We have people come in from New York, Kentucky, North Carolina and Spain all to meet up for our second Christmas a chance for the family to get together
Our family and some friends went to a horse clinic in Clemson for the weekend. This house was perfect. We had 7 adults and there was plenty of space for us all. Everything was clean and the lake view was very nice. Would definitely stay here again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! A peaceful, serene setting, close to Clemson, and a comfortable home with all you need. We hope to come back soon!
We came for a gymnastics camp at Clemson. The property was perfect! Places for the adults to relax and enjoy their time away. Close to all the amenities, groceries, restaurants and shopping as well as the college. Added plus were the outdoor activities for our girls to enjoy when they weren’t training. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
This house was so cute! Very family friendly and in a really great spot on the lake in the quiet cove but still really close to downtown seneca and groceries and everything you would need. One of the nicest lakes I have ever been in.
We loved the swimming and condo so much we didn’t go hiking. We brought breakfast things , lunch and snacks at local Walmart before checking in. At night my daughter would pick up health dinners for us!
The location of this property on Lake Keowee is perfect. Just minutes from everything! It is a smaller house but we had 6 people comfortably and didn't even use all the bed rooms. We brought our boat and the marina was very convenient for us to unload and load our boat. The marina was minutes from land and water from the house.
We were able to park the boat at the dock at the house. We will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing you home.
We had a good time at this cute, rustic lake house overall. We were an "older" group and have a disabled (grown) son so maybe it wasn't the best choice for us.
While the other reviews found the beds acceptable, we all struggled a lot with the mattresses. They are super soft and squishy, I compared it to sleeping in a waterbed. The beds as a whole make a huge squeaking sound every time you move at all. My son had the hardest time as he requires some kind of firmness in the mattress for his injury. He literally tried every single bed in the house to no avail. The king bed is up a ladder into a cubby hole with little to no air flow so no one attempted to sleep there.
We tried to make the best of it and enjoy the house. It was just what you would expect for a cute, rustic lake house, exceptionally well stocked in the kitchen.
The path to the dock isn't that steep and is paved, which is nice. My 83 year old mother found the steps to the dock path too challenging but that is not a reflection on the house, just a note for any of us "olders" looking for an honest review!
We had our dog with us, which was nice, but I was a little nervous about walking him in the neighborhood by myself. The top part of the street is not as friendly looking as I felt comfortable walking into. That may just be me being overly cautious.
We ended up leaving a night early because none of us could face those mattresses for another night. No hard feelings on our part, just needed good sleep.
Stayed with family (7 of us) and had a blast! The house was spotless and the grounds were perfect for our family get away!

About the host

We live in Asheville, NC, less than a 2 hour drive away. When the kids were young we called it "one Disney movie away". We love to be on the water and our families favorite thing to do is a sunset cruise on a warm evening to watch the sun go down over the lake.
Why they chose this property
We have always been drawn to the water and used to camp frequently on the lake. We would load up our boat, tent and dog and spend the weekends decompressing from stressful jobs in Asheville. When our first child was born, we realized very quickly that tent camping was not as enjoyable anymore and decided it was time to set some more permanent roots. This house was begging for us to reinvent it. So, up for the challenge, we bought this diamond in the rough. We lovingly took it apart and over the first few years spent our weekends putting it back together. It is the perfect blend of cozy rooms, open views and comforts of home.
What makes this property unique
This cozy little cottage has everything you need. It has enough space but not too much that you feel "disconnected" from your family. Deep waters and little boat traffic make it the perfect place to spend the day in the water swimming, floating or having jumping contests off the dock. If you start to feel a little water logged, enjoy an afternoon nap on the hammock under the canopy of the trees or challenge the kids to a friendly competitive game of horseshoes. Taking an outside shower after a day in the sun is the perfect way to wrap up a long day on the lake.
