Overlooking green fields adjacent to the 18th. century Carmel Mission and a beach beyond "Atherton Cottage" is a house that is bright quiet cozy retreat.This spotless eco-friendly cottage has a comfy king Sleep Number bed with Luxury linens, and is cleaned with organic products.Recently remodeled with hand-hewn hickory hardwood & stone floors,Quartz counters & new bath. Also has a "Life Source"- whole house water filter System. Come and be enchanted at Atherton Cottage! The Cottage is set up to accommodate: 2 adults or 4 adults and 1 child comfortably. There is an adult size futon that makes into a bed with a memory foam topper.There is also an inflatable bed available with bedding if needed for an extra guest! The living room Tempurpedic sofa also opens up to a very comfortable King bed with luxury linens,There is an extra charge of $50.00 per person with over two people staying, this charge applies to persons over two years old, per night. Children under two years old are a one time fee of $50.00 and infants under two years old there is no charge.

Beautiful and peaceful cottage in Carmel
As many others have mentioned, Bill has thought of everything. The unit is incredibly quiet, peaceful, private, yet close to all that the Monterey Bay has to offer. I will be returning. Thank you for hosting!

The cottage is clean, nicely decorated, and updated. The host was attentive, even bringing coffee filters on short notice when the supply ran out. I would definitely stay here again.

"A Golden Vacation"
Beautiful cottage which worked well for our "Family"( we travel with our 3 Golden Retrievers). Bedroom fireplace was wonderful at night! Easy walk down the street to a small park for the dogs....Great location and Bill was very helpful! We will return!Thank You Bill for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage!

Relaxing stay in Carmel
We had a great stay in Carmel. The house is at a great location, near Carmel beach. There are a good deck with views which was great for relaxing. Bill was very helpful, showing us around the house and giving us tips of of what to do and where to go for meals. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful retreat!
Bill's place is wonderful. So many thoughtful details. All the comforts are covered. And the multiple outdoor spaces around the property are beautiful and serene. He's put so much care into the place and you can feel it. The location couldn't be better for exploring the 17 mile drive, Carmel and Monterey. Thanks so much Bill!

A Gem!
Well maintained property with many amenities, including a lovely outdoor sitting area. The cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood in a beautiful setting, downtown Carmel is a short walk away. We have stayed here twice and look forward to our next visit!

Great Place, well described
This cottage was just as delightful as I thought it would be from the pictures and description. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. Cooking here was a delight, with an extremely well stocked, well organized kitchen. The beds were super comfortable, and the garden lovely - even prettier than the photos.

Beachy Cottage
My husband and I greatly enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the Atherton Cottage. The house is lovingly equipped with everything to enjoy a peaceful getaway- very comfortable bed and linens, a full kitchen with many essentials for eating in, two gas fireplaces, making it very cozy. The outside garden spaces are charming! Despite intermittent rain, we greatly enjoyed nearby Point Lobos trails and charming Carmel and Monterey. Atherton Cottage was the perfect base for exploring and relaxing. Our host was very attentive and handled a minor issue immediately. We would definitely love to visit again!

Lovely Classic Carmel Cottage

Relaxing Carmel stay
Our host, Bill covered everything in detail. He gave us lots of tips on local walks, restaurants, and more. We had everything we needed, and the cottage was very nicely decorated. The beds are extremely comfortable. One of the highlights is the deck off of the family room. In the distance, you can see the ocean, and when it is quiet, you can hear the ocean. Great location to walking trail, CrossRoads, for any grocery needs and easy access to downtown. Loved our stay.

Cute little cottage
Adorable cottage near downtown carmel. Smaller than expected, but functional. Could use some upgrading and declutterring. The sleep number is not a true sleep number bed, but a close knock off. The property manager was very nice, but on the property a lot. The location is great and close to a nice trailhead that leads into downtown carmel. We loved the deck space and cozy bathroom.

Our Incredible Stay @ Atherton Cottage
Atherton Cottage has been perfect for my wife, two pups and me. We have stayed there four times now. Bill has done it all to make sure our stay is as comfortable as possible. Location is convenient for golf, the beach, great restaurants and walks on the Mission Trail. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend Atherton Cottage to anyone looking for a place to enjoy beauty Carmel.

the place was in a great location with access to everything within a few minutes yet felt very secluded--with three private decks, a lower garden, two gas burning fireplaces and good parking. Our dog came along and the fenced lower garden was very convenient. Host David met us and got us oriented to the home quickly and efficiently. Kitchen is well stocked with good quality spices, oils and cooking utensils. We would definitely return here. The nicely furnished cottage was perfect for us and exploring the Community and surrounding areas made for a great getaway. Thank You David!

At "Atherton Cottage" you are within walking distance to the "Carmel Mission Trail Park" that is a walking trail to Downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea with plenty of Shops and Restaurants as well as the Beautiful sandy beaches of Carmel. It is only a few minutes drive to the Beautiful State Park known as "Point Lobos" located right on the Pacific Ocean! There are numerous Wine Tasting rooms as well as Vineyards within a short drive,as well as the Finest Golf Courses in the Country. Just 10 minutes away is the Well known Monterey Fishermans Wharf and Steinbeck Cannery Row with many great shops & restaurants!
