for 7 days. The property was immaculately clean, had everything we needed (despite COVID 19 restrictions) and all information was provided to enable us to stay safely. We loved being in the centre of Saint Ives, a short stroll took us to the town, beaches and stunning views. This house is ideal if you want somewhere that feels like home and with two families having 3 bathrooms really helped! The only thing we missed was an accessible garden or outdoor space to sit and have a drink or let the dogs roam. However, being so close to town meant that we just had to go out and discover new places (and cafes) so it wasn't really a hardship! Gavin was very responsive to any questions we asked during our stay. A lovely home from home in a stunning part of the country.
Seran house is in a great location, well equipped beautifully decorated.
Our only problem was that the verbo app did not work on app or web site to view instructions but Gavin our host was quick to ans our emails.
Spacious and comfortable - convenient to everywhere - host is very responsive and accommodating - parking is a pain, though, and needs a better description of how steep the streets are and the best approach to the parking space - need a clear statement of fireplaces being decorative and recycling not being an option - would stay here again. Many gratitudes!
House is in a central location and feels like a family home - some really nice decorative touches. It is well equipped and was clean apart from the crockery snd pans… but I guess that’s down to previous guests. We weren’t expecting any but there isn’t really any usable outdoor space and the garden above that leads to the car cannot be crossed so you do have to walk round … most of what we did was in St Ives so not an issue for us. We did find it very noisy on the street side - we had enough room to move to the bedrooms at the back of the house but if you fill the house you need the ‘late to bed’ers and the sound sleepers at the front of the house!! We were there in a super busy week and I dare say there might be less motorbikes doing laps and late night shouting people at other times of the year!
Great Location close to the centre and all beaches. Host was very helpful and informative.
The property was exactly as described. We had a enjoyable week with our two children (18 and 16 years old) who enjoyed the freedom to be able to walk to the town. My mum and brother and his wife also stayed and again it was great to leave the cars (managed to get a 4x4 and an estate cat in the parking area) for most of the week parked up. We did visit Porthcuno Beach as well as Penzance and Falmouth to get the ferry to St Mawes as well which is definitely worth a trip. Overall a great week.
We had a good week, great weather. Lovely large property. Very clean. Close to St Ives centre. Parking some distance away up hill. With Covid, meals for 10 in restaurants was difficult or impossible so needed to cook in the house. The kitchen equipment e.g. baking trays were perhaps insufficient for such a large group with differing needs (ages 9 months - 69 year old).
We had two water problems a sewage blockage (previous tenant?) and a flexi pipe in the downstairs shower room. The sewage blockage was responded to by the owner very quickly
The whole experience was very easy and convenient to book. Communication with the owners was prompt and friendly .
The property is literally a 5 min walk from the harbour. The peace of mind of having two dedicated parking places is great. Although it is quiet a climb up the steps to it. Lol
We dropped family and bags at the front before taking the cars up to the parking spaces.
Unfortunately the BBQ listed is no longer there, so perhaps take one with you. Finding disposable ones proved near impossible.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and hope to return in the future. Seren House would definitely be a consideration. Thank you to Gavin for his help when having to rearrange, due to the COVID restrictions.
Really well equipped house. Rather late check in and early check out but other than that we couldn’t fault Seren house. Good communication with the owner who always answered my queries immediately. Also, location was great. Very near centre as described - up a steep hill but didn’t prevent my 85yr old mum walking to the beach every day. Would happily stay again.
What a lovely house in a perfect location. This was just what we needed after lockdown restrictions.
Shame the lively pubs couldn’t open and sometimes hard to get meals out due to places being closed.
We all hope to stay in the house again & didn’t want to leave beautiful Cornwall.
A great house for easy living - we loved it. Less than a five minute walk from St Ives harbour where all the bars and restaurants are located as well as the fantastic sandy beaches at low tide.
Good house for extended family holiday in good location

About the host
Hosted by Gavin Bruce
We have been visiting St Ives since 1998 when we met at the famous New Year's Eve celebrations. We immediately fell in love with the place and finally realised our dream to buy a house a few years ago. We are both teachers and have two girls and a little black dog who can't get enough of the place. We come down as often as we can but really like the fact that other people can make the most of Seren House.
Why they chose this property
'Seren' means star in Cornish and the stars certainly shine brightly in St Ives. The House is situated in 'Upalong' and was build in the late 1800's when the railway arrived offering an alternative to the traditional fisherman's cottages. Unlike many of the holiday properties in St Ives, it has lots of space and is accessible without having to climb steep hills or battle with heavy traffic on busy changeover days. It benefits from being close to the shops, cinema, theatre, pubs and restaurants but far enough away from the main street that you can relax in peace and quiet. Seren House is equidistant from all five beaches that are so unique, it can feel like you are on a different holiday every day.
If you enjoy surfing, boogie boarding or stand up paddle boarding it's a short walk over the hill to Porthmeor, a stunning surf beach with really consistent waves. If art is more your thing you can spend hours ambling through the town to Downalong where you'll find a plethora of galleries including the Barbara Hepworth Museum at the end of our road and the Tate St Ives.
What makes this property unique
The accommodation is very flexible and we have arranged the house to comfortably sleep as many people as possible. We often spend a week with three families in the house. The three double bedrooms; the Master bedroom, Rear Double and Attic Room are spacious and luxurious for adults with double or king sized beds and an ensuite bathroom in the Master bedroom and half bathroom in the Attic. These are light and airy with only the sound of the gulls to lull you to sleep.
The two bunk rooms have triple beds in them which mean that they are fairly bijou but does mean that you can sleep up to six children or a combination of adults and children. We find that the kids love to share the bunks with their friends and spend most of the day exploring the beaches or playing in the large lounge/diner so it works perfectly for us.
