About this property

Rustic 1930s Log Cabin Sleeps Seven in Private Estate Setting

Want the Perfect Outdoor Rustic Adventure? Fisherman, water Lover, Birdwatcher, Outdoors-man? This place is for YOU! Some 80+ years ago when this log cabin was originally built, hundreds of cabins dotted the lake shore and surrounding mountains, but today, this historic building is the only such family cabin on Clearlake that you can rent to relive that backwoods experience. Located on a five acre private estate in secluded honeymoon cove.

Our Family Cabin was quite large for cabins built in it's day, and includes three rooms. The front room is a large open dining room and living room with a Murphy bed hidden in the wall. On the right is kitchen, updated a bit but still rather vintage. In the back is a large bedroom with both a bunk bed and another Murphy bed that comes down from the wall. Both rooms have lake views and connect to a bathroom with a claw foot tub.

Ideal for small children as the lake has a gradual entry into the lake and they don't have to dive off a dock or wall to get into the water.

exactly as it stated

The house was exactly as it was described. The beach was pebbles not sand, easy to walk on. We had the best time! The grassy area was beautiful and shady, I loved the swing. We had the best time fishing off the pier. Can't wait to go again.

Family vacation on the lake

Overall we had a great time-- the warm waters and impeccable amenities were amazing. Special thanks to the site manager for finding a bag of bbq briquettes for us to use that first night! We are already looking at the calendar for when we can come back again.

Spectacular and peaceful location

We had a relaxing and wonderful stay at Honeymoon Cove. The location is amazing - right on the beach at Clear Lake, with stunning view over the lake. Our little one loved the beach and the play structure, and there was plenty of space to run around outside. Inside, the cabins are charming and very clean. Excellent stay!

Nice getaway

Much needed time away from the city for our family and our spritely 10 month old labrador. The host could not have been more hospitable, the lake view was gorgeous. They definitely put thought into amenities even though it was a “rustic“ cabin. They provide all the utensils you might need, including can opener, pots, colander, and wine bottle opener. Full size fridge, microwave, freezer, toaster, stove, small oven. They also provided paper towels, toilet tissue, dish soap and a sponge. Make sure to bring an extra towel for outside the tub on the floor. Next time I would’ve put more effort into finding booties for my dog. The gravel and rocks on the beach got to his paws after a couple days. They did also have some small grassy areas. If you boat or kayak, a really great place for that. Quiet, peaceful. Wonderful landscaping.

Not just for honeymoons

Couldn't have been happier renting out one of Ron's cabins (cabin 1) at the Honeymoon Cove. From the beginning of our reservation, Ron and the house managers (Susan and Ray) were all super nice, accommodating and very communicative. They were flexible with our constantly changing plans due to the wildfires, smoke, and road closures and were always quick to answer any questions. They even surprised us with a bottle of chilled champagne in celebration of my birthday! We ended up staying at the cabin for 8 days. We used the dock to tie up our zodiac steps out of the front front door. The ~100 year old cabin felt wonderfully rustic with all the necessities one might want and need to make staying there comfortable. Exploring a lot of the lake by boat allowed us to see that honeymoon cove is really one of the best, calmest and serene parts of the lake that's teaming with wildlife. Experiencing the sunsets and moon over the lake was especially special, we cannot wait to be back again for next one!

Honeymoon Cove in August

We spent a few days in this beautiful setting. So peaceful and the views were priceless. A wonderful area where 3 rustic cabins share common areas of picnic/grass area, huge beach front area with multiple docks, outside dining areas and large grass area with playground structure for kids. We had our 2 college kids and dog. Enjoyed boating (reserved ahead of time) a couple days and jumping off the dock. The owners are the sweetest people and live there on property so if you need anything they are there to help. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place.

Paradise in Honeymoon Cove

What a lovely birthday getaway. Ron and his property managers, Ray and Susan, were so welcoming, not just as we arrived, but the communication process was 2nd to none from the beginning of the booking all the way to our departure. Ray and Susan kept us up to date on what we should expect upon arrival and welcomed us at this lovely gated paradise right on the water. We stayed in cabin 2 and it was exactly as described. It was super clean and offered all the amenities we'd expect for a cabin on the water. Susan even greeted us with a lovely bouquet of fresh blowers for the table and a birthday surprise. Ray was so kind as to offer to move the BBQ on our deck to another lovely part of the property so we could have a different view of the lake while eating dinner. The shady, grassy area was perfect to keep us cool from the heat. It was just steps away from the beach and water where it was perfect for a dip in the lake or a lazy afternoon on our rafts. We brought a camp stove so we could cook outside and the picnic area was perfect for that. There was also a fire pit for use at night when we were wanting to make s'mores! The property also includes a dock for boats or jumping off of, a hammock, lots of chaise lounge chairs, and a communal BBQ, grassy area with a children's playset. The 500 feet of waterfront allowed all guests to enjoy a private and safe (COVID-19) experience for a much needed change in scenery. We found paradise at the Honeymoon Cove Resort and can't wait to go back.

