A wonderful Honeymoon destination

We decided to find a rural setting for our honeymoon and came upon Barou. We're delighted that we booked the cottage as it was the perfect destination for our honeymoon. We wanted somewhere secluded and quiet and certainly got that. To find the cottage you need to drive down a couple of lanes and past a farm and it is on a hillside just outside the village of Montigue de quercy. Total relaxation. The house is clean, the beds are comfortable and the living room is cosy if you decide to have a night of watching movies! The pool is in a perfect place as you can see views of the surrounding area and the pool itself is lovely and warm. There was lots of information available in a folder in the house on 'what's on' in the surrounding area including water sports, caves and markets. Montigue de quercy is a beautiful, sleepy village and has a few really good restaurants. We enjoyed sitting outside each one and enjoying a nice cool beer/glass of wine! I would recommend this property to anyone, it would be suitable for families, couples or friends.

French Perfection

My wife and I had a wonderfully restful holiday in this delightful property. The views across the fields are ever-changing through the day:sunshine on the yellow sunflowers during the day and a sunset from the au vent(with a gin and tonic of course) in the evening are guarranteed to get rid of recession blues.Trips to local sights are easy to access and an added bonus for us as (modest) French speakers is that a little chat with any passing neighbour reveals that the English owners are held in high regard. This is the sort of home that makes one want to put it in the diary for regular visits.

Another lovely holiday!

Having stayed at Barou a few times, but never in the summer,we were thrilled. Each season gives the house and garden a different feel.We were blessed with amazing weather and I don't know what we would have done without that lovely pool. The privacy is second to none and the house lovely as ever.We took friends with us and had a job to prise them away. The location is fantastic with an amazing choice of restaurants and the scenery is breathtaking. We lookforward to returning very soon.

Secluded spot highly recommended

An excellent stay in August with perfect weather. Such a tranquil and private retreat with wonderful views and great facilities inside and out including a large private swimming pool. It is only a short walk to all that the village offers. Great for couples. We look forward to returning.

Barou - Montagu de Quercy

My wife and I were lucky enough to spend 2 weeks in Barou in mid September this year. What a paradise (particularly to wake up in such beautiful surroundings). The house has two bedrooms and is charmingly furnished, providing all the essentials that you need for a comfortable stay. The owners had provided a comprehensive list of how things worked (I really like this since it saves so much time and aggro) The gardens are lovely and completely private and secluded. Since we really like eating outside, there are a couple of great options for starting or finishing the day in sun or shade. Montagu de Quercy is a typical French village with all required amenities i.e. supermarket; restaurants & bars, post office etc. We spent some lovely days exploring the countryside and nearby towns. Whilst these are too numerous to mention, we particularly loved our trips to Montbazillac and some of the fine small 'caves' where we purchased splendid local wines. Can't really think of any negatives - apart from the fact that our two weeks passed too quickly. Plus ca change eh. I can really recommend Barou. Nick & Mary
