I took my girlfriend on a surprise getaway for Christmas..I had no idea what to except
But when we walked into the cottage we were absolutely blown away!
It was like a Hallmark movie special...We absolutely loved it ..Were already planning another trip & we dont wanna wait a whole year
Good Afternoon.
Very nice place with excellent HVAC. We could not use the downstairs decks because of ants (big black tree ants). The winery is most pleasant for a walk any time of day, and the restaurant has good food with a few exotic items worth trying. Of course, the wine is fresh and local - the Sauvignon Blanc had a 'snappy', strong taste just as I like.
Possible improvements:
1.) The water pressure could be higher in the upstairs bathroom.
2.) Consider a warning about head room at the staircase, shower doors, and upstairs bathroom entrance. I am above average height (6'3") and bumped several times.
This was our second stay at Willow Creek and will definitely return. Malvasia cottage is perfect for couples and having a second full bathroom is an added convenience.

Not our first time here, but it will be our last
We stayed in the same unit two years ago and had a great week, so I booked the same unit again this year. We had a much different experience this time. Upon our arrival, both bathroom sinks were clogged and were slow to drain or wouldn't at all. I emailed the owner, got a response in a reasonable amount of time, but no-one came to address the problems until two days later. The rest of the week we had the pleasure of listening to a jackhammer that was being operated in the basement. This started before 8:00 am daily. Friday, the weather was lousy so we thought we'd spend the day relaxing in the cottage and reading, etc. With the jackhammering going on, that wasn't happening. Needless to say, we packed-up and left a day early. We'll be back to Cape May, but we'll be looking for somewhere else to stay.

Owner rented a property with a know mold problem.
Property agent Barbara Wade did not mak her phone # available. I had hunt for it. I told Barbara that I had a mold concern hours after arriving on Friday. After falling during the night because of a major safety build code violation second floor Bath and trip hazard in first floor bath she was unavailable on Sat. and did not return my phone call. I have photos of all my concerns

Charming Apartment on Beautiful Winery Grounds
We loved being on the gorgeous winery grounds, which made for a quiet and peaceful experience. The unit is small, as advertised, but it was fine for our purposes. The A/C worked well, and there was a big shade tree over the house. The washer/dryer came in handy. Close to beaches and town, although the parking everywhere is difficult.
Some things to point out:
1. There is no dishwasher.
2. The sleeper sofa is not big enough for two adults. It's barely big enough for one! This apartment is best suited for two people.
3. The upstairs shower has low water pressure - not good!
4. There is nowhere to put toiletries in the upstairs bathroom; I used the bottom of the armoire. I recommend that the owner put up a shelf to the left of the vanity.
5. The downstairs shower drain backed up.
6. No curtains/shades downstairs. Too much of a fish bowl at night, especially if someone is sleeping on the sleeper sofa!
7. Communication with the host was inconsistent; sometimes it was prompt and other times it was slow.
Overall, despite this being a quirky place, we loved the location on the winery grounds. It made for a nice walk in the morning, and we enjoyed the convenience of the restaurant. A nice touch was the original art by one of the rental managers, whom we had a chance to meet.
When we needed a few things she had them sent over in a timely manner. Next time we go to Cape May we will definitely keep Willow Creek in mind!!! And the grounds are Great!
The location cannot be beat – Willow Creek winery is such a lovely venue and the environment is so warm and welcoming. The cottage was small but nicely appointed and very comfortable. A couple of things of note: no dishwasher, and no visible mitigation efforts to reduce the variety of insects/pests that were present in the home. This would have improved our experience and our stay tremendously. Nonetheless, we appreciated the communication with the owner and really had a lovely stay. Please address pest control and I’m sure you will continue to get five stars across the board.

Located on beautiful grounds of Willow Creek Winery, cottage is a short 5-7min drive to most Cape May offerings. Short, pleasant walk to winery restaurant. Cottage is very quaint, 1BR but 2 full bathrooms. Well appointed, all amenities. Owner was great, fielded some rookie questions we had. Very pleasant stay, look forward to returning.
We had a delightful time celebrating my birthday. Aside from arrival, the weather was perfect the entire weekend! It was so convenient (and unexpected) having a bathroom on each floor!
We had a lovely time in this quaint and charming property, waking up to the birds and roosters every morning! With three porches to choose from, we loved enjoying our coffee outside. Barbara was a very communicative and gracious host.
Charming cottage in the vineyard. Not too far from the beach or town. Would go back in a heartbeat.

What a nice weekend getaway place to stay! Clean, neat and so close to the Winery!! Owner is a very nice lady and very accommodating. Defiantly will be back.
Perfect cottage, excellent wine, great town. Everyone's very accommodating, even with our dog who loves it as much as we do. Can't wait to be back, Thanks!
We spent the weekend there for our anniversary. We could not have had a better time. It was fantastic staying at the vineyard and being so close to the beach. Definitely going back!

