Enjoy walking to Balboa Island's restaurants, cafes, and bayside beaches, with the main Peninsula beaches only 15 minutes away via the ferry.

Island Retreat is a 2-story front unit that has 1 bedroom downstairs with an attached bathroom, and 3 more bedrooms accompanied by 2 bathrooms upstairs. This immaculate, cheery and bright home is fully furnished and equipped. Ready for a comfortable and worry-free summer beach vacation or winter rental!

Activities and Attractions:

Our property is located less than one block from the beautiful Balboa Bay, boardwalk, and the Balboa Ferry that gives access to the Peninsula beaches and Pacific Ocean. The ferry is a lovely 5 minute ride directly to the Balboa Fun Zone (with arcades, rides, and snacks), the Balboa Pier, shopping and restaurants, boating and fishing excursions (including transport to nearby Catalina Island), and bike/water sport rentals.

Agate is the only street on the island with a children's climbing gym and basketball court. On the island itself, Marine Avenue boasts fine restaurants and boutique shops that are only 2 miles away from even more fine dining, shopping, and movie theaters at Newport's famous outdoor mall, Fashion Island.

For those interested in seeing more of the Orange County coastline, Laguna Beach lies only 7 miles further down the Pacific Coast Highway. Originally an artist's colony, Laguna hosts the Pageant of the Masters and Sawdust Festival in the summer, art galleries, and fine dining and shopping along with wonderful beaches with tide pools.

Island Retreat is within 30 minutes of Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm and an hour or so from Universal Studios, Hollywood, San Diego Zoo and Sea World. The Santa Ana/Orange County (SNA) Airport is only 10 minutes away and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is approximately 45 minutes away.

No parking for trucks and trailers.

I had reserved this home to stay for a nearby project we were completing. On arrival the street was narrow, and there was no place for us to park the truck and trailer. Then asked the host for a refund. They could not give me one and mention that I had to do it myself. Well, I did I tried to cancel the And the system would not let me cancel. We could not stay at this location due to parking with the truck and trailer that we had so we had to pay to stay somewhere else and pay for that reservation as well. I also own Vrbo vacation rentals this has happened in the past to some of my clients or customers and I always refund them their money if there’s any type of a problem. I think owner is more worried about the money in their pocket than to do what is right for their customers

Weekend in Balboa

This was an incredible property for a weekend stay in Balboa. Location less than a minute walk from the ferry made it very easy to get around. Very spacious property with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, making it a great choice for large groups. The property manager was very responsive and kind. Would definitely stay here again!

Cute area. The house was a little worse for the ware (showers not working, broken small appliances, patched holes in the wall) but that makes sense after what I’m sure was a busy summer season. It was good for what we needed- a place to crash for two nights. I don’t think we would have tolerated a longer stay

Girls weekend

Girls trip for 5. Location was great, close to ferry and short walk to shopping and dining. Ended up driving a Tahoe and there was available street parking, the garage would have been too tight. We parked the car and left it for the weekend just using the ferry and walking everywhere.

Enjoyed a visit to Balboa last year and did it again this year. Kids, 15 and 12, know the island and Newport well. Close to the ferry, a garage space and AC. Host was responsive and very accommodating. No complaints.

Fun at the Beach!

Great stay that accommodated all of our needs and more! Loved having access to all the beach toys! Great location, easy access to and from the airport, to and from Disneyland, to and from the beach, and quick walk to the marina. The beds were a bit small and uncomfortable and the curtains in the rooms (if there were any) could be switched for blackout. Otherwise a very enjoyable vacation!

Great location

This home was within walking distance to several attractions and within a 30 min drive to knotts berry farm. The house has enough room for our family and was very clean. The host communicated quickly and resolved any issues we had immediately. I would highly recommend this house to friends and family!!

Just as promised. Great place.

We booked this house for ourselves and our sons and their wives and kids. We had 7 adults and 2 five-year old children staying and the house accommodated our needs. We had plenty of places to sit and enough beds with extra pillows and blankets. There were enough towels (some places barely give any) and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and gadgets for cooking family meals. We had three cars but there was no problem finding parking, and it was a short half-block walk to take the ferry over to the other side of the island. The property management was very responsive (Thanks Mitch!) and would definitely book again if we head down that way.

Perfect Local on Balboa

We loved this location... our teenage sons went across the street to play basketball several times a day! Perfect spot with a small market and restaurant steps away, or we took the stroll to the main shops. Really enjoyed our stay... thank you!

You can't go wrong on Balboa Island

The location of this place is great. However, the roof leaked making the tile floor dangerous, cracked dishes were present and we had items taken from the garage, without leaving it unlocked, and with poor assistance from the host. I'll stay on Balboa again, but not here.

Nice location

This house is in a great location. It’s NOT ocean view but it is just a quick little walk to the ferry and a nice walkway along the harbor. To get beach access you cross the ferry and it’s just a couple blocks. Overall we loved the location. There were a few things that the house needed , there were either no batteries in the tv remotes or they were dead. The downstairs bathroom is extremely tiny and there was no toilet paper holder, & no counter whatsoever. Upstairs was decent. Although on our way to the house we got a message that we were unable to use one of the upstairs showers which was inconvenient traveling with a large family. Also the parking is difficult, I was under the impression there was a 2 car garage but also last minute we were informed that we had to share the garage with another tenant. Don’t bring a truck, it will not fit. The parking along the street is packed and hard to find parking. The house was decently clean but it’s nothing fancy if that’s what your used to. Maybe check before booking that all the house amenities are in working condition, showers, tv’s etc.
