FOUR SEASON cabin situated on 5 acres of Federal Forest with DIRECT ACCESS TO SNOWMOBILE TRAIL on White Iron Lake. Rolling terrain with 400 feet of lakeshore. Located on southern tip of White Iron with western picture perfect sunset views. The location has almost zero boat traffic. Tranquil setting for a summer retreat, cozy getaway in winter, base camp for dog sledding or snowmobiling. AND ONLY 7 MILES FROM DOWNTOWN ELY.

60 ft dock/west view in wind protected cove for your boat. Walk out, grab a chair, and enjoy a tranquil view and/or toss out a line for cruising pike. Short paddle north passing only 3 piers before entering a string of islands, great fishing at the mouth of the Kawishiwi River.

White Iron is known for its high numbers of walleye, pike, and crappie due to the inflow of water from the Kawishiwi. Bring back some keepers, cook on charcoal grill or on the fire pit.

Spring Break Getaway

We had a fantastic stay! Cabin was as pictured. We had two nights of fantastic fires outside. We brought our own wood but the cabin is well stocked with wood for indoor and outdoor fires. Kitchen is well stocked, bathroom was great, water gets hot right away! Beautiful views from the cabin, lots of deer! Good communication, they checked in to see how we were doing. We didn’t need anything. Will stay again!

Perfect Family Winter Getaway

Our group was my husband and myself, our two young adult sons and their girlfriends. There was plenty of space for all of us, the location was very private, quiet and serene. The views were beautiful and we skied and snowshoed right on White Iron Lake - just walked down from the cabin. We made all of our meals there and the kitchen was beyond well equipped. The table comfortably seated 6 and we had fun playing games and keeping a fire going in the wood burning stove. It was a short and pretty drive to Ely and we went into to town to do a little shopping, get to Miners Lake for some ice fishing and to hike the Kawishiwi Falls Trail. The house was clean, the bathrooms and giant tub were so nice and we enjoyed sitting on the deck with blankets and enjoying the view.The basement is so nice and offers a full, cozy, second family room with a 2nd large TV and a room with a nice ping pong table. This is NOT a complaint, just a heads up that it was very chilly downstairs in the winter weather. We did have a fun ping pong tournament and one couple buried themselves under blankets and wore hats to watch a movie on their own, but if you are counting on it as a separate hang out space in the winter. We are really looking forward to returning this summer and enjoying the kayaks, the dock and the fire pit. The hosts could not have been any kinder or faster in their replies.

Northwoods Retreat

Nice cabin in a great location. Perfect for our group of 6 adults to re-engage. The fireplace kept the main level cozy. Could have used some heat in the lower level to make it more comfortable, but still enjoyed playing ping-pong. Big shout out to White Wilderness Sled Dog Adventures! The combination of this great home with an all around awesome dog sledding experience will be remembered as a favorite family trip.

Winter getaway

Even though we were just 2 hours from home, we enjoyed our quiet time here. We planned our trip for some snowshoeing and fishing. With frigid temps of -25 to -35, we ended up doing a little site seeing in Ely and scouting lake accesses and entry points for future summer and winter camping adventures. The cabin was cozy with the wood burning fire place, has plenty of space for 6 adults to play games, paint canvases, and enjoy the NFL playoffs. The host was easy to communicate with, and the cabin was very clean and welcoming.

Cozy, Quiet, and Beautiful

This was a dream location for our family to spend Christmas. The location is peaceful and secluded. The cabin is picturesque with the wood burning stove and beautiful lake view. It had a very well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to make our meals including a wonderful Christmas dinner. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay!

Great Fall Getaway

Beautiful cabin with stunning views of the lake. Water level was really low from recent drought, so we ended up not using the canoe and kayaks as it would have been difficult to get them in and out of water. Lots of space, fully equipped kitchen, and great firepit. Close to Ely and lots of hiking spots. Highly recommend!

Great Northwoods Getaway

If you enjoy the northwoods and pristine waters, this is your VRBO choice. Plenty of comfortable sleeping space, well-equipped kitchen, great views of the lake. Well-kept. We used the fire pit; so grateful for the dry birch firewood provided. We did not find a poker, and that is a recommended addition. Also recommend guests bring their own tissue boxes, as neither bathroom had them. Owners asked us to remove our own garbage and start the laundry upon departure, which was a bit surprising, but an easy do. Overall I would recommend the property to other adults and teens. Outdoors would be challenging for safety of young children.

Great Time!

We had a great time!! We went out fishing in boundary waters and it was nice to come back to a house with all the accommodations after a couple long days of portaging our fishing boats. Awesome fire pit, plenty of room for all the guests.

A relaxing retreat

Beautiful dock, a bit challenging to get to with many rocks and a steep incline/no railing. Very nice to have canoes/kayaks available to use. Great outdoor hangout area! The cabin was comfortable and had many amenities for having dinner. Also loved how close to Ely this property was for in-town entertainment.

We were very impressed with the overall cleanliness of the cabin as well as the beautiful surroundings. It was just as advertised. There were a couple banks of light switches that had multiple switches, they were labeled so we knew exactly what they turned on, I very much appreciated that detail. They kids spend a lot of time playing ping pong. We didn’t get to spend much time at the lake because the weather ended up not being very good. There was some flooding in the area due to severe storms and the morning we were to check out the owner called to let us know of road closures nearby due to flooding from the storm. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the amazing view of the lake. We would like to go back someday and spend more time on the water.

Father/Son Fishing Trip

Marcel was extremely accommodating. The house is well equipped and we had an amazing week fishing with our friends and their sons. We will definitely be back to stay there in the future.

Beautiful Secluded Retreat

We had a great time during our short retreat up north. The cabin felt close enough to Ely so we were never far from supplies yet far enough away that you don't hear traffic or really have any idea you are close to civilization. The nights gave us a level of quiet that is very hard to achieve in a city. The views of the lake were gorgeous; the pictures on the listing don't do it justice. If a snowy stay on a frozen lake was as great as it was, I can't imagine how perfect a summer stay here would be. Highly recommend.

Would you believe me if I told you this property found us? A perfect compromise between me and hubby....upscale inside while remote outside.

What makes this property unique

Part of property is considered Federal Forest..a quiet place to wander or truly explore. Enjoy NW sunset views from main floor balcony or just sit on a boulder to watch the sun setting.

While we are paddlers more than boaters, both are allowed on White Iron Lake which connects with Farm Lake, South Farm Lake, and Garden Lake. An easy paddle to Kawishiwi River is the perfect destination with ability to canoe direct into the BWCA...a dream come true.

While only 7 miles into Ely, our cabin feels like a million miles from civilization.