Take a trip back in time

If a great view and a clean weber BBQ is your priorities over a big screen TV, this is the place for you. The view, the fishing, the relaxation and property managers are all top notch. Make sure you bring everything that you need.... Closest store about 25 min drive. We enjoyed so much we are heading back before the end of summer.

Wonderful Place

The place is beautiful with perfectly manicured grounds. It is super safe and quiet. The owner and the property managers are wonderful. We spent a long weekend with two kids (age 7) and two dogs. It was great to be able to let them wander around with very little supervision. We brought all kinds of floats and inflatables and the property managers were very helpful and accommodating. We are already planning our next vacation to Honeymoon Cove. The location is very remote and the Wifi is spotty, which is great if you want to be off the grid.

Lovely lake weekend!

A great lake house for a weekend getaway! We (5 adults, 4 dogs) stayed for 4th of July weekend and had a great time. The place was clean and had great AC. The property is beautiful--there's a dock you can fish off or or jump off of to go swimming, a nice grass area near the water with picnic tables, a grill, etc., another grass area up by the cabin with a playset for kids, and a great balcony with tables where you have a nice view of the property. The estate has 3 cabins and a large house where the owner lives and is gated, so we were able to let the dogs run around off leash. Just keep in mind that sometimes the water in Clear Lake is infested with blue-green algae that can be deadly for dogs--it was there the first day but cleared up after the wind came in and we were able to let the dogs go swimming with no problem. Also, remember to bring your own bed linens, towels, etc. Ron and Susan who manage the property were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Best Vacation Ever!!!!

The whole estate is BEAUTIFUL!!! Everything was clean inside and out. The grounds were beautifully manicured. The owner and the property managers are All Wonderful People. They made sure we were comfortable and didn't need anything. We are very happy that they added an awning over the porch. It help so much with keeping the deck and cabin cooler with out obstructing our views. The kitchen has just enough cooking pans, utensils etc to cook all the food we brought. We are looking forward to coming back as soon as we can. Thank You All!

A hidden gem

My husband and I spent a few marvelous days on this property. The views of the lake with a hilly backdrop simply cannot be beat, The place is private - a great find for someone who wants to find peace and quiet- yet not isolated. The property managers, Susan and Ray, are incredibly welcoming and helpful. and truly care about the property and the guests and so is the owner, Ron. All in all, if you want to get away from the craziness of the city and immerse yourself in a rustic charm, this place is for you.

An amazing experience to stay in the log cabin

The property is well kept with many flowers and an amazing view over the lake. We could go on the patio of the cabin and enjoy the boats, the view and the many people around us staying in other cabins. It is an exclusive and safe spot to vacation for family and friends. The cabin that brings you back to the early nineties was attractively furnished and had a full kitchen with all you need to be quite comfortable: stove, microwave and a good sized refrigerator. The beds were quite comfortable. I certainly would recommend this for families with kids or if you just want to get away from the daily chores and pressures of daily life. We stayed for almost a full week and made trips to visit wineries, the west coast, and so many places out there. Time was just too short.

What a Great Lake Escape

My boyfriend, his parents and I stayed here for 4 nights over 4th of July and we had a phenomenal time! We were in cabin 2 and had everything we needed. The Murphy beds are way more comfortable than I would've thought and the portable air units kept us cool, almost cold at night. We spent most of our time on the deck of the cabin or down in the picnic area. We grilled, fished, floated, and relaxed. My bf's dad said this was the first vacation he could remember that he didn't open his laptop once! The other cabins weren't rented during our stay so we had the entire area to ourselves. The property is gated and felt safe and our dog was able to enjoy everything as well without worrying about her. The kitchen is small but suited our needs just fine. Everything was clean and tidy and we can't say enough about the property hosts Susan and Ray. They made sure we had everything we needed and provided information about the area. They really are two of the nicest people I've met! We knew the cabins were rustic and that's what we were looking for. There are spiders and critters on the property, but not one inside the cabin! There's even a bathroom accessible outside by the picnic area so you don't have to go back up to the cabin. We would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing getaway on the lake. You can't beat the picnic area under the trees and having your own private beachfront and dock. We brought floats and rope and tied up to the dock and enjoyed watching all the birds (even saw a bald eagle) and watercraft while being safely out of the way in the cove. My boyfriend caught a huge catfish from the dock along with crappie, blue fins and others. Really just an amazing time and we'd definitely love to come back to Honeymoon Cove estates!! Thanks again Ron, Ray, and Susan! What a gem you have there!
