On first impression the property looked very run down on the outside compared to other buildings.
When we first arrived the building looked very run down compared to the surrounding buildings. When we entered the building at 3 pm, which was the time we had been told the property would be ready, we found that it had not been cleaned and bedding and towels were not changed. We had to make several phone calls and spoke to 3 different people at Sykes, each time having to re-explain our situation. We also had to talk to the owner who was apologetic. The cleaner did eventually arrive and worked very quickly to clean the apartment but was unable to fix the light bulbs and the broken drawer that the previous clients had mentioned in a note which was left on the table. We were eventually able to take residence in the apartment at about 5.30 pm. Having spoken to various people including the owner it appeared that there had been some communication breakdown between the owner (OwnersDirect), Sykes and the cleaning company which obviously needs to be sorted for future bookings.
We were also greeted midweek by a painter who had come to paint the outside of the house. Whilst this was a much needed enhancement to the house, it was not really what we wanted to be taking place whilst we were staying in this accommodation.
We did however have a lovely week staying in the Llewellan but unfortunately did not start the holiday the way we would have liked to.
