About this property

No Salt, No Sharks, No Worries

Newly renovated waterfront cottage with central air and a 2 story deck is ideally located on Crooked Lake in a unique, park like community called Watersedge Resort. The 4 bedroom, 2 full bath cottage is located on 450 feet of waterfront, with a sandy bottom beach and a private watercraft marina. The cottage is an all-season chalet which includes water sports, bike trails, skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, shopping and dinning. The one-of-a-kind shallow, sandy bottom beach stretches out more than 250 feet in less than waist deep water – Great water fun for the family. This combination of beach and park-like atmosphere makes this location the most desirable on Crooked Lake.

Fall is a special time of year when the trees come alive with vibrant colors. Jump on the paved bike trail across the road that connects Alanson to Petoskey to Charlevoix. You’re only a 6 mile bike ride to the Petoskey State Park.
Many areas to view the color changes are great, but there is nothing as commanding as the Tunnel of Trees, along the shore of Lake Michigan. This area is just north of Harbor Springs about 15 minutes from your doorstep.

The park-like property also features a private marina, with two slips available for your watercrafts of up to 26 feet. The grounds included is a volleyball court, basketball court, horseshoe pit, multiple fire pits and most of all, a tranquil setting for relaxing on a wooden swing, to watch the boats go by, read a novel or watch the fantastic sunrises or sunsets from the point.

Take a trip through the Inland Waterway on your boat or rent one from the two marinas less than 2 miles away. Crooked Lake is connected to Lake Huron by traveling through Burt Lake and Mullet Lake. It is a beautiful way to spend a sunny summer day.

Skiing and snowmobiling makes this the Midwest's Premier Winter Destination, with trails just waiting to be ridden. The ski resorts of Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob are only about 10 minutes from your cottage. The snowmobile trails are right out your door! Ice skating, sledding sleigh rides and ice fishing are also just a sampling of what is in store for you during your dream vacation.

Spring time bring out colorful blooms and the 21 championship golf courses open for the avid golfer, which are all within 25 miles of the resort. Hikers will also enjoy this time of the year, for its many trails and paths are waiting to be explored once again. Do not forget to visit the mighty Mackinaw Bridge and Island. It is only about 30 minutes from the resort.

With all the area has to offer with its unique shops, boutiques and art galleries located in Petoskey's Gas Light District and Harbor Springs, shopping should definitely be on your list of things to do. You may also want to see if Lady Luck is with you at the 'new and ultimate' Odawa Casino in town.

Perfect Get Away

This property was clean, well supplied, and was modern and beautiful. We enjoyed resting and playing games there. It is a short 15 minute drive to Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob. We would stay there again or recommend this property to a friend.

Girl's Weekend

This was the perfect location for a girl's weekend. The cottage is well maintained and there were plenty of beds for all of us. We enjoyed the bonfire pit on the water in the backyard. We will definitely be staying here in the future.

Cozy waterfront cottage, perfectly located

Can't say enough good things about this property. My family and another one stayed here for a ski weekend. The house had all the amenities you could need. The beds were cozy, the location was perfect, and the property owner was a pleasure to work with. I'd definitely recommend staying here. We'd love to come back in the summer!!

Family Vacation

We had a fabulous time at this vacation rental! Kevin was wonderful from the booking process throughout our stay! This location has two gorgeous views of the lake with a beach and fire pits. It is centrally located which allowed us to venture out and explore the Island, Petosky, and surrounding areas. Our favorite find was Petosky Backlot, if you like IPA and food trucks, check it out! Thanks, Kevin! We had a great week of making memories!

Hidden Gem!

I am reluctant to tell you about how great this property is as I would prefer to keep knowledge of its existence to myself. The property is well maintained, stocked with everything that you need, and very comfortable. The beach is great and the water in this is shallow, perfect for a family vacation with my young children. Conveniently located with plenty to do within a 15 minute drive. We will be staying here again in the future.

Refreshing

I traveled with my 11 year old son and my mom to visit family in Petoskey. This property was perfect! My son lived on the deck upstairs, with his iPad. my mom enjoyed having her coffee on the downstairs deck. I enjoyed the meeting, watching the ducks, the su noise and sunset. It was perfect for us. I will definitely be staying here again!

GOOD TIMES!!

If you’re looking for a great place to relax, enjoy some beach time, hang out for an evening at the fire pit and just shed the stress of normal life... THIS.IS.IT!! The house was clean, the amenities great, location was perfect (close enough to shopping, downtown Petoskey, the Mackinac Bridge and more)! The owner was responsive throughout the entire process! Our family (5 adults and a crazy 5 year old) had an amazing time... lifelong memories were made!!

Fantastic Place to Relax!

