Exactly what we were looking for!
This quaint cabin was perfect for our needs. We wanted a cabin atmosphere and that's exactly what this place offers ... with an elevated appeal - it's more than just a "cabin." It is ideally located just off the lake, with great proximity to Sugar Pine State Park, Emerald Bay, and Tahoe City. The home was clean and very well-appointed in the kitchen, which was a bonus. Overall, a great place to stay and we definitely plan to come back next Autumn. A few suggestions to make the stay even better: (1) offer a binder with instructions on how to use the several TV remotes - we had to contact the property manager for assistance with general instructions, and perhaps include "things to do" in the surrounding area in the binder, (2) be more specific about the "weather permitting" notes for outdoor seating and grilling (all outdoor items were already stored away for the winter, even though no "weather" was in sight) - a quick call to the property manager to request the grill be removed from storage fixed that issue, (3) more lighting on the patio for late arrivals - it was difficult managing the lockbox and the electric fence in the dark, (4) black-out shades in the bedroom, as the nearby residence's car lights shine right into the bedroom in an alarming way(!), (5) label the light switches near the front door - there are LOTS of them - and fix the switches that are loose/non-functional, (6) perhaps offer a few Keurig pods upon arrival - it would be a nice, welcoming touch.

Clean, comfortable, and great location
Staying in Tahoma was a pleasure and blast at this 1 bedroom home. It was clean, comfortable, a great and mellow location, with perfect trail access, and even had normal amenities you’d keep in your own mountain getaway. Will likely return!

Great location!
Great location! Close to the beach and many great restaurants and shops! The home is not accurately described in the listing. The home shares a deck with an adjacent property. Not as private and a bit too close for comfort. The adjacent property had a lot of items spread out around their yard. The home also had an unpleasant smell. Couldn’t figure out what it was, if it was old cigarette smell or a musty smell. The bedding, and furniture also had stains making the home not feel as comfortable or enjoyable. The bed mattress also sunk in the middle which was uncomfortable. The home was stocked with basic needs for cooking and preparing food. Getting in and out of the property was easy.

Good not great
A sweet place but a lot of room for improvement for how expensive it is. What we liked: -Quiet neighborhood -adorable cottage with new deck under the trees -cozy fireplace -comfy bed -nice little kitchen with pots and pans for cooking Things that need to be fixed: -kitchen faucet handle comes off -moldy grout in shower -bedroom French doors don’t latch properly- the wind kept blowing them open -The French doors as well as the front door don’t actually lock. They are all antique, and need to be replaced. Things that would make it more comfortable: -Memory foam mattress topper for sofa bed (the mattress on the sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable- could feel all the springs in our backs). -Extra fans -provide bag of coffee -cooking oil in the spice cabinet and maybe label spice cabinet (we thought there weren’t any at first because it is off toward the bathroom)

An Okay Property in an Excellent Location
Pros: Location is awesome for getting north or south. Clean. Most basic necessities were included. Comfortable queen bed. Ample closet space. Plenty of towels and wash clothes. It's a pleasant, modest cabin. Cons: Because there is no A/C, we had to keep the windows open but none of them had screens. So there were tons of bugs always flying in. Fairly annoying. No fans other than one ceiling fan in each of the two rooms made it difficult to keep the temperature reasonable. There was no mention of the coffee maker in the owner instructions. There is only a Keurig so be sure to bring your own pods or your own method of making coffee.

I love the west shore
Stayed here multiple times and never disappointed. The place could use a little sprucing up and screens on all of the windows but it suits me just fine. It gets pretty warm in the afternoon so having open windows is a must but the bears must have torn them down recently.

Cute Tahoma Cabin
The house itself is clean and has was you need for a couple with a dog. The area is well positioned to visit Sugar Pine Preserve. The immediate neighborhood is ok. A little scrappy in some areas and the immediate neighbor has a lot of “stuff” strewn about. We were out most of the day so it suited us well.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The little house in Tahoma is a great place to stay. Only 30 minutes from So Lake (when the Emerald Bay road is open) and 25 minutes from Tahoe City. Cozy and warm watching the snow fall. Everything you need for a great short stay.

