Beautiful Island house remodeled in 2024. Ideal location close to shops, restaurants and Captiva Village. Short two block walk to the beach and the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and a half block to the bay. We see dolphin and manatee in the bay all the time.
This home has ground floor living, so no stairs to climb every time you come home from the beach. Sleeps 3 on ground floor with 4 more upstairs. Wonderful back yard completely private, with hot water rinse off shower for sandy feet. Parking for three cars.

Quaint, Clean, Historic & a great location.
Had a great weekend get away. Enjoyed scoot coupes from YOLO & a day of boating from Jensens. This property is central to everything!

Loved the Island House!
Absolutely loved the house. Very comfortable with all the amenities you could want. Especially liked the bikes, beach chairs and beach umbrellas. Terrific location for enjoying local stores and restaurants. Will definitely book again!
This was a lovely choice for us. Prior to our rental, the owner made sure this was a good property choice for us and was attentive & responsive during our stay.
Quaint historic beach house with an excellent location
We had the most amazing time in Captiva and this house was absolutely perfect for what we needed.. The location was awesome and we walked everywhere and barely left the island. The restaurants, beach, and store are all less than 5 minutes walking distance away. Tom was amazing with communication and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely rent this place again.
Our stay at the Island House was delightful. Tom was responsive and kind. The house is warm and "beachy." The four of us (women) scheduled two cruises and enjoyed our short walk to the marina. I highly recommend Captiva Island and the Island House.

Charming Island House
This clean, well maintained house reminds me of old New England style homes near the ocean. It is totally charming with an upstairs apartment, so it is easy to include extra family members in your stay. The house is centrally located just a block and a half from the beach. You can walk everywhere with no shortage of good nearby restaurants with live music. All water sports are available and it is the perfect place to just kick back and relax.

Great House for Two Small Familes
We are two couples each with a late teen son. The home was clean, beds comfortable. One of the features we liked about the property is the separate living areas, each with its own bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Downstairs is large enough for all to gather while each floor offers privacy for the adults/couples. Unless you're looking for a beachfront property, location is within walking distance of about anything you'd need. Beach, restaurants, boat rentals, convenience store (liquor) are all within a 10 minute walk. Would (and hopefully will) book this for another getaway in the future.

A Bit of Paradise
My wife and I went to Captiva for a last-minute getaway and we were lucky that the Island House was still available. The owner and rental agency were extremely nice and accommodating. This charming house is in a perfect location and we absolutely loved staying there. You will find everything you need for relaxation in the house and you will find everything you need for entertainment mere foot steps away. Leave the car in the driveway and take a stroll to the beach or to Doc Ford's or any of the awesome restaurants in village. Captiva in general and the Island House in particular are truly bits of paradise. We highly recommend you go there and decompress the way we did. We can't wait to go back.

Perfect Stay
The Island house was perfect for our family of 4 adults and 1 child. We could have easily accommodated 1 more adult or 2 more children. The upstairs quarters was excellent for the Grandparents and gave them some space and privacy. The house was very clean and we loved the books and pictures about the history of the house and the island. The walk to the beach took about 7 minutes and there were also bikes beach chairs and umbrellas available for our use which was very appreciated. We will definitely be returning. The owner was very responsive and easy to deal with. Thank you!!!

Loved it
I am an author and rented the house for 4 days to write. My writing was very productive. Nice bright open living room. Comfortable leather couches. MBR roomy. King bed was comfortable. AC/fans throughout house worked well and kept the house cool. Real feel outside 100+. Everything I needed in kitchen. Used outdoor gas grill which worked well. Walk to beach and village easily. Although I had some issues checking in (property mgrs fault-not owners), the owner jumped on it right away and took care of situation quickly. Love this place so much I rented again for the following month.
We stayed here in August 2022 for 4 nights. The location of the house could not have been better. It's on a quiet charming neighborhood street but within easy walking (or preferably biking) distance to everything (stores, groceries, beach), The house was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean upon arrival. I'm picky about linens and all were wonderful (soft sheets, thick bath towels, lots of beach towels). The beach chairs and umbrella actually worked which I haven't found to be true in other rentals. The owner, Tom, was very kind and helpful with his advice. The management company was immediately responsive to minor requests. All in all, a wonderful rental.
(Very minor suggestion for next tenants - dish soap, basic spice like salt/pepper, more hot pads and a grill brush.)
Overall, we loved the home. We travelled to Captiva for a wedding and only needed to stay for 5 days. We struggled to find properties to rent for less than 7 days. We found this gem and were so pleased we did. We were initially looking for a place with a pool and plenty of space for my mother and 2 kids, ages 13 and 9 but this place looked charming even without the pool and we thought the location was ideal plus this was one of the few places you can stay for less than a week.
We visited family members staying at South Seas so we just used their pool once or twice but otherwise spent most of the time at the ocean so no pool was just fine
The Island House is literally right behind the Bubble Room- definitely check out the Bubble Room Emporium- very cool gift shop with local stuff to buy and overall a must on your trip here. You cannot beat the location of this place- close to Mucky Duck to enjoy the sunsets (don't forget to saturate yourself in bugspray though) and close to South Seas resort and Doc Fords (a great place for appetizers and drinks).
We found the house to be quiet, spacious and extremely clean. Other houses have newer amenities with pools and more updated appearance but this place felt like home after 2 days. Beds were all quite comfortable- we have many picky people in our group and they all slept like babies (makes for a much better vacation when everyone is well rested). Main shower is very nice and this bathroom is updated. 2nd bathroom had a shower but no hot water (not a big deal- we just used the other two showers in the house). Upstairs living space has a very nice layout with a living area, full kitchen, bathroom (hot water included) and 2 twin beds but you have to get there by outside stairs. Our kids absolutely loved having this space to themselves. Washer and dryer are practically brand new and came in very handy. Plenty of beach towels and beach chairs which was so handy and had plenty of linens which was also appreciated.
Keep in mind you should bring everything you need- salt pepper, condiments, etc. Some places keep this but most in Captiva do not so just plan ahead when you stop for groceries.
There is a small cabinet in the small bedroom next to the kitchen- it has spare suncreen, bug spray, etc (the bug spray is a must- sand flies are everywhere- especially in the evenings)- it looks like what others have left there from prior stays but we didnt find it until the last day.
WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!
We loved our stay on Captiva at Island house. The house is cozy, stocked with everything you need and an ideal location. We loved the separation of the house, it was perfect for multiple generations all wanting their own space. Island house is so charming and we would love to stay there again.
The property was super cozy, clean and it was at really great location. Close to the beach, restaurants and everything else. It was fully equipped with necessary items. The house is also historic. Great stay with the family. The owner was very informative and friendly.
Our family spent the week between Christmas & New Year’s on Captiva. It was lovely- the house is historical & charming- well appointed- close to everything- restaurants, stores, beach & bay. All of the necessary items one would need for a relaxing week of sunshine & sand are provided.
Happy New Year!
What a wonderful house in a wonderful location! The house was clean and well-stocked. We walked to the beach and restaurants. Can't say enough good things about this house.

This house was wonderful. Tom was great to deal with and a breeze to get scheduled. The house had plenty of room for all 7 of us. This house is only a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Captiva Island. Will definitely stay here again.