Charming winery cottage in a great location
I thoroughly enjoyed my two-week stay in Malvasia Cottage at Willow Creek Winery. The cottage is absolutely adorable and extremely comfortable. Large plush towels and crisp white linens were provided, which was great. Air conditioning units on both floors worked perfectly and were much appreciated. Andrea, the guest relations manager, was always available via text. She answered any questions promptly and pleasantly. She even stored my cello for me on my last day in Cape May, so that I could go to the beach for a few more hours without worrying about the instrument baking in the car.
The West Cape May location turned out to be perfect for sunning and swimming at Sunset Beach, where parking is free and beach tags are NOT required! I also enjoyed the proximity to Beach Plum Farm, the Cape May Lighthouse and Cold Spring Village. The cottage was a short 5-minute drive into Cape May, so the location really was absolutely perfect.
Staying at the winery was wonderful! I walked the property every morning and saw wild turkeys, ducks, chickens and roosters along the way. Wine tasting was lots of fun and the tapas were delicious! My only negative comment is that the cottage is not 100% weathertight--there were many bugs coming in through the cracks at night. Even so, I'm seriously considering booking the cottage again next year. It really was a wonderful place for a memorable beach retreat.

pretty nice/ great location/ close to everything
Honestly, the food at the vineyard was less than average and the wine about the same. Lucky for us, we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which made up for no corkscrew.... at a vineyard.? Back deck was divine and sheets were soft. Chickens were a pleasure and Mr. Ed the goose became our best friend. The location was perfect. We were close to everything especially the birds. Would stay again but skip the wine and food.

Great Cape May NJ weekend Getaway
We were attending a Wedding at the Willow Creek Winery in Cape May NJ. We were fortunate to find that on the Property of the Winery they had a couple of cottages. We contacted the owner and reserved this cottage for 2 nights. It was fantastic. We were located directly by some of the Grape Vines. I would love to return in the summer time. If you want relaxation this is the place for you.

Made a reservation for this apartment but upon arrival was placed in a different apartment
Renters beware. I booked this apartment for a weekend in September but was placed in a different apartment called the Merlot apartment. As soon as I realized that they had placed us in the wrong the apartment I called the listing agent and let her know the mistake. She said that there had been a computer glitch that booked multiple people in the same apartment for the same days. She claimed that they only realized the mistake when we checked in. However, the person that checked us in never told us that she was taking us to a different apartment. The listing agent said she would look into what could be done for us and call us back. She never did that night. Wanting to give her another chance to rectify the situation, I called her back the next day.
The listing agent offered an extra day stay at the apartment we rented. However, as two teachers this was not possible. I let her know this and was not offered any other compensation. When I got an email to write a review of the apartment, I contacted the listing agent again to see if there was something that could be done. After waiting a week the listing agent has offered no compensation.
For that reason, I am writing this review to warn other renters that this could happen to them. Looking at other reviews of this apartment on other rental sites, I did find a review where the same thing happened this year to another renter, with the same excuse that there was a computer glitch.
If the apartment we were placed in was anywhere equal to the apartment we booked, I might have been disappointed by not enough to write a bad review of the place. However, the apartment we were placed in had no view of the vineyard, no outside seating area, and had a dated kitchen with a rusty refrigerator, and an unusual bathroom. We had booked this apartment specifically for the views and outside seating. I don't think I would have considered this apartment for a weekend and I would never have paid the same amount as the other apartment.
I realize that the listing agent has said that this was a computer glitch. However, I wonder if it was a bait and switch. If you could get two or three renters to rent the same apartment at a high price and then claim there was a glitch and place them in other properties you rent that you could not get the same rent for, I think it would be a win for the rental agency. I am suspicious that this could be the case. Sadly.

Unique, comfy cottage!
We loved being on the vineyard with beautiful views from the 3 private outdoor spaces(our favorite part of this apartment). Decor is lovely, and there is lots of natural light. The 2 bathrooms were a nice feature.

So quaint, roomy, and private
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay in Malvasia Cottage. It is so quaint and plenty of space - 2 floors, including 2 bathrooms, each with a shower. There is also 3 outside areas for sitting and relaxing and taking in the view of the vineyards. After we checked in, we went to the winery for wine tasting, purchased a bottle and ordered carry out, then took it back to the cottage for a delightful lunch on the patio. The cottage location is very close to everything! You can easily bike to the beach. There is a unique farm hidden just to the right of the winery - Beach Plum Farm. You can walk there for a farm fresh breakfast. Overall, we just loved the place! The decor, cleanliness, quietness and convenience made this place the perfect stay while in Cape May.