Great location, property needs some changes
We love this area of Tahoe- the neighborhood is great for biking with kids and is quiet. The beds in the rental were very uncomfortable and loud. No of us got a good night sleep. There were stains on a lot of the upholstery and pillows. There is no privacy. There is no where to sit where you aren’t looking into someone else’s property. A lot of missed details- no sponges, old/dirty soap dish in bathroom, etc. I do not recommend this place.

Small House
We picked this house because we were visiting friends that have a vacation home around the corner. The home is perfect for a couple or small family. It had what we needed to make breakfast and dinner. There is a small sitting area outside and barbecue. We didn't use the barbecue. I recommend you do your grocery shopping before checking in. I wish there was a mop as the floors get pretty dusty from the outside walking in and out. The downside, in our opinion, is that there is another home on the property a little to close for our liking. It isn't a vacation rental it is a permanent residence and felt we were on their property. We did see a bear during our stay and noticed a couple of homes in the area where a bear, I believe, got into their trash.

Tahoma Disappointment
Pictures misrepresent location on lot and size of rooms. The only view looks straight into neighbors house, so if you want any privacy you have to keep shades closed day/night. Kitchen stove/sink area very awkward. Bathroom smells very moldy and tiny shower nozzle so high I couldn’t reach to adjust. Door locks very difficult to open/close. Absolutely no rental instructions for guests….5 remotes with no guide on what and how to use tv,fan, dvd, etc. 10 unlabeled light switches you had to play with. For those guests who aren’t experts at computer use or can’t get reception,check-in was difficult as you had to navigate their complicated system. We had to leave earlier than hoped (Aug 5 instead of 10th) and still haven’t heard about refund even though we know they had rebooked 3 days

Not quite up to expectations
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately my stay was not as great in this cabin. The bed was beyond horrible I slept on the couch not the bed but couch. The drains in bath were backing up. And there is a lovely garden window in the kitchen that the neighbors can look right into the bathroom. No privacy. The cabin needs a refresh, not as nice as we expected. It was just ok. Very musty smell didn’t go away with windows open. Kitchen cabinet door was hanging by a thread.

Great place for a get away
The experience was overall really nice, it’s a nice property for a couple or two friends if you are comfortable sleeping in one bed The grill came in very handy I do wish they had one of those “the lay around the land” guest books where they give suggestions of where to eat and where to go for scenic views (like eagle rock)

Cute place, cozy in the cold
Cute little cabin, perfect for a couples getaway or parents + 1 kid. Has all the cooking amenities, smart TV with regular channels + USB input, easy-to-use gas fireplace. Bed is just OK - sofa bed is fine for a kid but adults would probably not be comfortable. Wifi was slow; 2 bars of 5G was faster. Pleasant neighborhood walk to Dog & Bear Tavern for tasty dinner with friendly locals. Very clean but looking a little worn around the corners. Other reviewers mentioned the multiple-email checkin + info sharing process - agree it's excessive compared with other property managers.

Very clean and cute, but Management Co was complicated
We enjoyed our stay at this adorable cabin. It was very clean and the listing was accurate. We enjoyed staying there, although locking the door was a little tricky (very difficult to remove the key). I didn't notice until after booking that the property is managed by an accomodations company. I found the correspondence and signing documents for the rental agreement excessive. The process could be streamlined. (One of the forms questions that I initialed in error was accepting or declining insurance – instead of being a checkbox to make a choice, it was a field for initials. I didn't read and assumed I needed to initial all required fields, so I had to sign a whole new set of forms). The emails were quite spaced out – I don't check my email daily so days would pass and when I checked my email, there were several reminders to sign the rental agreement (moderately annoying). In total there were 20 emails for a two night stay. What I disliked the most was the deposit of $500. They held the deposit for 5 days. While I understand that processing the return might take a few days, at minimum we would have appreciated a confirmation that there were no damages and our refund would be submitted for processing within 48 hours of our departure.
