Beautiful villa

The villa was lovely we had a great week. What’s really special are the magnificent views, we enjoyed the outdoor areas and the pool was beautiful. The local town was only a five minute drive away with some lovely places to eat. We visited the beaches at Nerja and also went to the bodega. Overall a lovely place to stay

Beautiful location

Beautiful views for a quiet holiday, wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Pool is perfect and the children loved it. Villa is comfortable. The local town is unspoilt and only 5 minute drive. Car required, to explore further afield and lots of things to keep a family busy in the area. Area is amazing for hiking and cycling.

Tranquil vacation villa

We’ve just returned from a 10 day stay at this gorgeous villa. We wanted peace and quiet, to be able to chill out and rest and that’s exactly what we got. We were thrilled that WiFi had recently been installed. The kids (aged 13,11,7) never tired of the pool or villa. The amenities were good and of high standard. Thank you to Heather who helped us out on a couple of occasions. I definitely will recommend this villa to others and I hope we get an opportunity to return.

Villa in the mountains

The villa itself was beautiful, the pool was perfect temperature and the views were stunning. Unfortunately due to electrical issues my husband and I received numerous electric shocks from the appliances in the kitchen. Even a brand new toaster that we purchased ourselves. The host was good in that an electrician was offered but it wasn’t likely that it would be during our stay. We also had a fine when we left the property which I felt was very unreasonable as we left the villa clean and tidy. So if renting just make sure you do the cleaners job for her otherwise you’ll be fined too. On our last morning the water ran out completely. We were unable to shower or use the toilets so not ideal when you have a house full of guests . Communication was good with the host it’s just a shame those factors let it down. Having had those issues I don’t think we would return which is a shame but there are plenty of other villas in the same area

Location spectacular - management let it down

Location and outside area, where we spent the majority of this chill out vacation, were very good. However the management of the property appears remote. The pool on arrival was algae bound and you could not view the bottom. No swimming for two days and the application of chemicals cleared the water at the end of the first week of our stay. A problem involving no water or power on day 3 was complicated by the information folder containing contact information for a caretaker who had not had involvement with the property for at least a year and the hosts mother. Later there was no hot water - three empty cans beneath the boiler but no person seemed responsible for replacing. We restored the service by using a gas canister from within the property. The bed mattresses and pillows were tired and not comfortable. Great area for a holiday and we once again enjoyed our time around Canillas but the avoidable problems spoilt our first week.

Light , Warmth and Tranquility in a Spanish oasis.

The main road from the airport is good and once you have turned off and heading up the mountain the be prepared for some stunning scenery. Winding your way around the bends[good road] make you appreciate that you have chosen somewhere special . The villa is delightful, clean and spacious. The nearest village is a walk away if you are feeling energetic and a short drive by car. It is typical Spanish hilltop village with good places to sample the tapas and practice your Spanish. It is worth stocking up with food in the major supermarkets on the road from the airport . The villa is a wonderful location to plan adventures into the Spanish countryside but once in the villa it is so tempting to spend all the time staring at the mountains, breathing the fresh air and reading the books you have promised yourself you would read. There is no internet so you can really relax . Internet is available in the village. The information provided by the owner was good and there is information in the villa about local attractions e.g guided walks from the village and other local villages . Remember to take walking boots as some of these walks are more than a casual stroll . If you are into climbing a must visit is to El Choro . These are world renowned climbs so you need plan ahead if you are intending to tackle these slopes. Serious rock! The Summer would be too hot unless you climb early in the day . The journey to El Choro going across country is breathtaking or / and you can go via the motorway towards and beyond Malaga. A long day out but a real opportunity to explore other towns and villages as well as experiencing some first class scenery . For coast lovers, this is not too far away and worth combining with a market day . Velez Malaga is just inland from the coast and a lovely town . As a winter visitor to the villa the swimming pool looked inviting but only for the very committed as understandably cold. I am sure it is an asset in the Summer but if you have little ones you need to exercise the usual caution of children and water. I think this is a great place for people who need to relax, enjoy peace and appreciate the wonder of the mountains and yet be in travel distance of the coast and city attractions .

