Only 300 yards to skiing, and close to summer activities as well! This spacious unit is in the highly desirable Briarcliff Condo community of the Sugar Mountain village. It sleeps 11, so it's perfect for families who want to get away and reconnect. Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed, and is located on the main level. Upstairs there's a bedroom with a queen and a set of twin bunks, and another with a queen and a twin. Kitchen has pots and pans, dishes and silverware, small appliances. Level entry!
NO coffee is provided, but we are now stocking units with salt and pepper, and cooking oil.

Great location and place, poor communication

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the house provided the basics for what we needed, a little outdated but overall good for a quick weekend getaway. However, communication prior to and during the stay was poor. The app that was supposed to have all the information was basically useless as it rarely worked because of poor cell service. It provided the incorrect information for WiFi and we emailed the lodging company for updated wifi information and never got a response so it was a bit frustrating trying to communicate with each other and restaurants throughout our stay. We also received multiple emails leading up to our stay about how to obtain our key at the office upon arrival. When we arrived there was no packet with our name as described in the email and thankfully it was still within hours that someone was inside to help. We were then told our location had a combination code but the emails we received never mentioned anything regarding a code. At this time we were notified that there was a parking limit for cars and were only given a parking pass for 1 vehicle, overflow parking was either at the resort or the lodging office which was not within walking distance. Which is pretty important to know when you are staying at a house that fits 10 people and kids...The cleaning crew did an ok job preparing for our stay, very surface level cleaning (crumbs still on cutting board, stacks of papers and such stashed in places, etc) and left a note for tips which was found to be a bit tacky. The app didn’t list any amenities or what was included in the property (what kind of coffee maker) which would have been helpful in planning. It did have a great variety of games for the kids to play which was appreciated and a wonderful working gas fireplace to keep warm

Not what we expected

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Old place, as expected, close to the slopes but not walking distance if you’re carrying gear. Disappointed in the service overall - dirty washcloth in the bathroom when we arrived, towels left in the washing machine when we arrived. Also had a bathroom door knob break - service came and removed the knob but never came back with a new one so we had no door knob for the bathroom during our stay. Will not stay at Briarcliff again. Other options have been better for the price.

It is not ski in ski out but pretty close to the slopes. The sliding screen and dishwasher were broken and we had to buy extra paper towels, toilet paper, etc. during our stay. No fire wood was provided so we bought a case of that too.

February Family Ski Trip

Feb 2022 - 5 night family ski trip (2 50 yoa adults and a 14 yr old) Everything as advertised. Arrived after hours and packet/keys were in late arrival box. Condo was clean and adequately stocked. Had no issues so no reason to contact property management. Supplied coffee maker is a drip machine (filters and grounds) so don’t bring K-cups. As for the location, the condo IS about 200 yds from the lodge as previously reported, however it is also about 100 yds above the ski lodge on the mountainside. If you’re coming for skiing at Sugar Mountain this is not a ski in/ski out - the 200 yd walk down to the lodge is easy and takes about 4 min (across the condo parking lot, down some stairs, across the road, through the employee parking lot, down a rock trail) the hike back up from the lodge is not so easy especially with ski gear so we opted to drive down early and park at the lodge. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the living room furniture. After a day of adventure we looked forward to relaxing and the current furniture is smaller and not so comfy. This condo is very clean, well stocked, well kept and a very short hike or drive to the Sugar Mountain Ski Lodge. Excellent value for the price point.

Location was just like advertised. Easy access to skiing. Lots of snow. Unit need a better cleaning. Stove eye started a fire due to grease when we first used it. Pots and pans where worst I ever seen. Manager replaced on a cold late evening when we arrived. She was awesome.

Lots of seating, comfortable beds and everything worked well. The only thing I would like to see are more cooking skillets. I only had one usable one that was on the small side so cooking took a while. We will definitely come back!

Fun weekend in the mountains

We did Otter Falls, Crab Orchard Falls, and the Nuwati trail with our kids ages 3-8. The unit had a great collection of board games, puzzles, and even LEGOs. Our kids loved the options. There was enough space for us. It's a little silly that they told us to bring our own toliet paper and paper towells (they provide "starter rolls") but I guess we can deal with that. All in all, it was a great trip.

Wrong map locator

This property appeared on map around 20 feet from ski slope, like you might put skies in house and go down skiing. In reality property was half mile away and we should drive few miles to get to slope.

We lost a night
