Perfect vacation

This was a perfect location and home to stay. My husband and 2 teenage kids made this our home for a week of vacation. It was an easy drive to the grocery and many restaurants. We enjoyed going into Mashpee and other towns around us. You have beach chairs, kayaks, bikes all there for you to use. We especially enjoyed the patio, garden and pond. We ate fresh cucumbers and squash from the garden and used parsley and basil as well. Couldn't have been better.

The property made us feel right at HOME. The backyard was so peaceful.

We really enjoyed staying at this home. The property was so close to the dock where we spent evenings fishing with the kids. We also enjoyed kayaking to the the SpIt. It was very convenient having 4 kayaks provided. We also enjoyed the proximity to the bike trails. We used the two bikes provided and rode the trails in the Mashpee Woodlands. It was challenging but loads of fun. The backyard was a peaceful spot to sit out eat some meals while observing the hummingbirds and other wildlife. We felt the home had all the necessary items provided and we felt right at HOME. We were able to do day trips to P-town, Chatham and Nauset Beach. One of our best family vacations, we will definitely plan to come back. Thank you!

Beautiful home and grounds

Beautiful home, very clean with all the amenities you could want. Lovely big bedrooms, nice rec room in basement (although we could not get tv to work - but I’m sure that was our fault!). The grounds are breathtaking with lots of beautiful flowers everywhere. A very nice area for walking around the neighborhood and miles of woodland trails just down the street. We discovered many nice restaurants in the area (Bleu being our favorite). Hopefully we can return next year and get much better weather!

Home was perfect! Location great access to Boston, Martha’s Vineyard and all around Cape Cod.

Our family of 5 had an incredible time visiting all around the area, as well as our evenings and mornings at this beautiful (indoors and out) home. We loved the owner provided paddle boards, kayaks, local fishing (poles at the home). It was shark week, which my son loved too. Seems all of cape cod embraces it. Coffee and breakfast each morning on the patio was the perfect start for all our days there. And the homeowner was very accommodating and available, but never interfering with our time at this great home. Highly recommend this property, if you are looking for serenity, but with ready access to the vibrancy of cape cod. My biggest compliment would be that my two teenage daughters and 9 year old, all shared how they were bummed when it was time to head back home. 😀

Nice property but needs some things fixed.

Overall a nice property. We loved the landscaping, fish pond and waterfall and it was very pleasant having coffee on the patio. Down stair den great area to watch TV. While the property had some nice features there are a few minor things that need to be addressed. The ceiling fan in the master bedroom made a clicking sound when turned on so we could not use. One of the windows in the master bedroom wouldn't close all the way and it was rainy and windy one night so we used a towel to cover the opening. There was no TV in master bedroom but other bedrooms had one. Both bikes had flat tires and when I contacted the owner he said the previous renters had misplaced the pump and suggested we go to the gas station to get air. We didn't have bike racks so couldn't use bikes. The ceiling fan in dinning room was warbling a lot so we didn't use. Our adult guests that slept in the twin bedroom felt the mattresses were very uncomfortable and had a hard time sleeping. The house instructions said there was a Keurig and there wasn't one to be found. Very little lighting in living room making it difficult to read. While our stay was only two nights we thought we should mentioned these issues to avoid criticism from future renters.

Clean, spacious, and inviting

We were very pleased with the beautiful house. The outside patio with the koi pond was just so peaceful. Our only problem was the weather. Raining and cloudy for 99% of the stay. We were able to walk to the marina and the forest reserve. Just wonderful. Absolutely recommend this property and hope to return one day.

Very comfortable, clean, and roomy! The gardens, patios, and koi pond were very soothing, peaceful!

This property is accurately described in the listing, and we found it to be very clean, and most everything was in good working order. Steven, the owner, was very responsive to any questions I had, and was great to work with. Our family of four, plus and a cat and a dog had a great stay at this house in Mashpee. The neighborhood, Pirate's Cove, is very quiet, and mostly residents with very few "rentals", a very nice setting. A couple of the kids' friends joined us, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The window air conditioners came in handy as the humidity was brutal for a few days, even for the Cape. The beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen/dining area was roomy, and nicely situated. We enjoyed using the 4 kayaks out on Shoestring bay, going out to the Spit sandbar beach at the end of Popponesset bay one day. It's a fairly long walk to walk the kayaks to the town landing because they are awkward to work with, and there's a small but steep hill you have to go up and down. We used our mini-van to transport them the distance. The upstairs bedrooms and both 1st and 2nd floor bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. I rode my mountain bike on the trails in the nearby Mashpee River Woodlands, with beautiful views of the Mashpee River (watch out for ticks, though). You will see and hear Osprey every day on the bay and river, and even over the house at times. One morning a large Redtail hawk was having breakfast in the neighbors yard - don't get to see that every day! The location was convenient for getting out to Falmouth and Hyannis. It was extremely peaceful having coffee in the morning out by the Koi pond, and filling the bird feeder brought around a slew of tuft titmice, sparrows, chipmunks. Bottom line: this property is well-maintained, very clean and comfortable, the owner Steve is very easy to work with and responsive, and we highly recommend staying here.

Sisters Getaway

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!! It was the perfect getaway for my sisters and I to spend some quality time. We absolutely loved your beautiful gardens and spent a lot of time relaxing around the koi pond. We were so comfortable there and had everything we needed that some nights we cancelled plans we had to go out and chose to stay in and cook. Very conveniently located to get to the beach and the shops. We also appreciated having beach chairs and towels to use. We will definitely be back and also recommend this to our friends.

Lovely Cape Cod Home

This was a 3 generation vacation; 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 young adults. We had not been to Cape Cod and found this home to be a lovely home to stay in, and it was in an ideal location. The accommodations were great and it was neat and clean. We ate breakfast here every morning and dinner three evenings. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The owner even left us oranges & watermelon. The backyard is peaceful and quiet and there is a waterfall that will lull you to sleep. The waterfall goes into a small fish pond and we enjoyed feeding the fish. The neighborhood is nice to walk in and we walked to see the lake. We did day trips to Hyannis Port, Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard, Boston, and to see Yale in New Hampshire. We took the 45 minute ferry ride from Woods Hole to Martha's Vineyard. In Boston, we walked the Freedom Trail, saw the USS Constitution & Boston College. The neighbor across the street was helpful. He suggested we see Falmouth as there are a number of good restaurants. The owner promptly answered my e-mails and answered my questions. We would recommend you stay here. The owner left us an awesome gift, but we won't tell you what it is. You have to stay to find out!

Most Excellent Cape Experience Aug 17 2015

This home gives you everything you need for amenities to location to that at home feel. From the moment we walked in we were comfortable. We were able to get to anywhere on the cape without any hassles. The owner makes it easy and it was very clean and everything you need is there. This home gets five starts as I have nothing but positives to say.