Heerlijk vakantieverblijf op schitterende locatie

Heerlijk vakantiehuis in het Spaanse Canillas. Het huis is exact zoals op de foto's. Geen luxe toestanden, tegelijkertijd ontbreekt het aan niets. De grootste troef is het heerlijke zwembad. We hebben genoten!

Sehr schöne Vila zum erholen

Shona war eine sehr nette Gastgeberin, bei Fragen haben wir sofort eine Antwort bekommen. Der Pool ist schön groß, perfekt um Bahnen zu schwimmen. Die Liegen am Pool sind sehr bequem, so konnte man schön sonnenbaden. Die ruhige Lage haben wir sehr genossen und konnten so schnell vom Alltag abschalten. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Vielen lieben Dank für die entspannten Tage.

Un oasis precioso

La casa de Shona es maravillosa. Es grande, espaciosa y tiene todo lo necesario para pasar unos días inolvidables. Fuimos tres adultos y dos niños y disfrutamos desayunando y comiendo en el porche y, sobre todo, bañándonos en la piscina. No es recomendable ir con niños caminando al pueblo. Mejor tener coche para poder visitar otros pueblos de la Axarquía. Aunque Canillas de Aceituno es uno de los mejores, con tiendas, bares y mucha vida. Nos encantaría repetir la experiencia. Esta casa es totalmente recomendable.

Spectacular Location

I stayed at the villa for 17 days, during which time I was joined by various friends and family at different times. Everyone loved it. The location is wonderfully scenic and the outside of the property blends with it perfectly. The pool is great & has the best views off the hills. This villa is more "rustic" than luxury, so you have to take the rough with the smooth. Some of the interior furnishings are a little dated, but there is everything you need. The bedding is a little mismatched, but it's clean and basically fine. The beds are comfortable; however the pillows are in need of replacing. The more time I spent at the villa the more I loved it. The town is 20 minute uphill walk, which is OK if you are reasonably fit & big supermarkets are an easy drive away. Beaches are also within easy reach. In early April is is a bit chilly at night, so take some layers, by may it was hot outside, but a lovely temperature inside. Heather, who looks after the property is kind and helpful. I would recommend a stay if absolute luxury isn't your thing. I would definitely return.

Une maison dans un environnement agréable

La maison est située dans un environnement agréable (dans les montagnes, à 25 km de la mer, entre des champs d'oliviers, d'avocatiers, et de manguiers) mais un petit peu éloigné des commodités (courses alimentaires notamment). Elle est plutôt bien située pour visiter de nombreux sites intéressants : Malaga, Grenade, Torre del Mar, Velez-Malaga, Nerja, et les petits villages blanc typiques (Canillas, Mijas, Frigiliana, Moclinejo...). L'environnement est assez calme malgré quelques chiens voisins qui aboient régulièrement. La maison est propre et assez bien équipée (il manquerait selon nous davantage de vaisselle pour une famille de 5-6 personnes, et un moyen permettant de faire sécher le linge dehors). Elle est décorée avec goût. Une machine à laver est essentielle à cette location puisqu'elle est destinée à des familles, avec enfants. Nous avions peur de la chaleur, mais nous sommes parvenus à garder la fraicheur grâce aux ventilateurs. La propriétaire est très facilement joignable et conviviale. La documentation touristique fournie nécessiterait d'être mise à jour. La piscine est très agréable et bien aménagée. Par contre, la surveillance des jeunes enfants est nécessaire car il n'y a pas de garde-corps à son extrémité (risque de chute possible). Voilà, vous savez tout! Nous avons passé un agréable séjour.