We stayed with our kids, 11 and 13 and had a really nice time. The house is very well decorated - it's new, clean and super cute - and there is a lot of room. Crooked Lake is clean and a great place to swim. If you have younger kids, it's shallow for quite a ways so you don't have to worry about deep water. There is an inexpensive place not too far up the lake that rents boats (Ryde Marine). We had a blast renting a pontoon. There is plenty to do and if you just want to relax, it's great for that as well. It's close to Petoskey and Petoskey State Park which has a nice public beach. You can't go wrong with this rental - there is a volleyball net, swings, fire pits, sandy beach, hammock and a gorgeous view. We ate outside on the picnic table for all our meals eaten at home. We would definitely recommend and hopefully rent again.

Great place for family vacation!

We were pleasantly surprised with this cottage. We gifted this trip to our three adult children and their spouses along with our first grandchild. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. The kitchen was stocked wonderfully. We just needed to bring the food. There were plenty of towels and bed linens were supplied. You just need to bring your bath needs. (Shampoo etc ). The only complaint we all had was that the beds were pretty firm. But everything else was great! We rented a pontoon less then 1/4 mile away and was able to park it at the dock in front. Grocery stores were close and Petosky was super close! We are planning to rent it again for next year!!!! Thank you so much!

Fantastic Up North Vacation home!! Bring your boat!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. This was a perfect location for boating the inland waterway. The property is perfect for families with kids. Great yard with fire pit, volleyball, horseshoes etc... Beach was perfect for the kids to just get wet anytime they wanted. The best part was the private harbor for the boat, this made the whole boating vacation so easy. We spent the whole week exploring the inland waterway from this base location. To top it off my 10 year old daughter loves to fish and she spent most of her time catching small panfish right in the harbor. She had a blast. The cottage was exactly what we looking for. It had everything we needed and was very clean and well appointed. We had a small plumbing issue on day two but the owner quickly responded and had it fixed by the time we returned from boating that afternoon. Overall excellent experience, great location and property. I highly recommend this place if your ever in the area, especially if you are an avid boater. The inland waterway is a must see.

Perfect place for comfort and fun!

My family of four (my husband and I along with our two boys ages 16 and 14) stayed at the property in December last year for a ski vacation at Nubs Nob and Boyne. We loved it then, and decided we wanted to stay and enjoy the property during the summer months. It didn’t disappoint!! We have a powerboat as well as a small fishing boat. We were able to bring both, keep onsite and enjoy while we were there in July. The place has everything you need to be comfortable and feel at home. It’s SUPER CLEAN, it’s spacious (our family of four had plenty of room to spread out), and The location is amazing. We hiked, biked, golfed, boated and fished! Due to Covid we didn’t shop or dine out this time, but getting to Petoskey or Harbor Springs is easy. One of the best features for me is the deck off the upstairs bedroom. We would go up there each afternoon for a happy hour cocktail and enjoy the view of the lake! Kevin was very helpful and got back to us right away each time we reached out with questions — both before our trip and during. We really love this place and would definitely stay again!!

Retirement Family Vacation

Wow, this was a wonderful home to stay in for my retirement from teaching vacation with my family. My husband and I had 3 adult children with us. We all had plenty of room to have our own bedroom and space. The home was a wow factor with how much they had provided. From toilet paper, paper towels, to spices, and all you could ask for in the kitchen. Plenty of linens and towels for the week. Great location to get to our destinations for the week. Loved the quaint towns and shops along the way... We enjoyed the lake and kayaks. We were looking for life jackets. Sent a message to Kevin, and we had life jackets in short order. Thank you... Will recommend this location.

Homey and Functional

We had a wonderful ski vacation weekend with our family in this comfortable cottage. The rooms were nicely decorated and cozy with plenty of room and comfortable beds. Kitchen contained new appliances and everything necessary to cook meals - even two crockpots. We enjoyed spending time together in the main room after a long day of skiing and dreamed of returning in the summer when the lake is unfrozen since the beach area looked so enticing even with snow. Owners were very responsive and friendly. We will definitely return.

Perfect Getaway

This cottage on the lake was a gem just outside of Petoskey. We really enjoyed the beauty of the winter from the cottage. It had a very cute, wonderful feel inside. Great Experience

We rented this property for a ski weekend getaway for 2 adults & 3 teenagers. It was perfect. The location is very convenient to Boyne Highlands, Nubs Nob, and not too far even from Boyne Mountain. It's 5 minutes away from all that Petoskey has to offer. The home itself is roomy, clean, updated and has a kitchen well stocked with cookware and pantry items. While it was perfect for our winter getaway, it could only be better for a summer one with all of it's waterfront ammenities.
