A beautiful little cabin right on the water. We all had an amazing time. Del is a fantastic and friendly host. Looking forward to staying again in the future!
Beautiful and peaceful cabin right on the lake!! Really, my 8 year old counted his steps ( yes he stretched them out a bit, but still,) and he counted 10 steps from the corner of the cabin to the dock. Hosts could not have been more pleasant. When I asked where I could buy coffee beans- I forgot them-the neighbor girl ran home and ground some for me and gifted them to me! Absolutely will be back!
The inside of the cottage is quite nice and the outside is not really important. We enjoyed the lake very much and the surrounding area. The only annoyance were the two neighbor dogs who bark loudly and often. They were quiet at night however.
I did not stay at the cabin. I received no notice from owners with any information regarding arrival until I contacted them the evening prior to arrival. It was verbal and I was informed the dock was not yet put in and would be put in the following day after I arrived. I was also informed the cabin was open and there would be a key for me to lock it while I stayed there. The first evening we grilled and the grill had to be cleaned in order to avoid the dirt and grease from igniting. We realized prior to the evening that one of the doors was shifted and would not lock. When we asked the owner he gave a lot of excuses for why it didn't lock and that we didn't need to lock the door anyway. We decided not to stay that evening and were informed the dock would be put in the next morning and the door looked at. The next day we were never contacted about the door or the dock. In the afternoon I spoke with the lady making the reservation and she stated the door would not be fixed so reservation was cancelled. Huge disappointment. Lots of stuff laying around the yard and poorly kept. Very poor communication and no attempt to fix the issues. Should not be able to rent a place that is not secure.
Great place to stay! Beautiful views and friendly people! Will definately stay here again!

Cozy, idyllic cabin on the lake
We had a peaceful and comfortable stay at Donn’s cabin. The place was adorned with rustic and friendly furniture that you’d find at a friend’s ranch home, but with modern updates in the bathroom. We loved having access to Donn’s kayaks to paddle the relaxing Lake Nebagamon, perfectly scattered with friendly boaters of all kinds. If you are looking for a quiet and replenishing escape, there’s no better place in Douglas county to find sanctuary.

Great family get-away
Donn and Dell were wonderful hosts who made us feel at home. We lucked out with some fantastic weather which allowed us to make good use of the lake, kayaking and heading out on the pontoon as well as bbqing outside. The pictures on the website do not do the cabin justice....you are much closer to the lake than it appears. You get wonderful views of the lake from the living room, dining area and even while doing dishes! Some of the furnishings are outdated, but that suited us well as we had a baby and chocolate lab in tow. All in all a great and relaxing weekend. We would certainly consider staying here again and feel that it was priced quite reasonably.

About the host
Hosted by DEL BERGQUIST
Donn & Del look forward to your stay at Loon Calling Cabin. Donn is well acquainted with this property since it has been in his family beyond his own lifetime. Donn & Del love the outdoors. During the summer they water ski, swim, entertain family & friends around an evening campfire ring and more. They enjoy the lake on their pontoon. They have a strong draw towards being home for rescue dogs needing a place of good care and love. If you have questions about local and area events it's a pretty good chance they have attended some of them. You need something, they will do everything they can to secure it for you.
Why they chose this property
Donn & Del really want you, your family & friends to enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities from your cabin on Lake Nebagamon. You can get to the village of Lake Nebagamon by water within sight of your cabin. There you can enjoy several dining options, the well known Dairy Queen, some local shops and churches. A grocery store/gas station is also available.