Vacances reposante et calme

La maison est très belle, dommage qu'elle ne soit pas clôturée (plusieurs chiens viennent sur le terrain faire leurs besoins, j'ai ramassé beaucoup de déjection), dommage également qu'il n'y ai pas de machine à laver, ni d'étendoir à linge derrière la maison, quand on rentre de la plage ou tout simplement pour faire sécher du linge c'est très pratique. Le village de Canillas de aceintuno est très joli, il y a pleins de petits commerces de proximité pour faire des courses

Geen vaatwasser en wasmachine aanwezig dat is jammer als je met 6 personen bent

Prima ligging . Leuk huis . Niet echt schoon . Slechte bedden . En in de omgeving blaffen de hele nacht honden die je wakker houden . Dit is echt heel jammer. Ik ga dus niet meer dit huis huren in de toekomst

Sehr schönes Haus, sehr ruhig gelegen, mitten in den Bergen

Sheila’s Haus ist wirklich sehr schön, sauber, großzügig und sehr gut mit allem ausgestattet. Der Pool ist herrlich und hat eine schöne Größe, Grillstelle ist am Pool vorhanden und vor Regen oder Sonne schützt die schöne überdachte Ecke am Haus. Aber auch am Pool befindet sich ein großer Tisch mit ausreichend Stühlen. Liegen, Sonnenschirm, alles vorhanden. Da wir ziemliches Pech mit dem Wetter hatten und es sehr viel geregnet hat, waren die Wege zum Haus recht ausgeschwemmt und ausgefahren. Das Wasser im Pool aufgrund des Wetters leider zu kalt zum Schwimmen. Oft hingen die dicken Wolken in den Bergen, an der Küste war es aber schön und sonnig. Wer absolute Ruhe sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Wer viel erkunden möchte muss wissen, dass sich das Haus wirklich in den Bergen befindet und man mind. 25 Min. bis nach Velez Malaga fährt – lange über Serpentinen. Im Sommer ist es sicherlich angenehm kühler in den Bergen als an der heißen Küste und in den Städten.

Pool und Aussicht sind fantastisch!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Pool war einmalig mit einer schönen Tiefe. Es war alles vorhanden, was man für einen Urlaub benötigt. Heather war freundlich und hilfsbereit und Mike sehr zuvorkommend und für Tipps zu haben. Wir hatten wunderschöne 14 Tage in den Bergen Andalusiens!

Ein wundervolles Plätzchen zum Entspannen

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Ferienhaus gefiel uns außerordenlich gut. Auch im noch recht kühlen März stellte das Häuschen alles zur Verfügung um sich nach einer langen Wanderung rundum wohl zu fühlen: Eine bequeme Sofaecke vor dem Kamin, Brettspiele, Bücher und sehr stilvolle Jazz-CDs. Generell zeigte sich die Ausstattung vollständig und geschmackvoll. Zur Außenanlage gehören ein großzügiger, gepflegter Pool und Terrassen rund um das Haus, die vielfältige Sitzmöglichkeiten und wunderbare Aussichten auf die umliegenden Berge bieten. Die Lage des Hauses direkt am Naturpark kommt jedem Wander- und Naturfreund zu gute und garantiert ein wundervolles Fleckchen Erde zum Entspannen :-) Vielen Dank für deine tolle Unterkunft, Sheila! Alles Gute wünschen Maja und Uwe sowie Christian und Lisa.

Amazing villa and lovely village.

The villa was idyllic and peaceful. Quite rural and charming. The local village was so traditionally Spanish and welcoming. Thanks to mike and heather for all their tips.

Een prachtige gezellige woning met een heerlijk breed terras van waaruit een geweldig uitzicht.

De weg naar de woning wordt steeds spannender en dan kom je aan op een plek waar je voorlopig niet weg wil, een 'warm' huis, twee badkamers, heerlijk terras, zwembad. Fantastisch uitzicht, prachtige bloemen in de tuin, er heerst rust.. In korte tijd naar het mooie Cannilas de Aceituno.

Stunning views, very relaxing

Most relaxing holiday ever! I went with a group of girl friends and spent the weekend sunbathing, enjoying drinks on the terrace and admiring the views. We didn't explore the area too much as we were happy to stay in the villa but there are many natural walks and the village is close by :) I would really recommend staying here.
