Florida Getaway

My wife and I had a great time at 1550 San Charles Drive in Dunedin. The accommodations were great. The living area was spacious and the backyard with built in pool was fabulous. Th we was a bit of maintenance required to maintain the pool in late November and December when the acorns fell from the large oak tree, but that was a minor nuisance. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Paul was very easy to communicate with and very responsive to our needs.

Wish we could stay longer

Overall, this is an incredibly comfortable home. Kitchen is well stocked w utensils, stoneware dishes, lots of bowls of many sizes, plenty of pots and pans, and even had a salad spinner and a teapot. Living room has three recliners, which got lots of use. Good sized flat screen TV w cable service. Never had a problem with the wifi. There are also two couches. There is wonderful room between dining area and screen room w a game table and a whole set of comfortable chairs plus a desk. Then there is the pool, which was wonderful. Sometimes the water was a bit chilly but we were in it almost every day. You will want to clean out some of the leaves each day, but otherwise, someone appears and takes care of the pool whether or not you are there. At the end of the day, the king size bed encouraged dreams and relaxation. Very comfortable. We didn't use the room w the twin beds but it's a nice looking room. Water pressure in the shower was very good and the laundry room was important, especially as we used pool towels and beach towels almost everyday. The grill is pretty old but it did it's job and we did use it many times. The back yard has lounge chairs and the screen rooms are both wonderful places for relaxing, eating (in the back) and reading. The yard is so incredibly private thanks to all the trees and plants, despite the closeness of neighbors. We didn't have any issue w neighbors and rarely heard them. It's about smile walk to the town, with options for restaurants, bars and breweries along the way. The Pinellas Trail is one of our favorite things about this area and started recognizing others during our daily walks or bike rides. I hope we get to stay here again. This is a home, so liveable, not a sterile cookie cutter condo. We really don't want to leave.

2019 Florida vacation!

The property was above our expectations! All of the comforts of home like having the little things you don’t think about.... spices if you need them. Tooth picks, games or a nice library for a rainy day! Owners were super nice and accommodating!!! Give this rental experience a 10 ⭐️!!! Would recommend this!!!

Such a wonderful home!

The neighborhood was nice, quiet and we felt very safe being away from home. My girls loved the pool and the gardens❤️ Close to Clearwater, but not in the hustle of the city. We visited Honeymoon Isalnd and the beaches, it was so nice to be so close! Owners were excellent and we will definitely be back! #hiddengem #ilovedunedin #cantwaittovisitagain❤️

Definitely not worth the price for March!

The house was nice but know that the main TV is old and has blown speakers so you cant hear it at a louder volume. The TV (monitor) in the master is only about 20in. There is no other TVs in house. We actually went and bought one and brought it home with us. The deck was a mess of screws and nails coming up along with some loose boards. A friend sliced the bottom of her foot open on one after getting out the pool and I tore my heel on one at the edge of the stair. Owner states that he has a pool company that will come twice a week which we assumed was to take care of the pool leaving us to think that a team would come and clean this is not the case. One man comes and dumps chemicals and leaves and the second day an elderly (very nice) lady comes to vacuum and clean pool which made me feel very uncomfortable so we just took care of everything ourselves and just left her to run vacuum because it was not left at house. My husband and I went and bought new nets and pins for equipment and spend about an hour or more a day cleaning the pool. We had this house for the entire month of March and the leaves we awful there would be a layer every morning and there was no cover so every morning this had to be done and several times during day. The back neighbor spends his nights drinking and singing and listening to loud music until about 4am. The houses across the street and next door were under construction so that was not so nice. They offered 3 bikes to use all of which had flat tires. The house was clean and did provide everything you needed and did have new appliances but we definitely felt it was way overpriced. The area is nice and we definitely will be back just not to this house. I also contacted the owner on several occasions to try to discuss these issues before I left a review but he never responded.

Great location and house

Well-equipped, well-maintained and comfortable house in a great location. Quiet neighbourhood, walking distance to Pinellas Trail, Hammock Park, "downtown" Dunedin, and an easy drive to Honeymoon Beach State Park, Clearwater and St.Petersburg. On rainy days we enjoyed sitting out in the screened-in porch (lanai) reading books from the selection available in the house. Paul was very kind and helpful, especially when we had a health scare at the end of our stay. Thanks Paul. Hope to be back next winter.

Great Vacation Rental!

The house was perfect for us. We brought our two miniature schnauzers and we all fell in love with the house, its location and the town and people of Dunedin. The house is a few blocks from the beautiful Pinellas walking trail which we utilized every morning. Paul and Lois were great - very informative and always available to answer any questions we had. The house was very clean and extremely comfortable. Beware of the recliners in the living room.....we fell asleep in them almost every night because they were so comfortable. We definitely recommend this rental and and hope to vacation here again next year.

Relaxing holiday

We rented this lovely home for a month and were delighted. Very spacious and comfortable. Having a backyard pool to relax by in the heat of the day when it was too hot for the beach was fantastic. The owners are very accommodating and accessible and solved a minor problem immediately. Dunedin has many dog friendly pubs and restaurants and our Pekinese and Shih Tzu loved going out with us. Our favorites were The Brown Boxer in Clearwater Beach and JolliMon's Grille in Dunedin. We recommend this home for anyone with pets looking for a relaxing holiday they can enjoy with them.

Perfect Getaway

Perfect place for a peaceful getaway but within walking distance to trails, parks and wonderful downtown Dunedin. The house was just the right size for 3 -4 people with an excellent kitchen and great pool and backyard. This was our first vacation rental and the owner was very helpful.

We spend the winter in this home. It is very comfortable. It is not luxurious or fancy. It's an average, comfortable home. We put all our personal stuff away all our photos, books, personal items, etc---so you can make it your own place. There's a large screen TV in the living room. It has approx 30 digital antenna stations, including the major networks. We suggest you bring or buy a Roku or Firestick device for streaming the best content.

Why they chose this property

As you probably know, Dunedin has become a vacation destination. There are countless new restaurants and shops. The town is unique because you can be quiet and enjoy nature, or take part in the ever expanding and growing night life scene. The town offers so many great resources, including the Community Center with a full gym and classes, the Fine Arts Center with exhibits and over 200 art classes a year; and the Hale Senior center with daily classes & events. There were frequent festivals, street fairs, etc, throughout the year. Also there are many beautiful strolls to take along the waterfront, and the town is always adding new park space with new & different recreation opportunities.

What makes this property unique

Our pool is beautiful. It's open to the sky, so your'e really in the nature of our greenery with birds & butterflies overhead as you float in comfort. All pool & yard care are provided. The house is spacious and roomy. The location is excellent, with wonderful destinations in every direction. It's a 6 block walk to the waterfront where you can watch the sunset every night---a popular activity here! The nearby causeway (known as "Dunedin Beach" is a great hang out, and leads to Honeymoon Island, literally the most popular state park in Florida! Clearwater is next door, and St Petersburg and Tampa are less than an hour's drive. And don't forget spring training with the Toronto Bluejays here in Dunedin, the Phillies next door in Clearwater, the Yankees in Tampa, and the Tampa Rays in St. Pete.
