Family get away to the moutains

We loved staying at the cabin for a quiet family vacation in the moutains. We opted to reschedule our vacation due to hurricane flooding and Leslie worked with us to find a new date for our stay. The cabin was clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and there were plenty of movies and games for our family to enjoy! We're excited to come back!

It was un "Bear"able to leave

What a great place. We ran from Milton to the mountains and what a Gem we found. It doesn't bother anyone that there was no wifi. We had a great time.

Best "second home" away from home :)

Loved being in this cabin every minute. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies and the set up for a couple without kids having a half bath in their room and the couple with two kids having the bunkbeds attached directly to their room was perfect. One word of caution- we have a vehicle with front wheel drive and were pulling a trailer- the driveway was too sreep to pull the trailer up and we had to unload at the bottom and ride the two motorcycles on the trailer up separately and then our vehicle could pull the empty trailer up. We really enjoyed listening to the rain from the porch swings and using the grill for many of our meals.

Our stay at bearadise.

This place is great if you want peace and quiet. The cabin has everything you could need. Very comfortable plenty of room. And it’s situated between plenty of sites and attractions. The ring on the porch will provide a lot of entertainment also.

Nice peaceful place!

They have lots of things to entertain kids, which was nice for us because we have a four and a seven-year-old all the games and movies were nice for after a long day of hiking. I enjoyed grilling and the fire pit and sitting out on the porch.

This property is for folks who want to unplug

The property is up a difficult road in which to get to. There is no internet (which was disclosed) but was told you couldn’t get internet in mountain but there were several in the area that had it. Basic cable so no streaming channels. The water was not directly across the street as stated. You had to drive there. There was lots of garbage under the pullout couch. Made us uncomfortable. One of the persons sleeping on it got several bites. I’d only recommend this site for someone who wants to be alone with their thoughts. Loved the porch. I had just received the news that I had breast cancer on my trip up there so the solitude was a good and bad thing. I won’t be back. I prefer a place where I can stay in touch.

Family reunion

Was looking for a place close to a family reunion i had to attend in Franklin. This cabin was within 5 miles. Very pleased with our stay, cabin was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Was even able to do some baking to take some treats to the reunion as the kitchen had all the bakeware and appliances i needed. Owners were very responsive every time I had a question with quick and friendly replies. Enjoyed my early morning coffee every morning on the expansive porch with swings and rocking chairs while listening to the sounds of nature all around. Road to cabin was easily navigable even for a Miami native used to flat terrain. Only downside was the lack of cell service and internet, but we knew about it beforehand, so no complaints from us. I for one do not mind disconnecting from the world every so often and it was great seeing teenage boys not permanently fixated on their phones. They were quite proud when the figured out how to use the VCR in the bunk room all by themselves without having ever seen one and enjoyed movies every night. All in all a great stay and would definitely book again if i needed to come back to the area.

Very pleasant!

We were very happy and cozy at the cabin and everything there is to do wasn’t but about 20 to 30 minutes away. We loved the waterfalls in the area. We all loved the ring game on the porch, it’s a very cozy and comfortable cabin to stay in and we look forward to reserving it in the future. Thank you for letting us stay there, it was great!

Good base camp

This was a great location for our several states motorcycle tour . The last part of the driveway isn't for the novice motorcyclist it's steep but manageable. The cabin was clean and the water was very drinkable. Cabin was well stocked and comfortable . Was a good hangout on one of our rain delays. Even watched a few of Thier DVDs . My group wants to repeat the whole trip .

We enjoyed staying at this cabin once again. Cabin had been remodeled adding a third bedroom. The only thing that could make the stay better would be to add WiFi and even without it, I would definitely return.

No internet or cell service

The driveway is a bit difficult so if you drive a low to ground car I would extremely cautious. This is listing is 20-30 minutes out of town. There is no cell service and the check out instructions are a bit extra. But not bad if you're looking for something off grid.

About the host

Host profile image
Hi my name is Mark, my wife Leslie and I want to Welcome you to our cabin VRBO Site. We are blessed to be the care takers of this great property. We are native Floridians
but we love being in the mountains. We fell in love with the Town of Franklin & the Franklin Area. The area is so beautiful with the rolling mountains, flowing streams & rivers. Not to mention the great number beautiful water falls around the area. Beside the beauty of the area, the people in and around Franklin area are very friendly to new comers. Franklin is very close to so many things to do and places to see with in a few minutes or hours. All this without the craziness and business of a larger city. The Gem mining is the best of any place I know around the country. But the thing I personally love the most is to be able to just get away from it all and to just relax in a rocker with my feet propped up on a the porch rail and just enjoy the views, sounds and fresh air of being in the mountains.

Why they chose this property

Since the Smokies is one of our favorite places to visit, when the opportunity came to purchase a cabin in Franklin we jumped on it! The Franklin area is a charming community with much to do in the area. We have enjoyed owning this cabin and we love sharing it with others to experience the tranquility we have found there. This peaceful retreat is nestled among trees on top of a hill with lots of privacy and tranquility. We have outfitted our cabin to be like we would want it to be to live there. That means we take pride in the way our cabin is presented. We have chosen furniture that is good quality and comfortable. As well as keeping the cabin tidy and clean. The wrap around porch has 2 porch swings & plenty of rockers for all who come to stay. We want all our guests to feel right at home and to want to return to 'Another Day in Bearadise' time & time again. We want our guests to feel like this Cabin is their Mountain Retreat Get Away Spot from today's very hectic lives that we all live. So come give us a try you will not be disappointed!

What makes this property unique

Our cabin is located quiet little community in a part of the Smoky mountains that makes it convenient to many destinations. A 30 minute drive to Cherokee, Bryson City and many other site seeing cities. It is in a great location for many activities. We are in the heart of the Gem Mining, hiking trails, and waterfalls. Also very close to white water rafting and the Great Smokey Mountain train ride in Bryson City. The Little Tennessee river to fish, tube or canoe is just across the highway. You can stay busy all day with all the things to do. However, if you don't want to be busy it is so relaxing to just sit on the wrap around porch taking in the fresh mountain air. When you stay at our cabin you are able to disconnect from all the hustle and bustle that constantly pulls on your daily schedule. With the peace and quiet you can really disconnect and actually engage one another in conversations and spending time around the fire pit or playing games together. You are able to take the time to make lifetime memories together. We take pride in making our cabin clean, comfortable and set up for your enjoyment. It is a perfect place for a getaway in the Smokies.
